  • Are these singers Stamps Quartet or Blackwood Brothers?

    Anyway, they sing so good.

  • So good to see Mylon again!!!

  • I remember this group well. My family was singing on several occasions with them on stage at Dallas all nighter.

  • I started loving Southern Gospel back when I was in high school and I owe it all to Mylon (lol). I had such a crush on him when I was 15, couldn't miss a morning of watching them on Gospel Jubilee.

  • genial!!

    Great!!!

  • I love this version of the Stamps, especially their song "Im gonna see heaven" from the Singin Time in Dixie TV requests album. Jim Hill and John Hall are two of the best polished singers you'll ever hear, and they are both still living and singing well!

  • This is how you test people's voices. a mike and your voice. Everybody is singing from the chest!...

  • Pre-Jd Sumner, huh? These are probably hard to find. I also didn't know Mylon Lefevre and Jim Hill was in the Stamps Quartet before Jd. They both sang with him later.

  • @minorprophet2 James Blackwood and JD Sumner bought the Stamps name sometime between ''62-'64. That's when Lefevre was with the group. Around 1967 JD left the Blackwood Bro's to work with the STamps and took over the bass position from Hall. Lefevre and Jim Hill stayed on and they added JD"s nephew Donny and James "Jimmy" Blackwood jr.

  • I remember being fascinated with their suits with the sideways hanky...
