This is played on a Cristal baschet a musical instrument that produces sound from oscillating glass cylinders. The Cristal Baschet is also known as the Crystal Organ, and composed of 54 chromatically-tuned glass rods. The glass rods are rubbed with moistened fingers to produce vibrations
What the Hell was this about??? We used to watch this at school, even though after school it was Ulysses31, which was far more educational. I don't remember a damn thing about Picturebox except for this spinning jewelled coffin with evil circus Thatcher doll music that might as well be played on Feathers Mc Graw's radio if Gromit dropped it down the toilet. It could only be made more evil if it was combined with Waltzinblack by The Stranglers. Where can I download it from??
you can hear it in its true horrendous glory it was scary as fuck anyway but there are extra fucked up harmonics in there , truly awful fucking hell no no no
If you or anyone else knows where the original crystal box is, I would be very interested. I would need full provenance. I pay cash and don't ask questions.
i used to watch this when i pretented to be sick to get off school,,its all that was on in the mornings and it made me sicker so i could get off the next day watch it and get sicker again cos i watched it.. untill friday when the weekend came and i got better again..then till monday, when i bonked off school again and got sicker by watching this and wathed it again on tuesday till the doctor came and he told me to turn off the telly..feel sick now thinkin bout it.. at least im rich tho!
@dickpox9 What the hell are you on about? Everybody loved the carousel-style music and the sickly looking box that just spun and spun and spun. I bet nobody can remember what the show was about though? I mean, what happened AFTER the intro finished! I can't!
It was about in Indian man carving a minature man and canoe . He floated it down a river and it dissapeared into the sea and being found thousands of miles away by a boy..
@magicbus144 I don't remember that one really. Looking through YouTube, there are many that I do not recognise. I'm jusy happy that people who have posted these jewels of video still had them and YouTube accepted them (not sure for how much longer though before copyright laws strip them away forever. I'd record them all if I could afford to buy a 100TB+ Hard Disk array!
@dickpox9 I am Rich cos back then we had a 26 inch "color" Ferguson now i have a 50 inch Samsung.. isnt that wealth? it was the spinning of the carousel picture box that made me dizzy so i pretended to be sick to get off school to watch it, being dizzy convinced my poor mum..i loved picture box so much with a passion i pretended to be sick and got away with it untill the doctor sussed it was picture box motion nausea and made me not watch again he said untill you tube gets invented..
That music is creepy.A soundtrack to a nightmare.

I so miss the world we grew up in. When shows like this were special, and telly was mostly off air in the morning/afternoons.
