  • Actually they just kept chickens outside in those days, maybe with some shelter for night, so there was no problem with salmonella and that kind of stuff, because the animals were raised hygenically. Now commercial eggs come from chickens raised 4 to a 2x2" cage, their beaks are clipped and they basically suffer alot and when you eat that egg that comes from the factory you eat that suffering. It's really hard to pick up a store egg by the skin of the yolk, because the diet is so bad.

  • damn! i bet the E. Coli count on that 500 year old painting is large j/k i want to try it one day when i can use it effectively. i think doing it old school gives you great respect for old paintings on another level. it's kool

  • pig meat and egg yolk?

  • I really appreciate you posting this! Thank you! I will be attempting this very soon with my new pigments, board and gesso. I'm really excited!

  • thanks for the video but the sound was very looooow.

  • why not use gouache...its a lot less messy, and gives a similar effect.

After all in the old days of painting, they would have given their eye teeth to have tubes of paint, already mixed.

  • @daughterdebbie I think it's fun to try different techniques. You learn a lot more about the old ways of painting by actually doing it the way they did back then.

  • Very good demo but the sound quality is very poor. (Hard to hear).
