  • @digztytwo...damn...Thanx for that digz

  • @freedomland11 lol i was joking. i'm proud you didn't argue with me though, i have huge respect for youtube users who don't everything as an argument.

your lyrics aren't bad, they just need to be laid down on the mic. right now they're like what a book, when a finished rhyme is like a movie, if you follow my metaphor.

  • @digztytwo... I get it homie..lol, thanks for the encouragement!! I never argue on youtube, such a time waster. Do you have lyrics posted anywhere else?

  • @freedomland11 websites like soundcloud are great for feedback, there's a much more positive community there than there is here. spit some shit, record it, then post it on soundcloud. listen to the feedback you get and once you're sure you've got it right, then post a video or two here.

  • @xtinabella

  • @JAYB1688 would you like there to be more?

  • Comment removed

  • @JAYB1688 only????

  • Thwack sound

  • The only reason why its hard to freestyle over this, is because it speaks for itself. (this song could win an award for best lyrics...somehow that does make sense).

  • what....what.....what chilling just thinking about one night/ same as the others. aint shit goin right/ well the brew hit right/ you know that feeling when your games all tight/ or at least enough to get a girl for night/ it took all my might!..for those 20 something minutes/ shit at least i got up in it/ now im spittin and grinning/ loving life and cuz of that im winning

  • pretty much terror....in ya era!!! i think that sample is from big daddy kane's voice

  • @theoriginalschool spit that truth son!!! be wise in all endeavors

  • lol

  • i think the most incredible feature in pete's beats are the basslines!!

    who's with me??

i mean it's amzing!! all of them have that funky but also smooth feel!

    gotta love them!!

  • @snowdjagha its just a filter of the original track he samples...

although it works so good, its not that hard.

  • @DjDafader just sometimes man! yeah he uses that little trick but sometimes he plays too!

  • I hope Pete Rock made shit like this for Kanye's Good Ass Job

  • well the intro to this song sucks compared to the original

  • Well! Well! Noting but pure talent in this brother.

  • bless the beats and bass, this dog might just eat ya face, you bring deep disgrace, to a game that lacks in space, make the scene a mess and leave with no trace, kings and queens around this ace, lookin like shrouded apes, too many minds are empty crates, too many guys temp these fates, fuck the fakes, i stay stan smiths fuck the bapes, words create shapes, and shapes make pictures.

  • un vrai chef d'oeuvre!

  • pete rock is the best ever!!!!!!!!!!

  • wtf?!!listen to theat 3 second intro, gives it a dope bounce, and the way the beat just drops in, wow. only the amazing Pete Rock

  • Comment removed

  • My friend gave me this on vinyl.

On the flip-side its got kenny dope and J Dilla.

  • Why do dj's take the sample, which is most of what the real song mostly consists of, and then make it the same name? You might as well just do a remake of the actual song.

  • @teelistrill Why not?

  • @teelistrill hmm i think the art of sampling is a kind of remake and/or cover version. so taking the original name is like a homage. of course its also for those people who always wanna know what sample has been used. ;-)

  • woooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooow shit man Pete is crazy

  • SICK TUNE!

    CHECK MY BEATS!

    PEACE

  • the best posting... the beats....

im not a producer but i make beats on fruitly loops occasionly and i always wanted the intstrumental to the original walk on by - by isaac hayes cuz that intro and the melody to it is just realness.

    pete rock is a god

  • I Can't Go To Sleep - Wu-Tang featuring Issac Hayes

  • ku ku means somethin elz where im from ...nikkel

  • well that's awesome for you my dude

  • Not my favorite pete rock track, but still solid! Love the wicked scratches during the chorus.

  • This is (imo) one of Pete Rock's smoothest beats ever.

it does so much, mainly it makes me reminesce about so much...even simple things like summer nights with a full moon (down at cape cod canal just thinking and being thankful).

    Pete Rock is inspiring.

  • how do i get this beat?

  • da mental

  • food for the soul

  • damn i made a song to this beat like 6 years ago

  • nice beat

  • who criticize pete rocks beats, especialy this, is a fucking brainwashed idiot.

  • nah dude you've just been criticizing sampling. I am sorry you don't recognize the skill and work these people put in, the thousands of hours searching through crates for those perfect beats. I read somewhere that Pete Rock never sampled a peice that is off tune. You gonna say he has no talent? real recognizes real is all I'm gonna say. One love

  • Hey man, I am not knocking Pete. If u read my other entries u would c where I am coming from.

  • pete rock and dj premier were the djs that took beats to the nxt level...go and listen to mecca and the soul brother and the main ingredient. this is a good beat, but his best work iis when he was with cl smooth. everybody has their own view on beats and if you can make beats from scratch, then good for you. make that difference and try to bring the true music back that way, dont try to criticize respected djs for taking beats to the nxt lvl.

  • I dont understand y y'all give producers that sample so much credit, knowing damn well they SAMPLED period. Whoeva did the original gets credit in my book, the SAMPLER is just biting. Just like another rapper biting another 's lyrics.

  • sampling has it's roots in the origin of hip hop. hip hop was created from isolating the percussion in funk songs, disco songs etc., very much like sampling. real hip hop beats r sampling, because old skool hip hop was much made from sampling.

sampling is an art, not many producers can do it right. some sample too much, like kanye. some can take a guy singing and make his vocal noise in2 a sick beat, like j dilla. if it weren't for sampling, there would be no hip hop out there.

  • its only biting if u take an already existing beat and add an effect or or a nosie here, like kanye....but if u do it right like pete does...then dats a real beat

  • In this case, besides the records scratching and addition of drums what did pete do differently?

  • altho this track is good....pete's made a lot better beats, so this isn't a good example of his full potential. like defjeff88 said, you gotta see him when he was in his prime: his Pete Rock and Cl Smooth days. Its talent if u can make beats on ur own without sampling, but c'mon, pete rock is highly influencial, where his style has influenced many great producers like j dilla and 9th wonder. its true, any1 can sample, but can every1 make it sound good by not overdoing it?

  • i dont listen to kanye because he jus went too commercial now...pete rock had a different taste on sampling and he puts soul into it.

  • Like Kanye....give the man the respect he deserves...he brought the soul into the new millenium

  • in my opinion, music today is pretty shit. it all sounds the same. I listen to underground and the classics. if u like mainstream music, including kanye, then hey, thats cool, but mainstream today is just whack in my opinion. and kanye....u actually like him using the vocoder? its begining to get over used, every1's using it and its annoying. and kanye's producing skills cant compare to pete's or any1 else's. all he does is take already existing songs and put hip hop beats to it or jsut effects.

  • lol, you try sampling a record man and see if you can create anything any where NEAR as dope as Pete Rocks fucking leftovers.

  • That is why my beats r all original.

  • lol id love to hear some of your beats with the amount of psuedo producer bullshit you are sprouting.

Post one or two on youtube and see how people judge them.

  • This is a track I produced for my african brother. Listen to the beat not the song. Type: Naija MC Dare. OMO BABA HUSTLER (Hustler's Son ) demo. Remeber it is all original- I am not saying I am the best but I don't sample none the least

  • Trick, may be pete can sample it and make it hot. haha lmao.

  • listen to the original of this track and the only difference is the addition of his drums stupe. Plus sampling is the easiest thing if u can work ur sampler. In my case with the MV-8000, u can just snap ur finger and it is done. I am not knocking their hustle all I am saying Y'ALL SHOULD NOT GIVE THEM CREDIT LIKE THEY CREATED THE DAMN BEAT ORIGINALLY.

  • I HATE HATERS

  • yeah!!

I cant fuckin stand intolerant people either!!!

    lol.

  • Tight Real tight, and I'm ole' skool-bumble52

  • U bein mines iz like a dream it seemz/A woman for da love, not da bling and thingz/Strong female figure, far from a gold digger/Type of girl who getz me to look at da whole picture/Damn,I wish I wuz wit cha/Itz been a hour and I miss ya/Gettin a bit jealous wen ur boyfriend kiss ya/He best not ever put tearz in ya eyez and must realize ur love is life's ultimate prize/Listen to me,Im jus babblin/I know we'll never happen/All I can do iz kick dis Rappin-

  • And continue down da road like nothin ever happened/Get back to mackin, since u aint da one Im attractin/Run into more hoez wit no soul/Oh no,same shit, different day, here it goes/Dey cant act properly/Their energy iz sloppy/Alwayz tryna play me like a game ov monopoly/

  • wack ass shit. you should commit suicide

  • Not before u. Please, u go ahead first.

I love how people such as u talk shit on how other people's shit is wack, but dont put on anything...Now go and think about that.

  • Pete Rock is the G.O.A.T The true element of hip hop is analog!!!!

  • DJ Premier?

    Stoupe'///

There are too many great producers to actually be able to categorise them...

  • Quudus ARtise killed this..holla at me if you wanna hear it..true hiphop heads only

  • as you walked on by,i sparked the lye, and put the smoke in the sky,but baby you caught my eye,cuz you were lookin kinda thick,so some game i wanna kick,so i could maybe taste yo lipstick, and see what i can get you to lick,so i rolled on over and tapped you on the shoulder, you turned around kinda slower, and smacked me in the face, then sprayed me with the mace, and took off like a footrace, left me lookin like i just hit the freebase haha fuck bitches one love

  • Pete Rock goes down as a producer who way under the radar but drops classic shit.

  • shits hard

  • that vocal sample was used on the song main ingredient with CL

  • I love this beat... I can see an artist like Rae spittin on this

  • haha what the fuck rae would ruin this song

  • listen peterspud is right, some of pete's tracks should be left untainted with any sort of vocals.

  • If somebody had to rap to this, the best choice would probably be mos def

  • who is rae? I hope hes not one of those jiggied-out southern emcees please....

  • Rae = Raekwon... no buffoonery southern rappers in my play listing.

  • rae is raekwon from wu-tang, mos def wouldnt sound that good. you need a mc that is pretty monotonous with a consistant flow. Like premo used guru and pete rock used cl almost as instruments or drums. Anybody outside of that i think Jay-z, Big L and Az would all be alright. its a NYC beat with NY drums so get a NYC flo

  • shiiit this is chill....pete rock is tops

    @miketonz:

    yo don't forget "Warning"

    RIP Christopher Wallace

  • yes i believe he is an idiot, he cant comprehend the word instrumental, or good music for that mattter
