  • define starch lol

  • Comment removed

  • it exists, it's just really volatile, and wouldn't have much use in a classroom.

  • are you talking about where to get kclo3? theres kclo3 in matches.. but only 40-50% so you will have to purify it..

  • Potassium chlorate can be synthesized by electrolyzing a concentrated saltwater solution with a DC current. For more details, check out some of the specific synthesis videos on youtube.

  • ah man you're my hero, i wanted to make kclo3 but I din't know that method thanks a lot man

  • well then you probably shouldn't teach chem

  • sulfuric acid acts as a catalyst, if you dont know what that is then you shouldn't be making this, lighting it would theoretically works but you would have 3rd degree chemical burns on your hand from lighting this highly volatile mixture, i would suggest using s blow torch, or a NATO match with extended burn so that you'll light and drop

  • ;)..............

  • thnxs. starch= corn starch?

  • Well it's maize starch, but maize is corn (according to wikipedia).

  • what formule you used kcle/starch???

  • Its approximately 3:2 parts of KClO3:starch

  • if you want to get white flame and no sparks try potassium chlorate antimony powder and sugar.

  • OK. Thanks for letting me know.
