  • Deviation / Irrigation ... not really new ;)

    Cool video anyway

  • Very clever! :D

    ~Cindy! :)

    ..

  • Firemen around the world us a similar hose to fire wild fires near lakes. They also use these in swimming pools around residential areas.

  • nice!

  • o wow thats awesome those are my kinda farmers haha

  • Hmmm, I thought Japanese "Eco" came from "Ecological" instead of "Economical." I might be wrong.

  • Hello acatinny, You are certainly correct. I did mean to say "ecological" and I'm sorry if it came out differently. Thanks for pointing this out. -Kurt :-)

  • Great use!

  • Another nice video. I would love to live in the country and have that water flow for drinking and power.

  • Hello JoeCubicle, Wouldn't it be great to have such a free flow of water running through your property. I'd probably make a little waterfall and stream to run all year into a koi pond with the seasonal option to divert the water (after flowing through the pond) into a rice paddy! What fun! -Kurt :-)

  • @JoeCubicle Yea, tell me about it. Would love to go to Japan. Jealous of this guy! lol, I've been wanting to learn the language for a long time now.

  • that's really great! thanks for putting this up =D

  • Hello splitza, It's my pleasure! Thanks for watching! -Kurt :-)

  • BTW, if you can read simple kanji and hiragana, that small sign by the hose basically says "Warning: This water is undrinkable."

  • You can see pretty much the same device in every Japanese home/bathroom. You can actually use the water to wash your hands first before it is flushed down the toilet. Exactly the same concept. Japanese ingenuity at work!

  • Hello TiramisuHappy, I love those toilet sinks. They are terrific inventions and I am suprised they have not taken off in other countries where I have visited. Perhaps they will in the future as the world becomes more concerned about resources. -Kurt :-)

  • Hello TiramisuHappy, Thank you for providing this translation. I guess that clear does not necessarily mean clean. Thanks again for your help! -Kurt :-)

  • cool :)

  • Very cool use of a siphon, I assumed it was being recycled through the river, but I thought there was going to be a pump running somewhere.

    Awesome !

  • Hello 6663000, I really enjoy this type of clever and practical design. I'm glad that you liked it too. Thanks for coming along on this walk! -Kurt :-)

  • As always.. when we first see some stuff here we are like.. WTF???

but on closer inspection it USUALLY makes good sense :-)

  • Hello TheJapanChannelDcom, You are so correct. Japan is a land of practical inventiveness. -Kurt :-)

  • Wow thats so cool and very usful for the farmers :)

  • Hello lovemac95, The folks in this area are always looking for ways to get by without spending unnecessarily. They have taught me much by their wonderful example. -Kurt :-)
