Sorry people are so rude to you. I used to draw like that until I took studio in art at school. Maybe you should take a class in your free time. These are really good, IMO. It's funny how people in the comments think they are expert drawers or something. There are rules to being a true artist and its that you need to keep tour criticism constructive and don't insult someone, especially when they are learning.

You just need some practice. Try using guidelines. They might be tedious, but they make a drawing look much better and more proportionate. And I wouldn't focus on specific people. It's easier for me to make up a character and so no one has to use the real person as comparison to judge.

You're actually pretty good. From the pictures above, those to me are the shell of the finished product. Do you have a white kohl pencil or a shading stick? These will become your best friend. Even using these on the pictures above will make a HUGE difference. Shading adds so much more of a realistic character to pictures. Also, I imagine you're using a lead pencil (as I do sometimes when I'm lazy). Try a graphite pencil. It's pretty cheap & available at craft/art stores. I like those above :) ♥

Great Start. The key is to keep practicing. Every once in a while draw something other than people. then go back to your portraits. kinda a take a break but keep drawing. You will be amazed at how much you will improve.Let your mind take a break by learning to draw something else for a short period of time. Then go back to portraits. If portraits are your passion stick with it as you main subject. Lee Hammons has a great book about pencil portraits

you shade the eyes and lips really well, i can tell you spend a lot of time on them :) you just need to adjust the small details more in the beginning when youre laying out the drawing, once you do, itll be perfect :D it just takes practice!

These drawings don't suck. What some of you could have done was leave positive feedback and suggestions to help the beginner artist. Great work, tip work on a great outline of your celeb, drawings. Make sure everything is proportion. What I like to do is start shading the eyes and moving down the face than the hair and clothes. Takes tons of practice but well worth it to see your work become realistic. Great job keep up the work.

Don't listen to the bad comments, you're doing great. It's not easy to shade, to draw hair is not easy, I know what i'm talkin about. I had the same problem 3 years ago, but this is really good, but keep up the good work and keep practice and you will become a lot better :)

My art teacher said when you're shading try to be rough at the darkest part where there is a lot of shadows :) Do this and you will see the difference :)

I will admit that they are better than the common stick figures that we see every day. But these are simply amateur. The shading is awful, and the hair is not good. I find it slightly cocky that you posted those drawings on youtube. However, if drawing is what makes you happy, then do it. Just be a little less cocky about it.

Follow these tips for better art:

1. Shading is your best friend. Use fingers, cloth, ect.

2. Have good materials

3. Have a picture of what your drawing in front of you.

4. Small details count, and spend a lot of time on them.

5. Play music while drawing. It really does help!

You've got the basic shape down, but work on the small things. :) Good luck.

The only reason I don't like these is the subject matter, 'I'm biased we all are.' Though, they are good, almost really good, I think if you put more effort/shading/time/detail to the hair, you will improve a grate deal! Also adding darker shades will do lots of good to!
