the number of times I have had to rescue mice from my cats. Mice, birds, frogs, even goldfish from other people's houses.

But I always rescue them and hide them from the cat.

It's a little cruel to just watch a mouse die needlessly and do nothing. I would have resued it.

The cat is only an hour away from having a tin of catfood, so why let a mouse die?

Die needlessly? The cat will benefit from superior nutrition if s/he eats a fresh caught mouse. That's why we domesticated them in the first place. There are too many mice in the world to protect them from housecats.

@rabmcnab1 You can look it up if you gont belive me but bacteria cant grow in honey. In fact it can be used as an emergancy anti-bacteria gard on fresh wounds and can help sooth the pain of mild burns. This anti-bacterial growth property is one reason why honey can last for so long.
