  • lmfao funny,

  • Hi seilinyaov, very cool projekt !

    Best Regards

    techodrom.de

  • You can sell this UTM and buy a good PC for media center.

And 50" LCD to view Blu-Ray Movies.

And buy a good audio system.

And video card for play games in HD.

  • And really do you pretend to make a mediacenter with an old PCI VGA????!??!?!?

  • wow next level nerd

  • What a waste of money. That box and the license alone is probably worth $10k+. Nice job dumbass.

  • Read your EULA. Dumbass.

  • hilarious - absolutely hilarious! Noticed that it says "Crossbeam Systems" on the BIOS screen too.

  • am i missing something?

    *not laughing yet*

  • It's great thing you did this but for future reference: dont zoom in so much.. it's really annoying. Go get a tripod.

  • celeron m 1.5? that's not slow hardware. if you are having trouble playing videos it's the shitty cirrus logic videocard you put in it....

  • How many network adapters does windows say that has.

Do 4 show up or is there some sort of proprietary driver for them?

  • The only interesting part was the installation of the VGA device and discovery of an otherwise standard PC inside the UTM-1. About 30 seconds of interesting and 7:30 of cleaning up loose ends.

  • two things: whats with the hammer-n-sickle and whats with those white gloves you have on?

  • who sad it is hard?

  • it was lame redhad (what i got from glib's) dist. they call it SPLA

  • bad techno music and crazy camera work almost put me into convulsions. i did something like this once but i started from and empty rack mount case from some old cable equipment and put a PC in there. but i made it a router not a "media center"

  • Aren't these units a little pricey to be using as media centers? Or is this something of a proof of concept?

  • i guess it could use a USB sound device for sound

  • congratulations - you've turned a pc into, um, another pc =/

Why not try and get a linux media center app running on secureplatform - there's a challenge :P

  • Hey, how did you get sound from this thing? Great job! The music made it a lot more fun to watch :)

  • oooh, good point, you never touched upon the sound portion, you did quite well with miss-spellings!

  • mmm ok, maybe slow hardware, but... what about running DamnSmallLinux (DSL) with a few video/Media players (ie: VLC Player) ?? With that kind of hardware DSL will fly! .. by the way. GREAT WORK :)!!

  • now running Gentoo :) i'm too lazy to make new video.

  • does it have a sound card built in? or another pci slot..??

  • no, no sound card, both a usb sound card. no 5.1 and only stereo, but it is ok.

  • yeah song? ;)

  • Whats the song?

  • songs used:

Evermore - It's Too Late (Dirty South Remix)

    DJ.Tiesto - Gouryella (Live At Innercity 2006)

please buy cd's if you like.

  • I was with you until you started installing Windows XP...ugh. Not exactly the best choice for this type of setup.

  • Linux OS is too hard for this hardware :)

  • Nice and clever!

    Y did u wear glove?

  • y gloves? cold!

  • i guess its something to do with the static discharge but i'm wondering why the latex gloves????

  • Nice to see someone doing something useful with a Checkpoint product. ;)
