i dont beleive so... I dont think android has a native video player, but i may be wrong. Still to be safe, id recommend a video palyer app because it may play additional codecs than the native if it has one.

Also if you got a Nvidia card you can use Badaboom video converter. Just set it to convert into psp format.

Also you can change the quality and other settings in Badaboom.

doesnt really matter where you put it...just create a folder and name it video.. or put it in the root of the card. The video player software will pick it up automatically

i have a g1 and a psp so i know what he is talking about. you dont have to do anything with a psp, hes just saying that psp and g1 plays the same file type "mpeg4", so u can use the psp program to convert ur videos to play on your g1. thats it. this is basic stuff ppl. he just takes a hellofa long time to do it. but anyway, thanx for helping out the noobs zoepmp

It should auto rotate when you hold the phone in landscape view. Check your settings for the app. I use merodian player now. Works better

compared to the iphone and psp. quality can always be the same or different, or even better for each it all depends on the video quality as you convert it. video size get bigger as the quality improves. 3gp video type take very little space but the quality is crappy in my opinion. so with mpeg-4 you can choose what quality you want which determine how much space you are willing to use for that. also it depends on the screen size and pixel.

Yea im aware of how to encode videos, I meant how does the screen size resolution compare. I was looking for a hand held device that can watch videos in the biggest and highest resolution quality possible (bigger screen) like the psp but I saw some articles that say the smaller ipod video screen produces better quality...

the ipod screen is much smaller. personally. the psp screen produce the best quality compare to the iphone, g1 and more just cuz its better. what i was saying is that if you choose the psp for bigger screen , you will need to use more space on the memory stick because the higher the quality= the bigger the file size is going to be. .

alright thanks, I was going to buy a g1 as well but when i played with it at the store it felt kinda funny to me. And the iphone looks much classier. Then again, everyone has an iphone lol. Such a hard decision *sigh*

both phones are great. but the g1 is more open to foreign applications unlike the iphone. anybody can make an great app the not even the HTC makers didnt think of. the maps, street view, and etc are no match for the iphone. i recommend the g1. and soon the g2 coming around spring

dont get me wrong this phone is bad ass and i love this phone but, whats the point of having a movie on your G1 phone? the battery life isnt the best and it will drain your shit the first 15min of the movie.

First. you can watch it in your car with aux audio input if you happen to be in there. watch a movie wherever you are, anytime as long as you have ur fone. how good can that be ? batt life on the G1 is not so good. as long as you know how to conserve it. for instance. GPs, brightness, and alot of functions can drain your batt faster. my advice turn em off if you are not using them. dont really have an issue with my batt dying fast that way.

first you would need to rip the movie from the dvd. can easily be done with a dvd rip software. some are free or you can downloaded a crack copy from any torrent sites. search youtube for how to rip a dvd to avi video format or other formats.
