these charts are targeted at people who do not lift a finger for anything, or to change your perception of a human's height and weight relationship. if you are tall and muscular, even if the leanest lean, you are bound to cross the boundry into obeise. a 6'4" person should only be 207 lbs, otherwise you are overweight. I would have to starve myself for a year to reach this weight, and i wouldnt have energy for anything. i am 235 lbs, healthy, in shape, happy, strong. these charts invade reason.
but here's the kicker, i'm a rugby player (prop). quite fit and recent physical says i'm in great shape (inside). so the BMI should ONLY be used as a rough guide.

BMI is all wrong anyway. It doesn't account for muscle. Take your weight in the morning, after going to the toilet and before doing anything else (especially eating), that's your official weight.

@coolya135 I have a problem with that type of behavior, the kid is too young to have that problem. She's still growing as a human being. I can recall times where I'd become a bit pudgy and then grow and thin out (as in string bean thin.) It just seems unnecessary for these people to make any sort of fuss over 1 pound. If it were 10, 20, 30, I'd say they were absolutely right. At the moment, 1 pound could have been too much breakfast...it's absurd.
@coolya135 The UK is hyper protective of citizens in a way that isn't even natural. It's beyond common sense and just seems to make things worse. I had a cousin who was called "chunky" when he was a kid (still growing) and he ended up jogging and counting calories to lose weight. He became so thin that his family had to intervene. Once you go on a diet there is no going back, you always look at life counting calories in a neurotic fashion.

1lbs overweight, if she just went and had a shit before the weigh in she'd have been fine. It's a lesson to be learned that parents should force laxatives on their children to help prevent a letter being sent.

@Sshelly34213 By tone, she is referring to the words the principle used to approuch the letter to tell her that her child may be overweight in which it could be too strict or probably it offended her and her child. I think she's not very happy with that. It's not the tone of the voice.

@coolya135 I have a problem with that type of behavior, the kid is too young to have that problem. She's still growing as a human being. I can recall times where I'd become a bit pudgy and then grow and thin out (as in string bean thin.) It just seems unnecessary for these people to make any sort of fuss over 1 pound. If it were 10, 20, 30, I'd say they were absolutely right. At the moment, 1 pound could have been too much breakfast...it's absurd.

@coolya135 The UK is hyper protective of citizens in a way that isn't even natural. It's beyond common sense and just seems to make things worse. I had a cousin who was called "chunky" when he was a kid (still growing) and he ended up jogging and counting calories to lose weight. He became so thin that his family had to intervene. Once you go on a diet there is no going back, you always look at life counting calories in a neurotic fashion.

@coolya135 The UK is just making neurotic citizens and stigmatizing weight in such a way that even being 1 pound overweight is seen as unhealthy....I mean that's not even how it works!! It's not being "overweight" that's the problem, it's fat! You can be overweight and not be fat. You could have a lot of muscle mass, or the BMI may not work in your favor.
