pete rock and dj premier were the djs that took beats to the nxt level...go and listen to mecca and the soul brother and the main ingredient. this is a good beat, but his best work iis when he was with cl smooth. everybody has their own view on beats and if you can make beats from scratch, then good for you. make that difference and try to bring the true music back that way, dont try to criticize respected djs for taking beats to the nxt lvl.
I dont understand y y'all give producers that sample so much credit, knowing damn well they SAMPLED period. Whoeva did the original gets credit in my book, the SAMPLER is just biting. Just like another rapper biting another 's lyrics.
sampling has it's roots in the origin of hip hop. hip hop was created from isolating the percussion in funk songs, disco songs etc., very much like sampling. real hip hop beats r sampling, because old skool hip hop was much made from sampling.
sampling is an art, not many producers can do it right. some sample too much, like kanye. some can take a guy singing and make his vocal noise in2 a sick beat, like j dilla. if it weren't for sampling, there would be no hip hop out there.
its only biting if u take an already existing beat and add an effect or or a nosie here, like kanye....but if u do it right like pete does...then dats a real beat
altho this track is good....pete's made a lot better beats, so this isn't a good example of his full potential. like defjeff88 said, you gotta see him when he was in his prime: his Pete Rock and Cl Smooth days. Its talent if u can make beats on ur own without sampling, but c'mon, pete rock is highly influencial, where his style has influenced many great producers like j dilla and 9th wonder. its true, any1 can sample, but can every1 make it sound good by not overdoing it?
in my opinion, music today is pretty shit. it all sounds the same. I listen to underground and the classics. if u like mainstream music, including kanye, then hey, thats cool, but mainstream today is just whack in my opinion. and kanye....u actually like him using the vocoder? its begining to get over used, every1's using it and its annoying. and kanye's producing skills cant compare to pete's or any1 else's. all he does is take already existing songs and put hip hop beats to it or jsut effects.
This is a track I produced for my african brother. Listen to the beat not the song. Type: Naija MC Dare. OMO BABA HUSTLER (Hustler's Son ) demo. Remeber it is all original- I am not saying I am the best but I don't sample none the least
listen to the original of this track and the only difference is the addition of his drums stupe. Plus sampling is the easiest thing if u can work ur sampler. In my case with the MV-8000, u can just snap ur finger and it is done. I am not knocking their hustle all I am saying Y'ALL SHOULD NOT GIVE THEM CREDIT LIKE THEY CREATED THE DAMN BEAT ORIGINALLY.
U bein mines iz like a dream it seemz/A woman for da love, not da bling and thingz/Strong female figure, far from a gold digger/Type of girl who getz me to look at da whole picture/Damn,I wish I wuz wit cha/Itz been a hour and I miss ya/Gettin a bit jealous wen ur boyfriend kiss ya/He best not ever put tearz in ya eyez and must realize ur love is life's ultimate prize/Listen to me,Im jus babblin/I know we'll never happen/All I can do iz kick dis Rappin-
And continue down da road like nothin ever happened/Get back to mackin, since u aint da one Im attractin/Run into more hoez wit no soul/Oh no,same shit, different day, here it goes/Dey cant act properly/Their energy iz sloppy/Alwayz tryna play me like a game ov monopoly/
as you walked on by,i sparked the lye, and put the smoke in the sky,but baby you caught my eye,cuz you were lookin kinda thick,so some game i wanna kick,so i could maybe taste yo lipstick, and see what i can get you to lick,so i rolled on over and tapped you on the shoulder, you turned around kinda slower, and smacked me in the face, then sprayed me with the mace, and took off like a footrace, left me lookin like i just hit the freebase haha fuck bitches one love
rae is raekwon from wu-tang, mos def wouldnt sound that good. you need a mc that is pretty monotonous with a consistant flow. Like premo used guru and pete rock used cl almost as instruments or drums. Anybody outside of that i think Jay-z, Big L and Az would all be alright. its a NYC beat with NY drums so get a NYC flo

in my opinion, music today is pretty shit. it all sounds the same. I listen to underground and the classics. if u like mainstream music, including kanye, then hey, thats cool, but mainstream today is just whack in my opinion. and kanye....u actually like him using the vocoder? its begining to get over used, every1's using it and its annoying. and kanye's producing skills cant compare to pete's or any1 else's. all he does is take already existing songs and put hip hop beats to it or jsut effects.

lol, you try sampling a record man and see if you can create anything any where NEAR as dope as Pete Rocks fucking leftovers.

That is why my beats r all original.

lol id love to hear some of your beats with the amount of psuedo producer bullshit you are sprouting.
Post one or two on youtube and see how people judge them.

This is a track I produced for my african brother. Listen to the beat not the song. Type: Naija MC Dare. OMO BABA HUSTLER (Hustler's Son ) demo. Remeber it is all original- I am not saying I am the best but I don't sample none the least
kwaseb 2 years ago
Trick, may be pete can sample it and make it hot. haha lmao.

listen to the original of this track and the only difference is the addition of his drums stupe.

If somebody had to rap to this, the best choice would probably be mos def

who is rae? I hope hes not one of those jiggied-out southern emcees please....
vinavichi 2 years ago
Rae = Raekwon... no buffoonery southern rappers in my play listing.
subwicked02 2 years ago 3
rae is raekwon from wu-tang, mos def wouldnt sound that good. you need a mc that is pretty monotonous with a consistant flow. Like premo used guru and pete rock used cl almost as instruments or drums. Anybody outside of that i think Jay-z, Big L and Az would all be alright. its a NYC beat with NY drums so get a NYC flo
