Well as much as I hate this version and really I do! Let's keep in mind that the Godard version is a re-appropriation. The original dance was an African American party favorite that caught on. The Godard version is quirky, spirited fun but strays far frpm the original. This shlock is badly done but at lease Black people are allowed to be i int.

Did a Wipi on it. Dance originated in Columbus OH in late 50's, is mentioned in the Rocky Horror Picture Show, just after the Time Warp and is danced in the movie Hairspray, not sure if it is in the musical or not.

Is this version done by a particular artist or group or was this designed for YT like distribution? Was it shot on a set, or in some funky French hotel?

To answer, this track is performed by the band Madison Revival, playing together to share their love of the madison. An album will be released very soon by label Francis Dreyfus Music.

The video whas shot in the prestigious Jussieu university in Paris. Well this is a funky place like you said. I'm sure it's gonna be a huge hit this summer !
