I debate creationist and theistic evolutionists all the time, it's come apparent that you can never win a debate with either. You can debunk any argument they make and they completely ignore anything that contradicts their beliefs.

e.g. (for theistic evolutionists.) If you believe in evolution, then you believe that their was no first man or woman, meaning no original sin, meaning no need for Jesus to die for our sins, meaning the bible is fake.

I've never had a reply from that statement.

I don't think you should lose the debate if you talk about Nazi. As long as it is relevant and not an act of trying to poison the wells, then it should be allowed. Your laws, however, are perfectly fine.

Usually it is an attempt to distract, or it's the "comparing some one to Hitler" fallacy. Hence why they lose.
