don't know why my post has gone down the u2b drain. i wrote that 'sweet america' was a beautiful poisoned gift to the usa's 200th birthday. the cover of this album decorates the door of my domicile. "mein name ist erwin..." was the answer to an absurd post (german language), citing germany's foremost living humorist -> 'loriot'.
can't tell you how much i love this song. heard it hundreds of times since 1976 and it still gives me a chill.
@loserswin783 "mein name ist erwin lottomann..." was an ironical answer to "ReneDHilton"'s absurd and ridiculous post. (it's a citation of germany's foremost living humorist -> loriot).

I get a vision of sorts of Native people on their way to a pow wow on the Canadian prairie, whenever I hear this tune. Used to have it on cassette somewhere ..
ps Anyone check out the video to Susan Aglukark's Inuit language version of Amazing Grace?
My dad used to play this a lot while I was about 8 years old.
I love it.

my favourite among buffy's best songs since i first heard it way back when (in 1976).
canada could easily make it the national anthem.
Out of respect, at least. ;-)

Great song! It's on her cd "Buffy/ Changing Woman/ Sweet America - The mid-1970s recordings" . Three lp's on a double-cd!
