how to get out with all the gold bars without having to glitch or kill elijah:

You need a stealth boy:

Ok, you got all the gold bars and haven't talked to elijah via the monitor, nor have you screwed with the turrets or anything(there is no need)

After talking to elijah, immediately leave the vault and activate the stealth boy... walk along the

catwalk that is the shortest path to the alternate exit path (farthest away) that is also shielded...

you can stand up walking for a certain........

You can also try Blake, in the Crimson Caravan Company.

As well as an Arms Dealer, deep inside Camp McCarran, I forgot his name.

Each of'em have around 8,000+ caps, if I remember correctly.

@andrew3327820 The 188 Trading Post too, it also has a nice amount of caps and ammo to be sold/traded. Get the Gun Runners Arsenal dlc and you can trade the goldbars for dope special weapons that are like 25k each.

Once you've already talked to Elijah and hes on his way down you can reprogram the turrets to kill him instead of you.

@codzombielova Well since you're just asking then no. If you do not kill Elijah when you glitch through, the door to the elevator won't open.

@codzombielova No. When I set up the explosives a bit away from the force field it gives me time to glitch in and when Elijah is tossed out he lands near it. You'll be safe behind while Elijah lights up the night.

The worst part of this was fast traveling back and forth 15 times to get all of my loot plus the gold back to my house. I wonder how long it will take for me to burn through all of that gold. Almost 400,000 caps.

@MsQwertyqwertqwert If you have old world blues, the sink is a good place, can hold up to 24,000 caps. Also Blake at Crimson Caravan Company can sometimes have 12,000 caps on him. Gun Runners have 8,000 but you will make a loss of around 2000 every time you sell :(. Hope that helps :)

my melee isnt 50 so i destroyed the turrents and when i closed the door it wouldnt open, i loaded it before the game ended, but does the door have to be closed

@sK8BoArdWIZ plant the mines, the c4, and the gas bomb (damn close to the door Elijah comes out of), open the vault door but Don't go in yet,you will notice the turrets become hostile, destroy them. Go in vault and deactivate security protocols on the terminal. Activate dialogue that brings Elijah down. Then walk out (overencumbered) the door and duck at the blue force field (preferably w/ a stealth boy) then it should work but try to be in 3rd person when u reach the force field door.

@sK8BoArdWIZ Also, what I did was walk over encumbered with everything i got from the sierra madre, put it in the metalbox at the executive suites/Vault thingy corridor, the go take care of business, then do the glitch and voila you have all those gold bars AND a bunch of nice unique loot from sierra madre. You don't have to worry about walking all slow to the wasteland, just stash all your shit in a box in the bunker and consider it a second home.THIS GLITCH RULES, sorry if I wasted ur time.

I bet you 9/10 of these players have already raped new vegas for everything it is worth time and time again. i didn't do this glitch untill i had beat it all different ways with all outcomes. then found, collected, gathered and stored everything possible in the game. This is just fun for people that either choose or not choose to use it first time around or 50th time through. You looked it up too....Are YOU a cheater?

I was stuck here. I did both achievements already. Of course I wanted all the gold bars. I already figured out the force field trick. as Father Elijah comes out it opens for a split second and you fall in.

As soon as I saw the C4, I stopped the video. I was like BRILLIANT!!!. I left the game setting as is, and dropped all my explosives. Frag Mines, Gas Bombs, C4. Instant Win!

At first I tried it with just C4, which surprisingly when he steps on it does blow up on its own. Thanks for the help!

i got like four gas cans but where can i get the detonator and bombs? and im already in sierra madre vault? i tried killing him like 5 times with just gas cans but doesnt work and dont know what else to do please help?

@Legitnipples Although I equipped the detonator you don't need it. It's normally for the c4 but the gas bombs trigger the explosion anyway. These items are not found in the vault. (forgot where b/c it's been a while). Just make sure the difficulty is low and the bombs are tightly placed together. Experiment on the placement. If you have a stealth boy, look at some other guides on how they can use it to sneak by through the gate.

Or you can just go straight out of the vault, use the stealthboy from the locker and sneak around him through the back room. Escaped with all gold and didn't even have to fight him, plus optional objective completed.

I found out another way to get the bars out. Instead of using the c4 explosive (which I foolishly used earlier in the game, and is the reason why I found this out) I just dropped all 37 bars as close as I could to the force field Elijah comes through, killed him, ran through the duct maze, and when I got back to the force field I just used the third person item pickup/ button pressing glitch (from fallout 3) and was able to get the bars and get out of the vault. I hope this helps.

@XgodzofWARX1 That's a common glitch. Happened the first time I tried to go back to the Mojave as well. I simply saved before the gate and tried different positions to escape. My advice is to turn off whatever console/pc you're running the game on and wait for things to cool off. Good luck.

I killed most of the turrets and the ones that I let live get destroyed by Christine via hacking, so I have a save right at the door where I just run into it. The forcefield comes down he comes out and I get sent flying backwards onto my mine trap every time. I'm wondering if they fixxed this glitch for PC, I've never been knocked through the forcefield, just away from it either into the bottomless pit or onto my mines.

Alot of folks mention not being able to get good cash for the bars. One option is to use the bars at the holovendors in the villa. But, prewar money. Then turn the money into the Casino cashier for sierra chips. With several tens of thousands of chips. You wont run out of vending machine items... hehe.

This is definitely the best way to get the gold! I used it and still had time to dance over Elijah's grave as well. The other options of escape barely get you out of there.
