I'm sorry but I have never used a microsoft intellimouse explorer 3.0 before & I have no idea how it will look like if I compare it with Roccat Pyra Wireless mouse. However, I have compared it with my Logitech V470 & it seems to be a little bit smaller than V470.
Lastly, I have an advice to you before you want to by this mouse as it has bad battery life IMHO.

Actually I'm going to buy a wired version and I'm interested in the general behavior of the mouse. In particular, could the right side button make some problems with the grip? And what about small mouse-skates, they make noise while moving?
IMHO, this mouse was indeed quite small in size. Thus, I do not recommend you to buy it if you have a big hand.
I think the right side button was doing fine there but I'm kinda hard to click on it as it was too small and hard for me to reach.
As for the small skates, I have no comments for the time being. I have paired up the mouse with my Roccat Sota which has granular feeling on it. So, it certainly will make some noise when I move around the mouse pad.

I'm sorry but I have never used a microsoft intellimouse explorer 3.0 before & I have no idea how it will look like if I compare it with Roccat Pyra Wireless mouse. However, I have compared it with my Logitech V470 & it seems to be a little bit smaller than V470.
Lastly, I have an advice to you before you want to by this mouse as it has bad battery life IMHO.
