  • @TheRaidersrock123 Way to go! It sure is a lot of fun isn't it? Now your hooked, once you catch your first sturgeon it is all over! I hope that you have pictures, I would like to see you with your monster! Catch you later.....

  • i wish i live close to those store in marysville and yuba city, they always have bait for a long time, i usually drive 45 min to marysville to buy bait then hit princeton to fish.

  • @Omicron530 Yeah we stop by Johnson on our way through from Grass Valley.

  • thats a good sturgeon you got there, man i wish my sturgeon jump like yours, but every time i go out fishing on sac river none on my sturgeon jump. theres only one time it jump was about 50-60 yards from the bank and the line broke when it went back down. that was only 15 sec after i set the hook, have you guys been out lately this year 2012. i also fish north of colusa and south of highway 162. good catch, wish you guys luck this year.

  • @Omicron530 If you want a sturgeon to jump you have to get after them early in the year when the water is cold. Also you need to push your fishing equirment to the limit and put pressure on the fish. If I know that a fish is over the slot limit I toss finesse out and horse these fish, combat style! We are going to attempt a trip in February, but now the storm door is opening, so who knows. Best of luck!!!

  • nice.. what part of sac?

  • @JaydenzDaddy1 It is up above Colusa.

  • what bait do u use?

  • @williamvas1 Ghost shrimp and pile worms.

  • @1fishbreath do you happen to know where u can get that bait?

    thanks

  • @williamvas1 We get our bait from Johnson's Bait and Tackle in Yuba City. Bring a credit card....Bait is not cheap!!!

  • i love fishing! XD

  • she's 66" + did you cut her loose?

  • @Weezyfan82 Of coarse we let her go, she was 75". She never came into the boat. Roll them over on their backs along side of the boat and they are as calm as can be.

  • @1fishbreath I fish near verona, free port, and also near the sac intl airport. My favorite river to fish in. Never caught a sturgeon tho always wanted to. Just never had the luck i guess.

  • Were was this location at?

  • @sacbiggamefishing It is up above Colusa. What part of the Sac do generally fish?

  • this is why I love the Sacramento River.

  • @los3charros Estimated between 100-125 pounds.

  • lol trout rod. but I agree that 2x4 is no fun.

  • nice video bro.. wat kind of bait u was using ghost shrimp??

  • @sliccbitch88 Yeah a ghost shrimp/pile worm combo.

  • If I was hauling in a Sturgeon like that, I would giggle like a school girl too! Nice work , awesome fish. Walleye rod eh?

  • @jaystewart01 Yes Jay, a Walleye Rod. Where is the fun in fighting a fish with a 2x4?

Brett with Bare Bones Guide Service uses Trout rods. I believe that they are 8' rods with Calcuta reels.

  • Cool video! It is great feeling the anglers excitement of fighting a truly huge fish. Where did he get that laugh? Also very nice still frame action of the sturgeon leaping out of the water. I want to go!!!
