  • I really like the exploration of homosexuality in Mad Men as it was at the time. So hush hush and it makes it more interesting gives a greater build up. You don't know what's going to happen! Nowadays it's just kind of boring because it's everywhere... the exploration of it that is. Back then you didn't DARE!

  • I'm a straight guy and I never thought I would like a gay guy so much.

I would totally spoon with Sal.

    Naked!

  • Does anyone else think Sal looks like Steve Garvey?

  • Sal is so hot!!!! And I'm a straight girl!

  • it's obvious Sal is gay, i dont know how he's wife can't tell.

  • Sal is the man!

  • Are these guys gay?

  • ooh you're a quick one!

  • yup look at the photo he gave don and how he reacted towards it

  • People who think those were better days, just think about how many problems were hidden and unreported. It all happend then too, maybe even worse, it just gets shoved up our face now thanks to the omnipresent media.

  • Stop with the spoilers! Some of us haven't seen Season 2 yet!

  • Poor Sal- he really needs love- from somewhere

  • the closet?

  • My heart just HURTS for Sal. And this season...the scene where *SPOILER* another one of the characters comes out, and everyone just laughs at him. UGH. Hurts.

And the crush he has on Cosgrove!? Ugh.

Season 3...don't let me down and give this man some LOVE!

  • If you're talking about Kurt, he doesn't so much "come out" as make a flat statement - he was never hiding. And their laughter was uncomfortable laughter, nobody laughed at Kurt. and his admission probably gave Salvatore a lot to think about.

  • Bryan Batt does a fantastic job as Salvatore. Wish we could see him in the limelight a bit more. Sal is such a gentleman. Keep up the great work, Bryan!

  • Man, it's bad enough dealing with the social/political pressures today for gay mean. I can't imagine what it was like then, especially for an Italian Roman Catholic. It was an interesting era, but we've progressed for the better.

  • we've progressed for the better in some areas but for the worst in most...higher crime, political corruption everywhere, school shootings, cultural and social upheaval, high divorce rates, declining educational standards, and compared to the other trillion or so problems we face today, that didn't exist 40 years ago, this era looks like a dream to me...

  • In most? No, I wouldn't say so. In general things are better for women today. I wouldn't want to live in the 1960s vs today. Marital rape is a crime now (since just 1992 in the UK, I don't know about the US).

  • Sal is awesome!

  • He had better get some play this season.

  • Quintessential Log Cabinette.

  • Poor Salvatore. He's sooooo amazering. Screw you, repressive 1960's Madison Avenue!

  • I think Salvatore knows how much he has to lose if his coworkers found out he was gay. I thought the scene was really good in relating his loneliness and fear of being found out.

  • Have you seen the most recent episodes in Season 2? My heart just goes out to him further.

  • I was really surprised that Sal turned him down. I thought he would have been excited for the opportunity, but I guess based on what he says and how he looks he could have had all of the opportuniites he wanted. It's too bad.

  • Hummm he is so gay....on the left

  • I feel so sorry for salvatore

  • sal rules!
