It can be fun, but overall there's no getting around that you're just abusing the game's ridiculous auto-aim, essentially letting it get the kills for you. "Hardscoping" is... actually what snipers do. As a sniper, you generally want to stay back. If you want to call it camping, so be it, but don't accuse snipers of being something it they aren't.

Since then QS has since become both loved and loathed, and I generally consider it to be overpowered, mostly because Infinity Ward supports it. Honestly, snipers have no place in CoD, and the developers should either remove them entirely, or replace them with something like a Battle Rifle (e.g. FAL, G3) or Designated Marksman Rifle (e.g. SVD).
