y do yall think these things happen in the world because like a crack head and a needle america is trying to get high and we puttin hole's in the earth anywhere we can to fufil what ever void we havae in our lives
I was there, and it was awesome. I was able to watch it with my Grandchildren. I think it is a shame to end the program. Now we have to rely on Russia to take up anything to the space station for us. Yeah, expensive program, and alot of money needed in the USA on earth, however we will still fund other Nations for food, and medical, instead of our own... Bring back the Shuttles !!!
Seeing the Atlantis go off into space was amazing. Its like a once in a lifetime opportunity to see it. After that was over off to Cocoa Beach my mom bf n nephew went. It was fun!
@BlackMellivore this is the last shuttle that NASA is launching a shuttle to space. President Kennedy only did NASA space program for 30 years. It was amazing to go see it in person. It is now done until another President wants to bring the space program back.
I brought my 4 year old daughter to see the launch as she will never again have the ability to see this in her lifetime. I believe the two of us were the only Youtube vloggers to capture the shuttle launch for our vlogs. Good job guys and keep it up.
@berrysoftball yeah I seen both of you guys videos. This one & yours! Great footage for both of you guys & I think you are the only two I've seen (Vloggers) that covered it!!
I was there too. It was incredible. So in MY opinion. I think that Nasa is more important than the Military. And shutting down a branch of it, is stupid.
I don't think it will be the end of the shuttle program.... It can't be.... l'm sure there will be a new launch of something that we will send more people to space for missions of some sort!
LMAO yall all sound like you're stoned in the repeat performance. why didn't you guys take a short trip out to port canaveral and film it from there? in port canaveral you wouldn't have had to get authorization to get in there to film it either
why is it shutting down is there nothing left to learn or were just lazy to keep going up there or is there something else ???????? dunnn dun dunnnnnnnn
I believe that space travel will continue. The only reason why they're retiring the shuttles is because The International space station has been completed; also they're very expensive to launch. The technology to go back to the moon is there, but NASA isn't getting the funding that it should from the Government. They actually get 1% of the total budget. About 3 billion dollars. That's not nearly enough to develop a manned craft like the Saturn V.
That thing is a pile of C****P to complex and unsafe, its a shame that USA doesn't have anything to replace it with, but this stuff is so expensive i can understand why, I remember the Apollo programme, surely the zenith of human achievement, we seem to have gone backward since. its like the decline of the Roman empire
So i hear they will start using a different type of space travel vehicle that was originally supposed to be used for space rescue. Im sad... I liked the shuttles...
Space exploration has always symbolized the USA to me since I was a boy watching Apollo with my Dad you guys can do anything ... The greatest nation on Earth! Good luck Atlantis from all your admirers in the U K :)))
i say its a good thing to save the governments money and we can do research down here when we study samples from the mars rover and use telescopes. When we're done with that we can go back up there.
Cool video, I'am glad yall got to see some of the Shuttle today!!! There is no Sonic Boom when the shuttle blast off, that only happens when they come back into Earths atmosphere, before landing. :)
NASA is building a space craft to take astronauts into deep space. The shuttles are retiring because they do not have the best ability to take astronauts on long, far missions. NASA actually posted a youtube video explaining it all a few hours ago. NASA will be sending people into space, just not for quite a while. People on the live stream of the launch coverage last night said it is like a long hold. To get to the ISS, Americans will go up with other countries like they already do.
Yeah the space shuttle technology is so ancient. With current technology the same stuff can be tested here on earth much cheaper than sending people in space to do it.
It's not the last launch. NASA is not shutting down. The Space Shuttle project is ending. That's it. It's a good thing. The project has had a great run for I think 20 to 25 years. But, now it's time to focus on going back to the Moon. Trying to build Moon Bases. And also focusing on the first manned mission to Mars. The future for american space travel is bright. Personally I can't wait for whats ahead for the future of NASA. I'm a huge space nerd. :)
Bad thing, we need to continue space travel and be the leaders. The US is falling behind in many things and it seems the president/government don't care, fools.
@rjbrozov NASA isn't shutting down. They are just finishing the Space Shuttle program. But, we should be happy. We're now going to focus on life in space. For example, NASA plans to have Moon bases where Astronauts can study the Moon and live. Also, by 2030 NASA plans to have landed men on Mars. The future is bright for american space travel is bright like I said in another comment. :)
I dont think its a good idea because what is going to bring that many people to this side of florida. Im so Pissed i couldnt see from my house... stupid clouds..
I think it could be both good and bad. If we get corporations into the Space Race then we will get a HUGE influx of new tech.. but at the same time we get all the Corporate BS... so..
The audio cracked me up. lol. It's not the end of NASA, just the end of the space shuttle. It's a bumber. However, it opens up a big ol' door for commercial space travel.
My science teacher said that only the space shuttle project was shutting down, however, if NASA has the money, they might come out with a new capsule project like the Russians because they can't keep on reusing the shuttles that are like 30 years old which is why it is shutting down.I guess we just have to wait and see what happens.......but nothing will be happening soon with all the economy problems.
I saw the space shuttle on the launch pad when i went there 2 weeks ago! Wish i could have gone back to see it take off, it's probably much cooler in person than on tv (:
NASA's not shutting down... But I'll quote a Physicist Dr. Michio Kaku,
"The Government spends money on Projects to nowhere, with no possible return, instead they should be investing in scientific innovation as it's return is usually 10 fold."
But the shuttle needed to be retired, the only bad thing is they cut the replacement... in 10 years they went through Mercury, Gemini, and Apollo. The Shuttle, wasn't updated in 30 years. So it's good that it's been retired, bad there's no replacement..
