TRA - Sanctuary of the Scion Designer's Comments

The main thing that ruined the game for me was the overabundance of greyness. The Egyptian levels in particular suffered the most as in the original the sands were a strong yellow and the plant life was a strong green and even the walls were yellow with black patterns on. This really gave the levels a sense of warmth. Also they took away the fall into the water chamber on this level ruining the surprise.

Reading through these comments reminded me of how much I hate Tomb Raider's fanbase. It's like every asspie who is not a Sonic fan is a Tomb Raider nerd instead.

Sanctuary of the Scion was by far my favorite level in the original. Not sure why - but it's definitely (in my books) the classic level of the classic game. I really appreciate the ode to the original game that was Anniversary . You can update and make it look prettier - but you can never beat the original. I'm still an original TR fan despite my praise for Anniversary.

The Anniversary was nice, but why things are so small in it? For example this Sacntuary of the Scion, the main room is MUCH smaller in the remake than in the original.

This is a fantastic idea, L4D have used it, MGS4 have used it and I think most games should start using it. Worthwhile thing to unlock.

Hay good job on the commentary and louischou's walkthroughs are great :) I like the Sanctuary of The Scion the water room with statues was breathtaking in Anniversary.

Nice. I like this level, but I never got why Lara pulls the two switches outside the rooms before you go to the wall puzzle in TRA.

Well the only thing it does is make the stairs go up, so you can get back easily I guess. Which however, isn't really needed, so I don't really get it either.
