Its funny how ive been watching new vids where people are throwing off cordova backs, deadbody backflips and so much more, then i decided to go back and watch these. i realized how much people have progressed and cant wait till we go even further
i think its fucked up that when people see a backflip there like o its just a trick when carey did it it was like he was god and no the tricks and every day thing
@herb757 i know man, pastrana went for the 360 backflip and broke bones in his leg, everyear they will just have to keep going bigger and push moto x to the limit
he should of done it off a ramp the first time. of course if u do it off of dirt its gonna launch u. look at jeremy stenbergs crash. but hart is a warrior for coming back and proving its possible
A lot of people don't understand, the people after Corey Hart had foam pits to learn to backflip. That's the thing about X sports back in the day. The only way to learn a new trick was the hard way. If you went for something nobody ever did you probably was going to be injured. Pastrana had a foam pit to learn the double and it was still dangerous as hell
@killz7912 Hart used foam pits to practice flips on a BMX bike when he was training for this man. Nobody had a foam pit that could handle motorcyles back then. The Pit has to be deep enough so the Motorbike gets stuck when you land. You can't have a motobike bouncing around like a BMX bike Plus he is doing this off dirt. The guys today have special ramps that help them flip.
The year before, Hart had tried the backflip in competition (the beginning of the video), one of the first riders to do so. He crashed and got screwed up pretty good. He probably fell about the same distance that Jake Brown did two years ago.
By the time he returned, others had landed it, but he hadn't. The backflip in the Big Air competition was more or less redemption for his crash.
Knowing you're free-falling from 40 feet in the air and whatever body part you land on is going to hurt for months afterwards has to be a sick feeling. And I don't mean sick in a good way.
I still get goosebumps watching this!!

mrjj216 7 months ago 2
Its amazing how back then a single backflip pretty much won you X Games gold, and now a days if you don't backflip everyj ump you can't win.

@yhefri15 Yeah. well, he didn't TECHNICALLY land it, but he DID put it down on both wheels, and then fell over. The judges counted it.

What, you think they invented foam in 2003, camp woodward existed in the 90's - your full of it.
BranDev82 2 years ago 5
@Debonair73 yea but its not like a foam pit new technology lol its just a huge box full of foam or something so who fault is that
