She's either not on the right key, or really really flat at the beginning, or both. And I don't like that she cut it so short. One of the nice things about the original is the way it flows through its beginning, its peak, and its end. I dunno. I love her voice and style, and I love Cold War Kids, but I really don't like this cover. At all.

i love cold war kids (they are one of my favorite bands) but in my opinion, a cover has to bring something new to the song, a cover that is exactly the same as the awesome original is pointless. I reckon flo puts her personality and heart into this, yes it sounds different, but if you dont want to hear someone elses twist, dont listen to covers. My favorite female singer covering my favorite song? yes i like it very much :D

Don't get me wrong I think CWK's version is fucking fantastic, but I think this version is really good too, Flo's voice does wonders for the song, i think that alone gives it enough soul and depth, in it's own unique way, tho that's just me. Honestly tho, you people shouldn't come here just to say this version is crappy, at least appreciate the fact that Flo has good taste in music, and even if you don't like her you cannot deny she's better than most of what we have jammed down our throats.

It's good...it just doesn't have the same soul as the original. The piano and the vintage reverbed out guitar do wonders in the Cold War Kids original. And I just can't say the same for a version with just vocals and acoustic guitar. The same emotional depth isn't there.

Can't say I like this at all. Replacing the measured beat, bass and piano with jangly folk rock guitar and the lyrics rendered in Florence's weird pseudo-blues/pseudo-gospel warbling just leaves me cold. That and she left like half the song out.
