Sustained flight is the goal. Sure , the french guy flew , an un-sustained flight. Big deal , I flew my bicycle in an un-sustained flight , when I jumped a ramp.
DaVinci imvented the helicopter in 1400 , but he could not make it fly. It took an American to make the thing fly.
a-rabs invented numbers , adding on an abacus. But it takes an American to use numbers for a purpose.
You America haters crack me up. And you are typing on an american invention
@graverobber35 not hatin on america, however sikorsky invented the 1st operational helo and the chinese came up with the abacus. arabs invented hate and shoe bombers and smelling like shit
3) The Wright brothers did not invent aviation... their main invention is the three-axis control, which enabled the pilot to steer the aircraft effectively and to maintain its equilibrium thus making the first SUSTAINED flight possible. That's all.
Frenchman Clément Ader also claimed to have flown 10 years before the Wrights. Indeed, we mostly owe aviation to the French and their Bleriot pioneer aircraft that are the true ancestors of modern flight.
1- Appeal of flying fast fighter aircraft is simple : the fastest, sleekest, most powerful and destructive machines ever built performing in a seemingly limitless environment we call the sky.
2-Same as above
3- Space might be the realm of USA and Russia, but as I lifetime aviation fan, I would certainly relate Aviation with the legendary RAF or the german Luftwaffe. Americans are relatively newcomers just as the russians.
@applesweeter that's not just american. all ball swinging skirt chasing beer drinking men (myself included ) like that stuff. it's why women don't understand us
Right after this scene, the final battle with the second Firefox occurs. Can anyone upload the final dogfight? If anyone does so, please don't tell anyone who requested it.
The ice runway was a real Strategic Air Command runway, the Glasgow Air Force Base in NE Montana. It had been abandoned about 8 years before the movie was made. The ice and snow was real, as that winter was just nasty ugly cold. How do I know? I was there as a kid growing up in Glasgow when they filmed it. The conning tower was a fake put up in the middle of the runway. If you look at the scene of the guys running to the tent, you see the prairie off the base. It was a B-52 base. Google it
Isn't this the movie where Clint lights up these huge engines inside a flimsy corrugated hangar and TAXIS out without blowing the panels off the building??

At one time the Arabs held the center of scientific progress. Hate was invented long before any civilization...

Dear All,
I have some question about psychology and sociology:
(1) Why do many people want to be fighter pilot and fly in the sky?
(2)Why do we enjoy to hear the powerful, loud and high-pitch sound of jet engines?
(3) Why do we relate space and aviation with Americans' culture and values?
THANK YOU IN ADVANCE for your creative ideas and brainstorm!!! :)

1. ) because it is fun
2. ) because it is cool
3. ) because they are American inventions
tough questions!

I think
(1) Many people want to fly.
(2)We like to hear big sound like God's voice.
(3)Ameria is idol of the world.
