Let's face it people, when Lexus came out, they looked like Mercedes. The fact is, most cars in this segment have a similar look. From 14 years of personal experience, I can say that I've really enjoyed owning my Hyundais. You can't beat the combination of affordablility and reliability. It's quite simple...if you don't like them, don't buy them. If I hated a Ford, I wouldn't tell everybody I knew; I just wouldn't buy one.

well blame japanese automakers first,, all hyundai did was follow the examples of what the japanese automakers did in the 80s and early 90s. And some of em still do, just look at the latest design of Honda Accord, and then take look at the design of BMW e60 5 series which came out in year 2003. well at least give Hyundai credit for making above average cars affordable that last longer than some cars from Detroit.

They are ranked 3rd in initial quality by JD power and associates. Far above man companies such as Ford, chrysler and jeep. Show me where you see a "poor international image". They HAD a poor one, 10-15 years ago in the ero of POS hyundais such as the Pony. Thats where that reference came from. Naturally, Hyundais have a much more loyal following in Korea. Thus, the reason why they price the Genesis at such a premium there. However, IMHO the Genesis will need to be heavily discounted in the U.S. for the buyer to even consider either switching from a European or Japanese luxury brand such as M-B, BMW, Lexus or to upgrade from a higher end mid-level sedan such as an Accord or Camry.
