  • This version is very rock orientated, like it but the album version is better :)

  • God, I miss A. T. in the line-up! The eponymous album Duran Duran was pure magic because of the diversity of each band member. Simon=Wooshh,r risk taker, centered and strong, John=strong and sexy, driving and determined, Roger=old school dapper, centered, and sexy, Nick=artistic genius, sexy, inspiring, Andy=hard driving rock and party, party, party. That chemistry was what helped bring D2 to the forefront. Pure magic!

  • This is Andy!!! Has to be! it's his style!

  • @ladymorgaine76 I always wondered about the solos on 'american science' too.. I had andy as the first solo and then warren as the second.. there's not much news on what andy 'did' play on, however warren's website does confirm a few things!

  • I'm glad they ended up softening the song.

  • There's always a part of Hold me in this demo: listen carefully

  • After listening to this some times I'm glad they kept working on it. The album version is 1000 times better.

  • @pleasuredome85

Notorious cannot be improved. It's perfect.

  • la guitarra de Andy es genial

  • Wow, still a long way from the eventual song. Only a bit of melody and a few chords. Overall sound is like a cross between the first album and Rio, and miles away from Seven and the Ragged Tiger. Perhaps what album 3 should always have been, and more like some of the sounds on the latest album. The full on rock riff/bridge (Andy, I guess, before he was sacked?), sounds out of place, but the more prominent guitar overall works for me.

  • wow this has really changed

  • Amazing guitar... Very catchy.... Andy Taylor was definitely a HUGE part of Duran's success musically.... Wow I love this version!

  • @pleasuredome85 From a musical structure point of view Notorious is probably one of the mostly complete DD albums!

  • @thermalbobo i agree 100%

  • Andy play guitars in this demo!!

  • This version sounds like an outtake from their first album!

  • I can't see how any think that this version isn't better than the slow version. This version is closer to what they where doing with Wild Boys and View To Kill, and has the same energy. I think this version needs a good mixing, but it's much better than all the horns that eventually lead to the Notorious we know and like, but could have liked much more.

  • @DDMTEN12 I see what you mean, but NOTHING can beat the slow version of this song. The things that are brought to my mind/heart every single time I listen to MoF(slow/original) just cannot be described. THis demo is just a good rock tune from them, but it has no charm at all. And keep something in mind, buddy: I´m a goddamn metal-head.

  • @junior311 I understand what you say but I think we can agree it's but one example of the diversity that Duran Duran can accomplish. I am more of a metal lover myself but I have a soft spot for Duran Duran.

  • This version is amazing. The version is more heavy than the original on LP.

  • I loveeeeeeeeeee this version. That classic Andy guitar.

  • I prefer the released version, but thank you so much for making this vid with the unreleased version.

I thought the editing was done very well *nod*

How does one get their hands on demo "gems" like this?? I would think in this age of technology, it would be easy... once you find where to look. I just don't know where to look. I even suggested to Katy (their PR person) that they do a compilation album of old unreleased stuff :3 Here's to hoping they will!!

    MeOw!

  • Cool to hear this demo, thanks! I love this song and it's amazing to hear how different it sounded with Andy still in the band. By the way, it is 100% Andy singing the first part, anyone who has heard his solo stuff would know. Duran Duran are the best and I can't wait for the next album!

  • Bitches can't slow-dance to this! lol

  • Oh my goodness, thank god they went with the other version on the album!!!!

  • As much as I like guitars, I like the album version better, they keyboard give more mellancolic sound to this particular song.

  • ANDY wanted to rock...DD didnt - they wanted the funk.

  • Wow, I actually like this better than the album version! It has raw energy.

  • Andy in the beginning for sure, people.

  • never heard this version before, thanks. and nice job on the video as well

  • Very and very interesting!)

  • that is NOT Andy singing. That is Simon through and through.

  • It's Andy in the beginning for sure, and Simon later at 3:36. Andy usually sang on their demos before the band gave them to Simon to write lyrics and finish the melodies :)

  • wow. ive heard this song many times before and thought it was andy the whole time until you pointed that out. thanks!

  • extra!!!

  • Nice version of song. It is wonderful.

  • Comment removed

  • This is a great version of that songs. It sounds like Andy Taylor. I like it a lot.

  • I think he sing's only in the begining....

  • good version!

  • omg i didnt noe that...well he has a splendid voice lol

  • Great Video =D

  • Wow !!! What a difference! But I prefer the studio version

  • year thats great,nice demo :)

  • Thanks great work here,i have this song :)

  • Another John and Simon tribute I see, ayeee??? The other guys are chopped liver, ayeee???

  • Don't worry, I saw lots of sweet Nick! The studio version of this song is much more pleasant, with Nick's gorgeous synths.

  • This was so cool i liked it alot!

  • wow.,.,this is awesome!.,,=D

  • Cool demo! I can never get enough of Simon and John! Woohoo, they sizzle! :)

  • this was awesome!! John is sooooooo FREAKING HOT!!! OMG!!
