MAYBE... on a usual gear change maybe 1 second... not exactly life threating force.. imagine someone turning a strong fan on u while ur running for 3-4 seconds... nothing happens

now imagine that 20 odd PSI of air, flowing back against the turbine, slowing it from, just say 100,000RPM, down to say 20,000 RPM (pulling numbers out of my ass here)

OVER and OVER and OVER and OVER, hundreds and hundreds of gear changes.... it's a very slow damage, but, of course, much faster than normal wear and tear. :)

its not the blow off valve. its compressor surge from the turbo when you let off the accelerator. a dose pipe (just a regular stainless steel pipe) attached to the turbo with an air filter just amplifies the sound. without a dose pipe its just a normal turbo flutter.

all it is guys is a peice of pipe replacing the air intake on the turbo, can be any size or have any bend. you can test different sizes and bends to get the right sound for you. for example. a bend in the pipe will make a nice flutter. straight pipe will give you a really nice dose sound. anywhere from 3" to 1.5" pipe can work. try new things and experiment with different pipes to create different sounds.
