  • Yeah, it's amazing how what was "hi-end" electronics and technology USED TO be manufactured in Europe and the US and manufactured PROFITABLY.

In the US (my own country) this lasted until the transistor revolution; Presidents Eisenhower and Kennedy BEGGED the domestic electronic industry to keep pace, but they refused and it all moved to Asia.

  • What a fabulous discovery for Hylton fans like me! Im stoked watching this great early talkie short. It's amazing , I have a 1931 radio gramophone similar so its a double treat! thanks a million.5 stars!!

  • The commercial recording has now been posted on here.

  • Great!!! Somebody had a video up, I think on Youtube, with the Hylton record instead of the film soundtrack, because the film track sounded TERRIBLE--loaded with phase distortion. Seems as though Pathe has made another transfer of the film. It's definitely not the commercial recording, and it's excellent.

  • Hi furlight,

very interesting the vid....and the title of Choo Choo also.... Very good!!!! Five stars from me

  • jack hylton came to Barcelona for the first time in 1930 during WORLD´S EXPOSITION i have the poscards and edited propaganda... he sell lots of records and during 30s and 40s in the families we play hundreds of times these beloved tunes ... our jazz fans take the records better than Ellington ones and generally the musicienship of brittish maestros were higher than their american blake improvisationalism.thanks deeply from Barcelona .Spain

  • great video on Jack Hylton -- probably one of the best devoted to a British band ever on the internet

  • wow, great video, seldom too. i just collect theese kind of records, and jack hylton is on of my favorites, and btw: i have this title "choo choo" in original at my collection too :-) thanks so much

    say hello from berlin, germany

  • Hi, I like your video and have rated it as awesome. Please check out my vid clip of some rare jazz musicians and dance band Leaders cigarette cards, issued in 1936. They include Jack Hylton, Cab Calloway, Duke Ellington and many more.

  • Thanks for showing us that piece of little history. This is for sure a face of Jack Hylton's work we rarely think about ! :-)
