  • The actor of Oedipus reminds me of Anthony Hopkins for some reason! :D Outstanding! THUMBS UP IF YOU AGREE!

  • Hahaha, those girls are just like "WTH Dad, why are you getting blood on me?"

  • At least he is optimistic

  • his mom is his wife his kids is his sisters and brothers his brother is his uncle... sad

  • lol his mom is his wife, kids are siblings, grandparents are now half parents, his uncle is now his brother, sigh this story has truly MINDFUCKED me...

  • oedipus, QQ moar pl0x trololololololo

  • I guess I know who isn't getting a worlds best dad shirt on father's day.

  • @Dean5629 Ditto on Lot. He conceived his two sons with his two daughters. Ick.

  • you think they would question why he no longer has eyes. but nah, its not like children are curious

  • judging by his outfit it looks like creon just hopped off the death star...ironically where the guy playing oedipus was in return of the jedi lol

  • i like the fact that they where modern clothes playing ancient story

  • Oedipus brings a whole other meaning to the word motherf***er lol

  • @kat81871 No, that's pretty much the only meaning of the word.

  • Watch Antigone after this...

  • sorry Uploader .

     I didn't like it

  • My teacher said ((this is the best tale I ever read)) <<<<< loooooooooooooool

  • This whole tale is an awful tragedy.

  • "Virginity and baronness is all you can look forward to."

    What a terrible father.

  • Jeez...he said he just wanted to hold their hands, but, ach, the horrible things he tells them!

"Um...Dad...sorry about your eyes and everything, but can we go in and play our lyres now?"

  • Holy crap I remember this! I saw this on channel 11 as a kid. I remember this scene in particular.

  • I remember it, too.

  • "come here sister/daughters, let your brother/father hug you"

  • Such encouragement he gives to his daughters.

"you'll be laughed at..talked about..you will be sad at festivals..and husband-less for the rest of your lives.. o_o''

  • @Yuli4592 @Yuli4592 Antigone had a man willing to marry her--her cousin, of course--but that didn't turn out so well for her. :)

  • 4:55 "God bless you, Creos." What?! Movie Religion Error.

  • lol

  • Actually, Zeus's name means God. Since this is a translation from Greek to English, isn't it right?

    Correct me if I'm wrong.

  • "Was ever a man more blind??"

    poor Oedipus

  • A great channel !

As Walter Kaufmann say in his book "Tragedy and Philosophy " Oedipus is a play about " -man's radical insecurity" secondly about"human blindness" thirdly "the tragedy of the curse of honesty",

about "inevitability of tragedy" and about" jusice."

The five themes we have found in Oedipus-W.K. said- are found in many tragedies.

Thanks You for this treasure !!!!!!!

  • This isnt right, no one wants to go near him now, he is a unclean being. Everyone is repulsed and afraid of him.

  • haha he fucked those girls life up

  • lmao those kids will be mocked for life, WHO WILL BREED WITH THEM!?!?!

  • Wow...this has been one long day

  • Fantastic Book/Play.

  • what Oedipus did was naughty...lol.

  • what business does creon have for wearing 20th century war generals clothing?? the wardrobe makes no sense in this movie.

  • Pasolini question accidentally deleted!

Nicatroubadour asked what happened to Pasolini version of "Oedipus" I had uploaded.

Those clips from the Pasolini were removed due to copyrite violations.

  • this interpretation is awful, Oedipus is emotional and angry, that is meant to be his one fatal flaw, he does not seem angry at all, he tears out his eyes and is calm as anything!

  • the daughters are same not to even care, they are like "can we go already" lol

  • I feel the most sorry for his daughters in this play. They're little girls whose entire world just fell a apart. It so sad.

  • Dont you mean his sisters? =D

  • well daughters and sister...= =

and ya that is so sad... i felt really sorry for them to like... they barely understand this... and wat oedipus says is not at all comforting.....

  • Do you know where I can find a part of this play where one of the characters say "OOOOOOEEEEEDDDDDDIIIPPPPPUUSSSSS!!!!!!!!!!!" really long and then moan out loud ?
