Anywhere, I will find you, Don't care where, look behind you, I'll be there, following you around. Rain or shine, you won’t shake me, I don't mind, where you take me, Spend my time following you around. O listen, don't you know, Hiding from me does no good, Where ever you may go,I'll be in the neighborhood. If you fly,I will follow, I don't care about tomorrow, long as I'm, following you around. If you run, I'll run faster, Gonna stick, like a piece of plaster, Get my kicks, following you around x2
Many many happy days and evenings spent watching Eric & Ernie on the BBC... Always made me and the family roar with laughter, jolly good clean fun and the sketches ''wot Ernie wrote'' were hilarious too... Singing, comeday and really good friends in real life too.. What a lovely memory, thanks @julka1 for posting this M&W gem, for us all to enjoy...
My heart like...smile and cry at the same time when I suddenly found out Morecambe and Wise on youtube and still can't believe that I have never heard about these guy so far.
Morecambe and wise are the best!! They have definitely brought me sunshine and sunshine 2 many other people throughout the years!!! May they rest in peace!!! thumbs up if u luv morecambe and wise!
How I wish they were both back with us... The best comedy double act to walk the earth, if you can find a single person who doesn't like these two I will be shocked.
If your feeling abit down and need cheering up. 3 simple steps to happiness: Turn your computer on, search 'morecambe and wise' on youtube, and watch any one of the videos on here! thats what i do when i'm feeling down and these two LEGENDS pick me straight back up, i love them:')
I adore Eric and Ernie I loved watching them this Christmas I couldn't stop laughing... Me and me mate are just like Eric and Ernie alot of the time and I even refer to her as my little 'buddy buddy'... XD
I've just been to see the Tim Whitnall play, with Bob Golding, which brought back many happy memories of these wonderful comedians. I am so glad that we can see them on TouTube
This must be somewhere between 1967-80. BBC had them in there heyday 1970's. I was a teenager then, today i'm 52 and loved these 2 guys, they were brilliant. Sadly Eric 1984 and Ernie 1999. So miss, thier fun and laughter. This film must be nearly 40 years old, about 1973. Great to see it again.
I was alive when these two peaked and Eric was taken far to soon. He had much more left to give us.
Woo can forget Christmas nights sitting round the TV with beer and fat belly form all the scoffimg when these were on? Christmas TV is so bad now we get the games table out but would prefer these two to be back on.
When they sing "We get along so easily" it always makes me a little sad. I think its coz they say "You know that we couldn't make it alone".. RIP, love you eric and erine xx Keep em laughing in heaven coz youll always bring us sunshine :D
did they perform this one often then? i know they did bring me sunshine a lot, was this one a favourite of theirs too? ('following you around' i mean)
They alternated the closing song with either this, Bring Me Sunshine, Don't You Agree, Positive Thinking and Just Around the Corner. Some of the BBC tv episodes even started with an orchestral version of "Two of a Kind" instead of Bring Me Sunshine.
Personally I've always loved Following You Around more than Bring Me Sunshine.
Every-time I watch the second section, when Eric dances off and Ernie stays and Eric dances back on and gets all huffy I just CRY with laughter! Every time!
Everytime I see these gys it brings a tear to my eyes and warmth in my heart. Didn't they bring us sunshine, didn't they bring us laughter. Takes me back to a time when life was simplier, summers were sunnier, winters snowier and everyone seemed a little bit happier.
Following You Around is my favourite Eric and Ernie song of all time. Anyone know if it's available on CD or tape or vinyl even? I don't know who wrote it but it's very catchy, cute and clever.
Morecambe and Wise are like instant prozac. I watch this and I instantly feel better about everything. I hope I don't sound pretentious but they are actually life affirming!
I LOVE this song & have been trying to find it for years! Thank you so much. Eric & Ernie were unique & the very best at what they did - no egos, just 2 great friends enjoying what they did & making so many people very happy. Love 'em!
they rule. eric is so funny and ernie is so smart! i love them both coz they are so caring for everybody and i feel so connected to them. i love them so much!!!!!!!!!!!
One of the great 'stalker' songs, along with the likes of The Chi-Lites' 'Have You Seen Her?', Cliff's 'Carrie' (doesn't live here anymore) and Chuck Berry's 'Nadine'.
I love M & W' singing 'Following You Around'. Reminds me of happy Saturday nights in the '70s, while also bringing to mind a slight apprehension at not having done my homework (or something like that).
The Sunshine Boys was a Neil Simon play about old vaudevillians, later adapted into a film starring George Burns and Walter Matthau. To have seen Morecambe and Wise in a Neil Simon play would have the funniest production ever recorded, in my opinion. I can imagine it now:
I wasn't trying to make you look stupid at all. If anything, I was commenting that it was unfortunate that Morecambe and Wise never worked with Neil Simon. They would have been perfect as his "Sunshine Boys." I think it's great to see young people who love Morecambe and Wise and who appreciate their brand of humour. The truth be told, I found myself singing the song driving to work this morning.
I hear that alot, being so young and liking M&W, many people my age have never heard of Eric and Ernie, i try my best to keep their flame burning...i think its a shame that they worked for 40 years to get to the very top and when they get there they didnt get as long as they deserved there...Eric was taken too young! How i truely ADORE them!
im 15 and i adore these guys, although i wasnt around when these geniuses were, thanks to DVD's i can enjoy the Sunshine they brought to everyones life! TV and comedy will never be the same as these two kings!
its a shame Eric died so young, comedy came to an abbrupt end and it cant be replaced!
One of the best comedy double acts of all time. Phenomenal timing, comic ability, rapport and technical skill. What have we got nowadays? Little bleedin' Britain, that's what. How unutterably depressing.
