  • at 4:23 right after the mistake u play something that is not from the original sheets, its a bit different that part, just more complicated because its faster but still good job

  • did you learn this via sheet music? awesome job

  • There's just something I don't like about this performance. I don't know, it just feels too technical, especially for a Chopin piece. It felt emotionless and stuck to a strict rhythm, which Chopin rarely did (romantic era I believe). Also, I think you added in extra notes on those chords. Unnecessary IMO for such a lovely piece.

  • I play the piano 9 years and now I must play this on my lesson, but WTF? Its so haaard! You're talent in my eyes :) I hope that one day i will play the piano like you!

  • @0Kaytlin960 The hands and the positioning aren't that difficult when you get them down. But putting them together is difficult.

  • Great performance !

  • I feel like you are playing this song a bit too fast.

  • Thank you so much. I've been working on it, and you did a great job of helping me to hear what it could sound like.

  • Very rewarding performance! I liked Chopin28/15 very much besides my deep personal liking to Bruckner and Mehler.

  • amazing!!

  • Proof that i'm a gamer : when I listen to this, yes, this is very beautiful. but I get 2350982423098x more chills when I see the Halo 3 "Believe" commercial. ^_^

Still very very good work, I wish I could copy your talent on the piano =/ .

  • And I do mean thanks, it only seems to hit home when I see it played...

  • Hi, the first time I ever heard this song was when a fellow marine of mine played it in our bootcamp church the Weekend before we earned our title... he is no longer with us... just wanted to say thanks for the memories

  • that is stunning

  • You did a fantastic job! Keep it up! You played this beautiful piece perfectly :)

  • @CritiquingCricket I'm sorry but this is far from perfect.

  • oh my God! you are VERY talented! :)) i'm learning this.. it's difficult for me, but beautiful (: ♥

  • Very accomplished. I reckon you could go a little more dramatic in the middle section but too many people overdo it, and as it's a digital piano you have excellent dynamic control. Also you've chosen the right tempo - Valentina Igoshina's version tries to extract drama from every bar. Your version is very very nice indeed.

  • 1:42 onwards has always been my favourate part, I just love how it becomes valliant yet still sinnister at the same time, excuse my spelling, I just wish more people my age (17) would appreciate this

  • @whothehellgivesadamn is a PERVERT and a QUEER, given he takes singing lessons and yoga and has failed political ideas. He says he is from the USA, but his Flickr site puts him in Sri Lanka. See his photo album, he IS definitely from Sri Lanka. Click on his name and see his YouTube site and his pervertion. He is a LIAR, a FAKE and a WEB TROLL. Click on his name above and you will see all of his PERVERTED posts! No doubt he is an orphan bastard who thinks the CAP KEY gives him power, the pervert.

  • B3LI3V3

  • purist will go ape, but i always cut out the middle part when i play this for an audience

  • remind anyone else of Halo 3? good song. well done

  • I can't even play that piece ;) but i would do it just a little bit slower...

And by the way. i wish i could play just as good as you do.

  • I liked so much. =)

    you play very well.

  • I first heard the horowitz version and now this one !!

Very few in the world can let the music flow from their hearts and let the music guide their hands instead of hands guiding the music...

This is nothing less than the best.

Believe me i've heard a lot of versions before commenting here

U are really talented. U've connected with the music and played it like a genius !!

People can point 100s of things. Lemme tell you :

YOU'VE PLAYED IT PERFECT because We can feel the emotions while listening.

  • Inspired by raindrops, and you can feel the natural entity of emotion flowing through the peice. This was even used in the Halo 3 advert!

  • @Cortez51094 Yeah! thats true!

  • It's great..but it's too quick :/

  • i wish i could play it, that way good. i'm only 14 and play since 3. and love classical music. your interpretation is awesome. you are really good

  • its amazing, but you should do it a little slower, still, the most amazing piece i ever saw.

  • you inspired me with your interpretation of this piece to try Chopin. You can play very well. ;)

  • I don't understand people who record themselves playing without bothering to play it clean. How disappointing, considering it was not a bad start. You at least didn't play it too slow like many do, although the middle section could have used a bit more legato. Except for the flubs, good work, but if you can't play this clean, you aren't that great, and you shouldn't be filming yourself.

  • @JHJackson

And you're kind of an ass.

  • @JHJackson why would you say that thats ridiculous.

it was beautiful ty for this video

  • The song that can leave you speachles....

  • Well done! Wow.. in 2,5 yrs you are able to play this!? I'll tell you, that I have had 10 years of piano lessons, and all I was allowed to do was some stupid french sonatines and stuff. This year I started playing this prélude (out of own initiative, in my free time) after hearing it at a school music night and I was mesmerized by it.. so, that's all I wanted to say: YOU HAVE TALENT. USE IT :)

  • c'est la grande classe

  • nice! but a little bit too fast...

  • What brand is that piano?

  • @martinisipe Yamaha CLP 230 + The Steinberg Grand Piano 2

  • @arturm75 hi, what did you mean by "+ the steinberg grand piano 2"? Is it a software you download onto the piano?

  • @MasterThief1324 a software that you run on a PC, to which you connect piano. When the key is pressed on the keyboard, the actual sound is generated by virtual instrument on PC, which is The Steinberg Grand Piano 2

  • Beautiful !

  • I just started working on this, it's definitely a challenge! Great job!

  • I enjoyed this. The right hand can get to loud at times. the A sharp or constant eighth note in my opinion should be a little quieter overall. Also I would prefer the song a little slower and taken with a little more rubato.

  • Me parece espectacular, es pecioso este preludio, este preludio de Chopin es precioso... !!! ME ENCANTO !!!

  • halo tune ftw

  • @TheEnglishBlokey omg you are so hot

  • @albertbrond y thank you, person i dont know

  • Excelente

  • This is very well played. you have really simplified it (esp. the ornaments) and allowed the harmonies to come through really well... nice sound for an electric piano as well.

  • linda interpretação,é uma das mais belas do youtube.estou fascinado.parabéns.Reginaldo.Brasil.

  • Wow great job! This is my favorite piano piece and you do it justice.

  • Chopin´s has written the most beautiful pieces of all.

  • Of course he did

  • You're play very good. Love the song.

  • Very interesting, yet nice interpretation. I loose a lot of the natural resonance from the artificial keyboard. The B Section is very well done, the right hand could be a little softer - or the repeated notes start to get very offensive. I would take a little liberty too in the post B section; there are a lot of suspensions and resolutions that could be open to freedom of expression - really bring them in out.

  • good comment, thanks

  • this is a beautiful interpretation.

  • dont say you are not skilled, you are! i started playing the piano yesterday. I am trying to teach myself, and after playing yesterday and today the whole day i want to learn this piece ;)

how long did you have to practice until you could do it like that?

  • for some reason i've recently gotten into liking fredrick chopin's work, maybe its because of that eternal sonata game...

eiter way i'm still lookin for a certain peice that i'm still not sure is in youtube

  • Excellent job. This is one of my favorite songs! Beautifully played!

  • Beautiful.

  • good camera angle i can see much better

the others are flat and you cant see the fingers

  • You've inspired me!

I've always felt this connection to music. The piano is simply amazing to just watch someone's fingers gracefully glide across the keys, is like watching a bird fly through the air. The feeling when you can make those sounds with your hands in fascinating, like the feeling of love that lasts forever.

I could listen to someone play songs on the piano my whole life, and do nothing more, and I would be happy. I hope that one day, I can be as skilled as you are.

  • Many thanks for warm words, though I do not think I am skilled at piano - at least not now, and not in the near future. If you like the piano so much why don't you become a pianist? :)

  • Because some of us are merely meant to appreciate it.

  • @petlovergal1234 i feel exactly the same, i cant say if i prefer the feeling of it or the sound.

  • Halo Believe... Yeah. Nuff said.

  • Awesome dude!

  • Great performance; just one tip though...when playing the constant G flat/A sharp, you should alternate between your 2nd, 3rd, 4th fingers (i.e. 4-3-2-3, 4-3-2-3 etc) when playing to create better flow and more musicality in the raindrops

  • Beautiful piece.

And I like how you describe and equate the musical notes with raindrop.

    It soothes my nerves.

    Excellent.

  • I really enjoyed your version of this, I, too, am trying to learn this....One of my favorite pieces. I've listened to probably 20 versions of this at least a hundred times. I must say, your's is inspiring. While listening, one imagines a spring rain with a slow constant drip with the storm coming and going.....which is why I like the slower playing of this. I only have a year and a half to go to catch up!

  • You're not a bad piano player, I think you have very good skills.. But I feel that you didn't really enjoy playing this miraculous piece.. It needs more expresivity, shades, breathing and romanticism.. All in all, more feeling... But I'm not trying to disappoint you, I'm sure you can play this prelude better than you did in the video...

    Go on playing!

  • I also think the short part after 3:17 should be played very tenderly.

  • Holy crap. I'm playing this song too. And I'm self taught (for the most part). And I've only been playing piano for about 2 years also. That was really weird.

  • sweet man, my version is much faster lol

  • beauty

  • Beautiful, made me fell the raindrops themselves.

    Keep up the good work.

  • Truly amazing!

    Thanks for this wonderful performance

  • Perfect pressure on each key, sounds better slow, it has that magic when slow, but anyway is good. Beautiful.

  • 2,5 years of piano playing practicing skills?

Do you consider yourself to be gifted in musical arts?

im just wondering becouse i want to learn to play piano too, and i have not have any musical training yet im in my life, im nearly 30 now. So i wanna know if it's possible to be able to learn play at this level w/o being gifted.

thank you for your kind respondes.

  • If the gift is that the elephant have not yet put his feet on my hear, then I would consider myself gifted :) Seriously - I started to practice and the effects came themselves with a time. If you are capable to find some time for practice, and have enough persistent to wait 2-3 years for first effects - I am sure you will learn to play piano.

  • Wonderful!

    I applaud your skill!

  • Wow...

You're good...I'm playing the same song, but you're way better than me^^,

  • You are VERY good

  • beautiful. i heard another version of this before but it was played slower with more emphasis

  • try to make left hand more... like "firmly".... and it would be nice with a piano where you could make more sound... the "angry" part of this ehh song, has to be VERY angry you know... otherwise, it's good ^^

  • Congrats man...that sounded great...

  • That was lovely!!! What an awesome piece!!!

  • Beautiful playing!! I'm trying to learn this as well. May I ask what kind of piano that is? I'm in the market for a digital myself, my acoustic deserves to be laid to rest, lol. It's lived a good long life as it is (50 years).

  • Doh! Disregard my question, I just scrolled down and saw someone had already asked. I feel like an idiot now, thanks anyways though. =)

  • It's such a nice song.

  • Awesome.

I know nothing about playing piano but your performance is lovely!!! Sounds great to me.

  • Aż się nie chce wierzyć że grasz tylko 4 lata! Fantastyczne granie!

  • bravo!!!!

  • That was very good!

  • wow nice job :)

wanna know what do you think about my interpretation :)

    let me know . bye

  • Thanks. Do you happen to know how the clp/cvp series (clp 230-280, or cvp 330-405) compare to the CP300 (a very good stage piano) in terms of piano sounds, and keyboard touch? Which is more realistic/dynamic and closer to a real grand piano?

  • unfortunately I have no such comparison; in this regard I would advice you to visit the piano shop and seek for an advice there. Or, try all these instruments by yourself and see which one you prefer the most. For myself the CLP-230 is quite close (in the terms of the 'touch') to real grand piano - keys are quite heavy, the dynamics is pretty OK. Hope this helps. Cheers.

  • In my honest opinion. c3p0 can be annoying at times, with his prattling. I like r2d2 better, he just beeps at times when it seems funny to beep.;) Sorry, I couldn't resist!

  • Great song! What brand/model of piano is this?

  • Yamaha Clavinova CLP-230. The sound itself come from the Steinberg the Grand Piano VST.

  • it sounds like that Halo 3 commercial

  • That's because this piece is used for the Halo 3 Commercial called "Believe" :)

  • one of my dream is to play this song....

    but i'm too fucking bad!!

  • But the piece and playing is very beautiful :)

  • truely amazing... 5/5 and in my favourites if i had to describe it in one woed it would be... "touching"

  • though, sorry. good job!

  • very good, i think you went a tad too fast thought.

  • brilliantly played by the way, five stars!

  • slow down a bit, in my opinion

  • trully amazing :)

  • Very well played. Sounds great even though it isn't played on an acoustic instrument. I feel that it is better than many of the more professional versions.

  • Good job.

    :)

  • Do you want a cookie?

  • well, u could download sheet music, but its illegal, so if you want it, you should buy it, or otherwise just play by ear, thats what i try to do... brilliantly played by the way, five stars!

  • its not illegal to download the music. chopin's works are in public domain.

  • Subtle and expressive, as was intended...♪

  • played perfectly (as far as I can tell ;) )!!! and no, it's not that hard to learn - I'm 19 and can play it, although it's only my hobby!

  • Excellent! This is awesome

This very piece inspired me to learn piano

  • seems like a very hard piece to learn... with all those flats

and just wnodering.. what kind of sound equipments do you use?? i wish my videos picked up bass like yours do

  • I'd be willing to bet he used a midi/audio out on his keyboard to record the sound directly to computer or otherwise, and later synched it with the video

  • Why are you being neg repped?! It is probably true, it is not detracting in any way from his ability! You guys should stop jumping to conclusions, evervans is probably right, you cannot hear the keys at all-anyone here played an electric piano??? Even on very soft notes you would be able to hear a very audible 'thump' from the keys!

  • They may have assumed I was implying something about the skill of the player or suggesting he does not play it himself. Just a misunderstanding. Of course I'm not suggesting that - rather just taking a guess at the method used to record his playing with the highest quality.

  • Excellent. Great job really.

  • i want sheet music to that
