Tanks are not amphibous. They submerge to cross river, and only when they have snorkel aparatus. M1 Abrams doesn't have the snorkel aparatus developed for the particular gas engine it uses, and it cannot ford rivers deeper than 1.6-.1.8 meters.
@theGoldenAgeOfBoredo You're stuck in WWII. To get any meaningful "bounce off" effect from modern HEAT or KPs requires the armour to be as flat as the glacial plate you see there (or on any other modern tank for that matter). Turrets, on the other hand, need to be big enough for the gun. You could ofc imagine sliding tiny slices of armour from the front forward until the net effect is a slope like the Merkava IV, but now you've suddenly made the armour THINNER if hit from a high position.
it looks like Abram tank

As other people already wrote, Type-90 is based on Leopard 2, not Abrams.

i bet the japanese has already invented flying tanks or swimming tanks but their just not showing it.
uptop84 9 months ago
@uptop84 Most tanks are already amphibious. And if you want a "flying" tank, look no further than the old Mi-24.

Super fuckin' hot the ideea with lowing the tank - that-s the main advantage, except that it's quite slow while doing this...
chimera0036 2 years ago
