That has to be the most patient, laid-back cat in the world to put up with that! I had a sable Sheltie that was 55 lbs! Not fat, just turned out big for some reason, even though she was a purebreed. IIRC, AKC weight for Shelties can't exceed 22 lbs. But dont quote me on that! ;-) BTW, my Sheltie lived for 14 years, and had to be put to sleep in 1999. Not a single day goes by that I dont miss her. ;-(

@Cherrypop513 That was Linus, our 35 lbs Sheltie. The smaller dog is Java, a 15 lbs Sheltie. The larger Sheltie is too large (according to the AKC) and Java is just right.

If your cat was my cat then, my cat would have whacked him, my cat doesn't have a lot of patience. If you annoy him a lot, he gets really mad. Poor cat, :(. I'm getting a Sheltie in July (hopefully).

My sheltie loves to play with my cat too, but I've never seen such a tolerant cat! He just lets the dog bite him on the head!!!! My dog is too scared to try something like that. If my cat so much as twitches, the dog takes off running. LOL! Priceless!

Yeah, sometimes I wonder why he tolerates it so well. The cat seems to think/act like the dog is his Mom. When the cat was a kitten, he often tried to nurse from the dog. To this day, he often goes to sleep next to the dog and the dog often uses the cat for a pillow. They seem to be inseparable. This playing you see in the video is usually after they have had a meal, as if to celebrate.

Both dogs are Shelties (Shetland Sheep Dogs) and they're both "Sable", meaning beige/blond coat with white collars and feet.

I think the Sheltie was ~8 months old when the cat arrived as a ~3 month old kitten. The kitten would try to nurse off the Sheltie -- didn't seem to matter that the Sheltie was a male dog.
