I feel a strong link between the feeling this song and the feeling Goethes book "Reineke Fox" delivers. Goethe described this fable he wrote as an unholy bible of the world. Although most people won't be able to understand this link (how many Dylanfands are into german literature?), I can assure you it's fitting.
it's an effort by the media to react against Dylan's "Jesus years". it's Bob's ultimate protest. The persuasions behind the media are so petty, it's like his song "Masters of War". He's just finding a way to escape the back pocket. While the lynch mob is praying when lightning strikes the court house, the victim escapes. the ones who seemed religious were manipulated by malevolence behind the scenes until they themselves are facing death. They never realize until it's too late.
Watched the movie.... still not sure what the movie was about. But with Charlie Sexton and Larry Campbell on guitar, Tony Garnier on bass and George Receli on drums ... that is definitely one killer band!!
Wonderful potential, terrific talent .. total disaster of a movie.
One of these days there may be a feature about the man that isn't such pretentious twaddle (and don't give me 'I'm Not There', which isn't much better, albeit prettier photographed).
awesome growl

He maybe not the greatest actor, but at least he tries.
Dylan, always shown his courage to do new things.
I absolutly love this movie, strange but, that`s the way I like it.

I don't think I understand it, but Goodman's speech here is hilarious.

the movie is much much better than its reputation - Dylan can't act - ok - but the rest Jon Goodman, Luke Wilson are great
