    Dude, do your research. HKS doesn't use their own SSQ on their R34. Why? Cause BOVs a cash cow for loser fucking ricers. When you're building a 100 fucking thousand dollar car and motor, you could give a fuck about compressor surge.

  • I agree. Just getting the car and having it perform can be a hassle. I wouldn't mind having this with the stock engine. I would just focus on the cosmetics of the car. GTR's are ridiculously difficult cars to tune (especially for drifting) but what are the chances of someone drifting this 3 times a month with no sponsors? I would just be content with having an r34. Atleast i'll be different. Here in my town everyone drives mustangs of G35s. I actually appreciate being different.

  • How is a GTR hard to "tune"?

    Its easier/better then alot of other cars to mod. And making a GTR a drift car is just stupid anyway but it can be done.

  • I just read that the car is hard to tune (or modified) because it was forged that way. Drifters find it difficult to undo the car because it was meant to be AWD. But the aim of drifters is to be able to make the car go out of control. It can be done, like you said, but its more of a pain to do it, I recommend cheaper, underpowered cars for drifting. Nissan does have other options.

  • Try to make at least 500+ hp if you want to hear that sound, and get a old pull type BOV, cause the older BOV do do too well on big boost....so expect to buy a new turbo and a BOV when your turbo starts to sound like a twin plate clutch, but ball bearing turbo take to it better that the old journal bearing turbos....but in the end you still end up buying a turbo. Remember that's a HKS car they have turbo like nothing in there shop. lol

  • this car does run a bov but the amount of air the turbos are flowing is in excess of what the bov can expell. its a common issue with high powered vehicles running serious gear. its not a big problem but theoretically does cause damage. yet to be realistically proven though. its amazing how many people are clueless of how things work. and 90% of them are us americans watching to much fast n furious

  • it sounds like an hks racing type II bov used on supras and other turbo charged cars 400hp+. this bov sounds like that because its expelling large amounts of pressure using a pull spring

  • dude.. seriously where are u getting this info from ive been a mechanic for 6 years and i play around with these stuff.. its not a god dam bov...waste gate or asshole.. u might hear that same flutter with cars with a bov its just because the bov is cracking too late or the valve is too small for the amount of volume (cc) it has.

  • yes its bad on the turbo. ive heard its best to hook up the waste gate line on the bov vacuum line. that helps the problem out

  • @j00hz wrong! do your research on the difference between bov and wastegate and how they function first before saying something foolish. it's definitely bov to release the excess boost that's being generated from the turbo when the throttle body is closed when he lifted the accelerator. without the bov the excess boost will have nowhere to go but back towards the turbo and damaging it

  • @fistoh You should do YOUR research you dumbass. It is very obvious that this car is not using a bov, and if it is using a bov, then it is definitely not working. If you did some research, you would also see that there are alot of very fast turbo cars not using blow off valves, and there turbos do not get destroyed because of it.

  • @fistoh We all know how a blow off valve works and why it is necessary you dumbass. All I am saying is that this particular car is not using a blow off valve. Do you think that every turbo car in the world has a blow off valve, or even really needs one? There are turbo cars that came from the FACTORY without blow off valves. What you're hearing with this car is turbo flutter. It is obvious to anyone that has experience with blow off valves and turbo flutter.

  • j00hz your the dumbest mechanic ever the car has a BOV, but hes probably running 30+ pounds of boost which is too much for the BOV to expell after heavy race situation acceleration, causing pressure to still back up making the compresser airfoils stall, making the turbo chatter.

  • I use the same wastegate on my R32 as the Signalauto r34 gtr. And that is a waste gate cause my friend has that on his subaru legacy.

  • yeah the wastegate you hear under full boost, that's keeping it from overboosting. Kinda the louder ssshhh sound when he's accelerating. When he lets off (normally would be BOV) but the compressor is surging for sure
