I was simply commenting on the judgment of the quarterback. Often, a quarterback can anticipate the potential blow that his receiver may take if he attempts to catch a thrown ball. This anticipation is part of his surveying the field before he throws the ball. I believe he did a poor job of protecting his receiver.
