Jimmy Carter rose taxes, interest rates went up 20 percent, unempoyment was at its highest since the depression at 12 percent, infaltion was at a high of 15 percent. Reagan lowered taxes, unemployment went down to 7 percent and inflation went down to 4 percent and interest rates went back down to 5 percent also Ronald Reagan created 21 million jobs. Senator Obama made a big mistake by allowing President Carter to have a role-even a small one-at this convention. (2008). It simply reminded people of the fact that a vote for Obama is a vote for a second Jimmy Carter term. Although we must respect Jimmy Carter as a former American President, we must rejoice that he was rejected after one term. HIs term was a terrible period in our country's history.
