  • Nasa is using them so they must be good

  • they ordered 1000 of them!

  • this could have been made years ago...intel just insists on slowly developing parts so that they can get more of our money. thank god for amds competition or we would still be stuck on single core...

  • well thats true but money is not their motivation, Intel is an Illuminati company

they are developing chips centuries ahead of what the consumer is allowed to purchase

its not about money its about control control control

check out DR. deagle on you tube

  • intell is such an ass...i want 16 cores now >:|...how am i supposed to play crysis with 1 core?

  • Y wud u still have 1 core?? I'm @ 4 cores juss like everyone else.

  • You dont know much about the development of cpus, do you? The reason we did not have multi core proccessor is that the frequencies of the cpus were not so high that they didn't consume lots of power. It is a lot harder for the programmer to write programs to use all the cores or cpus efficiently. But now we reach the frequency bound. We need to have better organisation of the microproccessors and softwares in order to have better performance while not consuming more power.

  • can anybody say octacore with me? cant wait!

  • now i have to get up another 450 bucks for a new motherboard, because of no more x38 setup compatibility, their following AMD, amd think something up then intel copies it later, why not put gpu and cpu together.

  • im with you on the give up another 450 but i have to choose between waiting for that and probably spending more since being new will cost a lot or getting an e8400 wolfdale and overclocking that =( i wish amd would come out with something that just rapes whatever is on the market at the time

  • Im gonna miss my 780i!! I don't see y dey don't make it compatible for previous motherboards. It wud save me alot of MONEY!

  • Dang echo. I cannot wait!

  • Can't wait...GIMMMMMMMME!

  • Nehalem, a product of Oregon.

Makes me proud to live in the Pacific Northwest :D

And Nehalem has me very excited :D

  • the sound is so bad i understand like 20% of it :(

  • same =/ but its thx to the echoe in the huge area they are placed in for this announcement

  • not so sure about the effect of multiple threads of each core...

sounds more like marketing to me, though that's just a guess.

Even they admit that their 1600mhz fsb provides litle if any performance benefit

  • depends on the work environment. multithreading is great for media encoding and server work loads.

as for the bus improvement. little benefit for home users, tremendous benefit for people using systems with 1000+ processors.

  • so complex the average youtube viewer cant understand it. maybe if someone shows this tech while riding a skateboard

  • or maybe if the sound quality was better than it is...you have to turn the volume way up just to understand half of it thanks to the echoing of their voices
