bought a Shelby GT with 4.6L for 39.9k. came from Las Vegas and was at a car show there. a local ford dealer here in Arkansas bought it and had it sit here for over 4 months. it looked like it was neglected because it had 2 inches of DUST on it. no wonder nobody had bought it yet. looked like shit. xD who wants to pay 44k for a car that looks like some old used mustang. after they cleaned and waxed it, i drove it off the lot with only 54 miles on the OD. lol.

this shelby is not a holden! the new gto and soon to come pontiac G8 were based on the gm australian division called holden. the new mustangs are actually based on a lincoln LS platform
if you can pay the sticker price, then you can pay for insurance, gas guzzler tax and have the ability to fight of girls and idiots that think they can smoke you in the cracker jack cars.
damn right. i agree with everything you said. but i do feel the car is merely jus an overpriced mustang with parts out of the ford racing catalog. the people that are buying them are the rich guys that can afford them. for the 40 k people spend on them i'd spend the lil bit more and get the gt500.
true man very true, only problem is ford is no dummy they realized the supply and demand so dropped the production number from 9000 to 2,312 for 2008...surpise this = little incentives on the 07's and all 08's are farr past their msrp...my advice get a shelby gt throw on the shelby supercharger get a sig. plate acknowing the creation of a 500 and save a couple G's
gt500 doesnt handle as smooth as the shelby gt. gt500 has a much heavier front end then then gt. the gt handls better and u can drop a couple of bucks here and there and in no time ull have the shelby gt up 450+ hp and ud be able to hang with a gt500

I don't know where you're getting those numbers but the MSRP on a GT500 coupe is $40K (42 after gas-guzzler tax though) and the Shelby-GT is $36K.
Seems like the Shelby-GT should have more HP for that price. It's cheaper to buy a normal GT and add a few easy-to-do mods to get the same or more HP. The Shelby-GT is still a nice looking car though.

The Cobra 500 is $45K for a bone stock coupe plus dealer mark up.
The Shelby GT is $38K I don't know of a mark up.
The gass guzzler tax is $1,300 and $1,000 respectively.
You can build a cheap fast mustang, but it will never increase in value.
Don't you want to be able to say I've got a SHELBY??

Shelby GTs are about 45K after markup, GT500s are 55-60K after markup. MSRP doesnt mean jack on cars like this.

I got mine for sticker $39,120. Mark ups are $5K. Not every dealer charges a markup.
