Dear Anna Netrebko: There is a saying in many countries worldwide that reads:
"The remedy (medicine) is worse than the disease." Thou Anna, you have a disease (people who attack you) and the remedy (medicine) that you are using is not the most advisable, and until today confirms this reality. Not going to happen ANNA N. is fulfilled the saying, that the remedy is worse than the disease.

Traviata - Ms. Netrebko displayed ample power, coloratura bravura with a marvelous tone Having recently heard Natalie Dessay sing Sempre Libera at the Met Gala, one was impressed by the legato nature of Netrebko's portray in contrast to Dessay's intentional staccato, fragmented phrasing interpretation. Having also seen photos of Fleming in her current Violetta at the ROH, one can only marvel at Netrebko's resilience, endurance and commitment to bel canto opera.

WHAT is Tezler thinking? He looks like he's had a really hard night and another one to come, and he cannot bear it... was he sick? His face is all grey. Poor man!
This is clearly from a concert - there are other clips from the same production here on Youtube. Does anyone know if the concert is available for purchase on DVD (and, if so, title)?
I'm really impressed with everyone in this clip except Tezler, but I guess Rigoletto isn't supposed to stand out very much in this quartet. Netrebko sounds better than ever (and I'm not a fan), Vargas has a great stage presence, and Garanca is the best of the four.
This is an outstanding performance from all of the four singers. Of couse, Sr. Vargas is the star. He is the most experienced and has the longest career among the four. It's not a small task to have a stellar career like Sr. Vargas' (no hype, no marketing, a career solidly built with consistant outstanding performances).

Some people are beautiful, but have no good voices.
Some people are beautiful and have excellent melodic caressing angelic voices.
Some people have good voices, but it is hard to look at them,... you want to take the voice, but not the looks.
Take your pick,
