  • This is so funny, one says it is illegal to use non FCC type accepted equipment the other says it is a free band, haha. Try using an illegal frequency when you interfere with a govt, or commercial transmission, you will see the van pool at your location in short order, with handcuffs, jail cells, large fines, prosecutors, judges, and long prison sentences. See you in ten years sucker. Then tell us whats legal and free, Eh?

  • Ham 555 is because it's the most active ~ simple as. Radio folk [usually] like to talk, they gravitate to where the action is and that's the CB 11 meter band.

Funny thing is technically, the CB is outside the Ham licence, to follow strict protocol, Hams should not use 11 meters ~~ of course it's a free public band so they are not stopped from using it ~ just a technical point, it's actually outside their licence.

In any event, in Europe the bounds are breaking down with Hams and CB in real

  • Why is this titled Ham Radio 555 ?. Its CB 555. Which I thought was suppose to be the calling frequency on 27 MHz SSB CB. Who gives a toss.? not these two talking on the calling frequency. Legal or not it is a International agreement to use it to establish a QSO then QSY. But everyone to their own . I wonder if they moan when somebody starts using High power over sky wave to drown them out. ? on their calling frequency.

  • I have the same radio (lol)

  • ok i see Ham, Amateur what is the difference?

  • nice cb radio bud keep up the good work

  • Ever been to a pickle park?

  • This is 100% illegal. The frequency of 27.555 is not for ham radio operators. Operating there within the USA can get you a fine of up to $10,000.

  • freeband is a great band in america!

  • Please, please , please never do what you are witnessing. All DX Clubs of the world use this frequency as the international call frequencey. You contact a station and QSY to another frequency. It is considered rude to tie up a call frequency for contesting or having a QSO.

    Long Live Alpha Tango.

  • Free radio for all !!!!

  • RE:Scottishanny; Not in HAM radio. You want free radio? Use a CB.

  • CB BANDS in Finland Are from 26 all up ti the end of 27

  • Power to the people!

  • What gets me.... is that all these people dissing 11m DX'ers when 99% of them are Licensed HAMS LOL!

  • @Pugragger I agree. It gets me when these old guys that have been ON The Air forever like to police everybody else. What a miserable life they must lead. I can promise you that at sometime or another they have all crossed the line! Hypocracy at its best!!

  • @rocknnmike Yeah, i don't mind saying that i have may of been naughty once, its a lot more bloody friendlier on 11 than other bands.

  • YORKSHIRE PIE EATERS

  • 27.555 Is NOT In the CB band. It IS ILLEGAL To transmit above 27.405 thrugh 28.000. It is also ILLEGAL to use HAM radios to Transmit on the CB Band.

  • CB frequencies in the UK go up to 27.99125

  • with a small gap between :P but thats the fun part

  • @NDSI4BL It is not illegal to use HAM radios to transmit on the CB band. It is illegal to transmit at a higher rated wattage than what is legally allowed. As long as you are not exceeding the mandated 3.5 watt limit it is perfectly legal.

  • 27.555 usb is what radio is about to me its a gentlemans agreement worldworld of good practice known to everyone as the freeband, I would rather use this than the normal cb with all the swearing and idiots.

  • Title need changed from ham radio 555 to ILLEGAL radio 555

  • he did not break the law, he has it set to general coverage receiver mode, and in that mode the radio CAN NOT TRANSMIT but can receive from 100KHZ up to 10 meters(27.95 -30.0 MHZ)

  • nice radio !!!!

  • jytme

  • Tune 'em in right. Sounds off freq.

  • It is my belief that you can own a HAM radio without a license you just can't transmit on it. Or maybe it was you cannot transmit on HAM frequencies. Something like that.

  • That's true - its perfectly legal to listen to amateur transmissions on a transceiver without a license. To transmit, however, you must have a license. However, 27.555 is in the CB band and a ham radio license does not permit you to transmit on this frequency, although the nearby 10 metre band (28-29.7MHZ) is allowed.

    73s DE MI6TUX

  • not if you have bouth,i have cb licence and ham licence, and i have more talk fun on CB BAND.......im sorry to say this....

  • real men transmit where ever they want and dont suck the gov's cock and beg for a lic to do so!!!!!! man up miss !!!!!

  • NOT TRUE...am ham and pay allso cb license and use yagi on 11meters with legal power of 4watts on the input of antenna,so im OK..!!! so dont insault other people because we ALL STARTED ON CB RADIOS FIRST.....7'3 from ON6....

  • Yep triple five is a nice relaxed place to take your radio to.

  • yess. i love it too. and im ham and pay for cb license too...i like triple 5...

  • Why oh why oh why are you holding a qso on an international calling frequency???

  • I get where you come from sir,it wouldn't hurt to qsy would it,its a flick of a switch or whatever, not digging a trench.

  • Hello Cq Cq, any Alfa Tangos around!!! signed a Ham that got his feet wet there on 555 when the sunspot cycle was good. single sidebanders are what is all about on these freqs. Cq DX!

  • Wow, these CB'ers really know there satellite stuff. I had no idea they went round the earth!!!!

  • Cool ! Yes today to much HAM thinks that they are different than the 11 meters DX'ers but in fact we have the same passion :

The radio and nothing is different between us

As the electronic is too complicated today!

We only did radio and DX...

We needn't to love electronic to enjoy the radio...

    73's HAM or CB'DXer

From your Wave Friend John from France

  • My dear sir,I couldn't agree more,I am a former c.b. guy who has just passed his ham license, and I will always love my times as a cb'er,like the man said 2mtrs does nothing for me either and really I am trying to get onto h.f.. 73's cheers and beers good buddy.

  • So this is what you passed your test on huh Jay? Why the need for a license? I don't know shit about these. You are going to be able to talk to me on this? That would be so COOL!! Let me know how they work. Don't I need one then to talk back to you? Write me back on my messages. Later buddy!!

  • will do mate, this is really interesting stuff,I like this cos it teally chills me out when the stress comes, gives me something nice to think about in a crazy world,I gotta work but will e mail you proper as soon as I can.

  • 27.555, a new ham band?????

  • no... 27.555 is a international dx monitor in 11 meters band(cb)

  • Keep it going

  • amazing how so few know how to properly tune an SSB signal. when properly tuned voices sound perfectly normal, not mechanical.

  • you would have to adjust vfo for every over when not all on the same frequency.

I can tell what they are saying so why bother retuning for every over.

  • true. if they arent zero beat then you would have to readjust. I find most hams are experienced enough to zero beat each other.

Anyway..... when I am listening I retune to hear natural voices rather than the mechanical sound. But that's just me ;)

  • Nice video, 27.555 very good

  • heh, sounds like a robot. propah uncanny

  • 555 for live.

    73s

  • needs to tune down a few cycles..so they wont sound like donald duck.

  • i love 555 keep it alive!

  • hamradio lolz

  • all cb is shit becoz they cheat you the pretend as a far station but they live in the same town

that people don't disurb to hear worldwide

    i hate 27mc

  • Nice, classic Icom rig! We Hams don't mind stations talking on 27.555 MHz, but PLEASE stay off the 10m CW band (28 MHz and up)! You have tons of space below 10 meters! Thank you.

  • it had to be 2 d"£!s from sheff 555 fake hams on their 148 cobra`s 300watt linears and still no one can hear them aprt from the whole street via the tv idiots m3...

  • Whats everybody's problem. 11 meters is a great band. I'm a ham operator and use 11 meters all the time to dx or contact friends in my country. Its what i used all the time before i got my licence and contacted stations all over the world. At least on this band one can have a proper conversation instead of talking to robot operators on other bands.

  • here here well said old boy ...11 meters is worldwide freeband.

everyone should try 27.025 AM , get your name shouted on the superbowl and get off the mud duck list.

  • it won´t brimg trouble with your local authorities to contact stations on 27,555 as a licenced ham?

  • MESSAGE: 1975 called, and it WANTS IT's CB BACK!!!

  • 27.555 is a pond for all the ducks :)

  • Bad boy 27.555 on a ham radio lol from 2e0lra 27.555 ( 26evq )

  • 27.555 is the international calling frequency..

all because you have leagal bands like 26.965 to 27.405 and 27.601 to 27.991, does'nt mean there's nothing in between..

also try 45mtrs 6.670 on LSB another good DX band...and there's several others to boot too..

  • 11 meters is 26 mhz to 28.000

  • Last time i checked 11 meter cb band was from 26.965 to 27.405 not 27.555. Well in the U.S. anyway.

  • i did pass the ham test but 11 is the best no log get a good ssb rig and dx qrp

  • nice rig shame its only used on cb what a waste

  • What makes you think it's only used on cb.??

  • do youknow anything about radio

  • Very niceee!!!! 27.555 great,,not only ham radio, eleven meters is a great band.

  • 11 meters is for totally radio-ignorant scumbag white trash morons and has been since Sept. 1958. A decent band has been ruined by these treasonous law-breaking cretins.

  • You shouldnt throw stones in a glass house 75meters is just as bad as ch19 on 11m

  • You my man sound like the ignorant one, its operators like you that are putting people off progressing to do their exam, I know because I an one of them. A lot of you Hams are even snobby towards newly qualified members.

  • this is true..absolutly true..."give my your name, give me your name" and then "fuck off" ....this are most of ham's.....not all but most of them...

  • its me ...is that rg 213 you got?

  • Yes it's the longest length i have that would reach my antenna up the tree.(see other vid)
