Not everybody comes out or realizes at the same time frame in life, but her choice of words implies "nurture over nature" when I've read and experienced too much to not ignore there's more nature involved than nurture. Most gay people don't choose to be discriminated against. "Hi-ho, here I am and looking forward to being taunted, maimed, or killed!" People are who they are and some seem to take it as a personal affront because they are not the same way.

@tecdessus I have wondered for a long time why gays think we care. Make good music, and you will be a star. Where exactly is the anti-gay bias that they are talking about? Flaming gay musicians have been around for decades, making money, dominating the charts, etc.; so why is there still this illogical meme that swirls into every conversation? I love the B-52's music, could care less how wonderful they are in bed with whatever or whomever. Shut up and sing.

The B52's are the best pop band in the history of pop. I mean, here we are 30 years after I purchased their first album. They're still relevant, they're still rocking, they're still writing, they're on top of technology. Looking at me you would not guess I am a fan of this great band. I'm in my early 40's & a straight male with a wife & family - but great music is great music. I have met so many B52 fans by answering "B52's" when asked what my favorite band is. 1 day I hope to see them live.
