  • This excercise simulates the full lateral rotation of the shoulder / roatator cuff, only with added weight. The problem with this excercise in particular is the massive range of movement. By the time the weight is past a 90* angle and starting to go towards the back of your neck like that, your deltoids are no longer the targetted contracted muscles but the trapezius and shoulder blades come into play to support the weight from falling...

  • This guy obviously knows what he's doing, like others have said Im gonna guess 95% of the people posting on here dont have shit compared to him as far as muscle goes. Having alot of muscle myself, I can vouch for the effectiveness of the exercises he has come up with.

  • This exercise is not only pointless, it also isn't working the deltoids or scapular region at all. It's a showy exercise, and this guy is probably one of those that's naturally cut and sees results with minimal effort. I agree...let's see him do some cleans, squats, deads, and weighted dips and pullups.

  • I have a degree in exercise physiology! This exercise would be more beneficial if it went from a seated curl to a standing shoulder press. I would not recommend anyone do this! By the way: supplements are waste of time and money. Eat whole fresh foods and you will make just as many gains!

    That said, while all you wannabe's and amateurs are trying to "get ripped" with biceps curls at the dumbell rack, the real athletes are hitting olympic lifts like deadlifts, front squats and power snatches. Unless you do olympic lifts on a regular basis, you're nothing but an amateur.

    Single muscle isolation movements are for amateurs. If you want big guns, try deadlifts and pullups.

  • it works alot of the arms, however contrary to what some have said, where you're truly going to feel it if you're doing it correctly is the shoulders and the traps. Sure it takes some arm strength to do it though.

  • Like the person above said, you must be careful, this movement is not for everyone. You must start off with light weight to get the movement down, then you slowly work your way up to heavier weight. I started doing this as rotator rehab, then as it quickly got my rotator back I began using it more to build the shoulder in a non traditional way. As far as a hat, I don't know what makes people ask questions like that. If you've never seen anyone wear a hat in the gym, maybe you should go more, lol
