Can't wait for the Fourth one. I use to play a very little bit of quake for fun, and discovered defrag but couldn't finish any of the run. Then I saw a few movies and was impressed by the possibilities of quake such as Mozaik movie. Which was already making me depress of being so shitty at this game. Then I saw your 3 video, and I cried lol. It that possible? it is beyond any imagination.

Now I keep on watching your movies, and still I don't understand the tricks you perform. This is sick!

@ChrisCotea I think your talking about an OverBounce. An OverBounce is a bug in the game that is exploited. Falling from certain heights to the floor can create a bug that basically bounces you back up to the height you fell from or you can add forward movement to the fall to have that bug bounce you horizontally.

@ChrisCotea tricking jumping without the exploit is still possible. It only allows for a bigger boost of take off. Overbounces will not work in QuakeLive because they removed the bug. I spoke with one of the guys from ID Software during the beta of QL and he told me they wished they could have kept the bug in for tricking but it was doing weird things in their new code so they had to cut it.

The editor used a program called Q3MME (Quake 3 Movie Makers Edition) its a mod for doing camera angles and other editing stuff with Q3.

The team is being rejuvenated, meaning building up an active team and then we are getting content. Some stuff has been gathered but not near enough to make a movie. I'd say roughly given timeline of how long past projects have taken, expect something big next year around this time or September. Possibly something smaller sooner too.

Well, after talking with someone at iD we found out that QuakeLive no longer has OverBounces which is a bug we use to do things, like high bounces, fast take offs and stuff like that. Since QuakeLive is no longer closed beta I can talk about what was said with one of the iD guys (NDA). Along with no OBs there is modified weapon kickbacks in QuakeLive so right now unless the option is added to run old q3 physics in QL then I think we will stick with Q3 for EH4 but that isn't coming soon.

We did use All Seeing Eye also but Yahoo has killed the servers that support it. So now some of us use HLSW, just google that and you will find it. But I've noticed it doesn't have good defrag server support. But your guess is as good as mine, I wish there was a client that worked as well ASE.

The multi colored railed is a setting in Quake 3 Movie Makers Edition aka Q3mme. I'd google q3mme and the q3mme forums should come up. go there. In there search rail effects or ask in the forums. Sorry, I know its not much of help but I don't know myself. I just know it is a setting our editor did in q3mme. Hope that helps.

Yeah im using defrag 1.91 and i can do strafes (easier ones), 2rj and some plasma climbs. But i have no idea why i cant do overbounce... Same map, same place but i just hit the ground when i fall.

Am i supposed to jump when i hit the ground? Or should i jump before i fall down? Im allways at 0ups while i fall so i realy dont understand what im doing wrong, please help.

There are several ways to get OBs, so we might have done something you didnt see us do in the film. I added links in the more info to a tutorial video. Click on Part 1 and go 6:10 seconds in and pay close attention to everything. Hope that helps.

Are you using the Defrag mod? Overbounces is a bug that is turned off an regular q3 but in tricking we keep it on.
