@burnley5960 I have actually been in one of their camps! Its between Mendoza and the chile near Puente Del Inca in the Andes. Wed been mountaineering and I had some er `abdominal pains` and needed a Doc. The camp was just up the road. The main gate we had passed weeks before had a huge gate with 2 huge very old fk off machine guns and guards looking down, but the first entrance we came to up the road was an unmanned barrier and a road so we used that. Bout 200 yds further on we turned left....

Canada, Southafrica, Australia, New Zealand, KrniIndia (including today Pakistan), Nepal, Hong Kong, Egypt, Palestina, a, Senegal, Malta, etc help britain since the very begining. American citizen race towards the Canadian border to enroll the canadian army ready to fight the Nazis, year and half before US entered the war...

These argentinian soldiers looks as miserable, filthy, unprepared and desorganized as the massively obliterated and surrendered british were in Singapore during the 2nd. world War when the numerically inferior more prepared and determined Japanese Army took them like scared rabbits wondering desorganized, without leadership throughout the south east Asia jungles just 40 years earlier. It was the largest british army to depose their arms at the time, more or less like the Argies did in Falklands

The British were fighting Nazi Germany alone when the Japanese launched their sneak attack on Singapore thousands of miles away, and the Japanese were far better prepared with far more aircraft and heavy weapons.
Nothing like the argie humiliation despite all their advantages.

Also you got it wrong, the British didn´t "came an won" over the Japanese in Singapore. You just took over the surrender after the Americans single handedly submited the Japanes Empire.

In fact, most Japanese armies throught south-east Asia were in place, occupaying most ex-british colonies with their forces still intact. More than half the Japanese armies handed their territories and gave their weapons without being fought.

@EddieExile ...go take a deep look at the last battle line of Japanese armies troughout Asia at the end of WW II and you´ll find them in place in most occupied territories like Singapore, Borneo, Sumatra, Malasya, Formosa, Hong Kong, Burma, Indochina, Celebes, Java, New Guinea, etc. They only gave up because their Emperor signed the surrender after dropping the atomic bomb, not because the Americans took the territories I just mentionend, much less the British "coming and wining" something.

The UK faced Nazi Germany alone from June 1940 (the fall of France) to June 1941 (German invasion of the Soviet Union), and defeated Nazi Germany in the Battle of Britain. The UK received some help from the commonwealth but Germany received more help from Italy and the entire resources of conquered Europe.
The UK had reconquered Burma and was about to reconquer Malaysia and Singapore when the US dropped the US/UK designed atomic bomb on Japan.

Americans served southeast Asia colonies to the British in a silver platter... only to start losing them again in the next 10 years, one after another. Britain was a passe super-power, becoming during postwar a mere 2nd class one with Americans grabbing al the cake for themselves, trowing the leftovers to the british...

Burma had been retaken before the atomic bomb was droppedand the UK was about to invade Malaysia and Singapore when the US dropped the US/UK designed atomic bomb on Japan.
And the only other British territory taken by the Japanese was Hong Kong.
