  • I worked in a shop in London a few years ago and a ginger haired bloke walks in.

I was convinced I knew him from school and while he was walking around I'm racking my brains as to what year he was in. After about 5 minutes he goes to leave and I ask him if he went to the same school as me. He says no. I keep at it - "You must have. Where do I know you from because I definitely know you from school."

"You probably know me from Grange Hill mate - I played Trevor Cleaver!" he says.

    LOL

  • Mark Savage who played Gripper Stebson has recently made an appearance in an independent film called 'Total Reaction'. The independent film is made my Trinity X Productions and his role was a butcher! The trailers are on our channel!

  • @TrinityXProductions thanks for the update information on the wehereabouts of Gripper! ;-)

  • but I know he did do things like that (maybe not always in public)

  • I don't know what I was thinking

  • Good Lord ! - Im sorry

  • Was that John Pertwee in the background picking his nose?

  • Aww, I miss '80s Grange Hill, I remember a bit of the Danny Kendall storyline the first tine around, but really watched it on the Sunday CBBC repeats. Bronson was terrifying!

  • Reminds me of my grand young days in Birmingham before I moved to Jamaica...loved these days.

  • wasn't the actor who played Tegs in a one off BBC drama come comedy about a tour operator some years back?? I seem to recall he was! And I think Amanda Burton (the actress in New Tricks) was also in that one off series! It was a bit like the Sky Tv series "Mile High" though not as "glossy" or magazine style but it was centred on a holiday company in Spain or Tenerife?

  • @MovieMad007 yes he was, it's Sean MacGuire, he was a character in Eastenders and a BBC kids programme called 'Dodgem'.

Then after leaving UK television industry, he was a main role in the states as an character in the series called 'The Class' (not quite HOUSE MD but still complete with US accent), which was a later rip-off of Friends. And he was the guy who played the Leonidas piss-take in 'Meet the Spartans'.

  • @MovieMad007 btw, that tv programme was called 'Sunburn' it was on in 2000.

  • justine???? - is she or is she not Samantha Janus?

  • @MovieMad007 oh no no Samantha Janus was miles hotter (and probably older than Justine). Check out the girl in GAME ON the 90s sit-com about two bachelors sharing a flat, and she's the girl in it.

  • Please please could you up load the rest of series 12 all episodes or please tell me where i could buy them!!!!!!

  • Holloholloways channel has been taken off youtube :(

    how fucking sick is that.....

    youtube are complete cunts!!!

  • @sepul071200

FUCKKK. why was it taken off?

Now i have no chance of seeing series 14.

    CUNTS!

  • @stellen11

youtube and looks like bbc have had it chopped,

    fucking sick innit,

no more g-h on youtube :(

  • wheres the rest of the episode i started watching series 5 but it appears to have been removed grrrrrr

  • if i'd of talked to the head of our school with that 'attitude', they'd of beat me to death

  • WOW do you remember when we WALKED to school!!!!? No pervs, no Chelsea tractors and we weren't afraid of the weather!

    What happened???

  • jeez i remember this one , i have near on a full collection on dvd of grange hill up to 97

  • @TheRoseHair

hello where can i buy the copies of Grange Hill that you have? I'm looking for the whole of series 12 all episode,or would you mind uploading them please?

  • @healthystyle I don't have any series, I just have the odd episode...I'm sure the beeb would bring out more series, after the first series. I'm disappointed they never did Byker Grove though.

  • Cheers for the credit in the notes :) You sound very much like me. I am after Bad Bouys too. Also Chish n Fips, Palace Hill, Round the Bend, Your Mother Wouldn't Like it, amongst many others.

  • @blizzarduk Yes this is the person who originally transferred Grange Hill episodes to digital format - most of the material seen on yt is down to BlizzardUK :)

  • Mr Robson was a great character...and longest serving cast member

  • It s that liberal mindset from some teachers that caused it all to go wrong and now you have kids using knives and guns!

  • I knew a teacher like Bronson. Bastard.

  • this may sound sad but iam 27 and i remember this tv and it always brings a smile 2 my face best kids TV ever by a country mile

  • who would win in a fight? Mr Bronson or an orc?

    ;)

  • Bronson!

  • great to watch these episodes, takes me back , fantastic world of you tube , thanks for posting. :-)

  • This clip goes to show the eras that Mr Robson spanned at Grange Hill . His early days with classic characters such as Mr Bronson, Mrs Mcclusky, Zammo, Trevor Clevor, etc. When he left in 2003 he was alongside modern classics such as "togger".

  • I had the hots for Georgina, what a babe.

  • yes a total babe from my childhood TV, 'oooooo yeah' cue the music in Ferris Bueller !

  • totally

  • @arita2006 I was love sick over her.

  • Yeah Mr Bronson has played Hitler a number of times in movies and tv i read once. R.I.P Bronson

  • Great!!!

Haha - Mr Bronson. I'm sure I saw him playing Hitler in some war film.

  • Yeah he was Hitler in Raiders of the Lost Ark

  • He was definitely in Last Crusade is the one with the Nazi procession, in which Indy bumps into Hitler and he sign his dad's diary (containing the maps for finding the grail!)

  • @indyandsam last crusade actually

  • The Bronson and Kendal thing really was operatically epic in almost Wagnerian way, wasn't it. Now I see it again, I was laughing on the floor at Bronson at the end of this clip. How much hate can a teacher have for one pupil? "Time that Boy was brought.....into.....lllllliiiiiiiiinnnneee!" LOL

  • Yes at the time, it went over my head, and never understood it further than Kendal being a very naughty boy. But looking back it dramatised the weaknesses in allowing a harsh-minded disciplinarian (who never heard of encouraging pupils), pursue a teenager with adjustment problems.

  • we last had the painters in lol ! :P

  • Oh my God though. It's Fresh and Fly though. She's Fresh, I'm Fly...

  • Georgina oh wow I fanced her when I was younger, I wonder where most of the actors and actress are now?

I would so do Georgina :D

Good show in a great era for kids, the internet and being PC has ruined everything now, music and tv is all crap:(

Atleast we all came to earth on the right time :)

  • What is the blondes name at the start? I had a major crush on her.

  • 7:19 Says BANKER on the board, with a rather faint B :D

  • Goegina was my 1st teenage wank she broke my cherry

  • Hang on, Bronson had no moustache when he got out of the cab and by the end of the programme he had one!!!

  • You're right, geeeynius for spotting that polecatz. Bit like continuity errors from 'Krypton Factor' or 'The Movie Game'.

  • remember this episode scarily well... Bad Boyes was awesome, had the book too, the bully Edward Slog was terrifying, similar themes from GH I seem to recall

  • oh man, I would love to see an episode of either 'Bad Boyes' or 'Gruey (/-Twoey)', they were sort of an escapism for me in primary school, as they kinda represented loveable and dysfunctional role models! (I was a too much of a goody-twoshoes)

  • Dont forget Simon and the witch.

  • Mr Bronson still scares the shit out of me :(

  • Anyone seen what they've done to Grange Hill now?? WHAT is that all about? Love retro GH, was compulsive viewing back in the day!

  • God bless Bronson

  • Calley was the one she was fit

  • Yes, Georgina was fit.

    Ronnie Birtles was alright too.

    As was Faye.

  • georgina was proper hot ! 80's hill was quality

  • Got to love Bronson's syrup!

  • ha ha trev the sex pest dont blame him i thought she was fit too..

  • when Grange Hill was BRILLIANT.

  • Does any body remember when Julie from Eastenders (Guses brother)was in GH he was Big Trevs mate.

  • but ofcourse, he was a ringleader of the group that bullied the gay art teacher..and when there was a footie match and another school team were picking on the teacher, he came up with the famous line: 'he may be a poof, but he's OUR poof!'.. around 1994 or 1995..

  • Haha classic line. im just DL series 14 and 15 hopefully Julie is on them.

  • i used to fancy justine so much and that georgina was alright too!

  • this was defo the golden period.. - wish the re-runs would start again on sunday mornings!!

  • Danny Kendall, also known as Mr Mcain for the bag of chips he always had on his shoulder.

Anyway, Love Grange Hill from the 80's early 90's as it was when I was a kid. Classic :D

  • I remember the early episodes and think I was about 10 at the time, the new GH is nothing compared to the older episodes.

  • Awesome! :D I had just started secondary school when this series aired! I feel old! I wonder if Severus Snape was based on Mr Bronson? ;D

  • Some class acting there at the end. Not over the top or anything.

  • Mr Bronson, the Darth Vader of Grange hill lol

  • I would trade my rear molars to be back in the 1980's. My God, how I miss those days.

I may be in my mid 30's, but in my heart, it's always the Eighties.

    Who's with me?

  • well iam 32 now and i really enjoyed the 80's-it might be because i was younger then but i think the 80's was on par with a kid growing up and enjoying the 60's - iam quite setimental with bygone days from the past.

  • yes im with you on that one. grange hill was

great too. would love to live the 80,s again

  • I agree with TEABAGBOB, I too would love to go back to the 80s. Young, free, single and careless with no family to look after or responsibility. Life was much better then without a shadow of a doubt.

  • I'm definately with u! I'm 31 and so miss the 80's. Used to love watching Grange Hill after school!

So wish I could go back in time!

  • i'm coming with you, those days were the best

  • I'm definately with u! I'm 31 and so miss the 80's. Used to love watching Grange Hill after school!

So wish I could go back in time!

  • @teabagbob 80's rule- music, fashion, TV & games were the best!

  • @lesterroberts1 I am amazed when I walk down Old Street and see all the young uni student have adopted more-or-less eighties fashion, from their hair to their stripey socks. When did this happen?!

  • @teabagbob Eighties were exciting. the media culture of today is in a large way a continuation of what the eighties began.

  • Comment removed

  • @teabagbob IM WITH U MATE THE 80S WERE AWESOME.

  • @teabagbob

    i'm with you teabagbob

  • Was such a good programme throughout the 70s 80s up untill about 94'. After that i think it lost it's magic and just seemed like any other drama series. When i watched it in the 80's i felt i was watching a real school and my mates. RIP Grange Hill, you was such a very important programme that people my age will never forget.

  • The 70s to 90s GH characters were iconic in their time, and GH was used as a canvas for portraying every day issues. The other long-running, london-based BBC soap continues to reflects current-day life in it's unique style. But 'enders lacks the childish charm of GH. And it's sad to see it's current demise into obscurity.

  • You see the current GH is rubbish since the BBC had this brain wave of saving money and moving their production up NORTH. It's then that it went downhill. Shame I loved the 80s

and GH London reminded me of myt school and peers too. RIP GH London.

  • LAST BATCH OG GOOD CHARACTERS!!

  • These ones were great, loved all these characters, Gonch, Ziggy, Trevor etc....

  • oh my god brings back good memories. Used to love this

  • Gonch

  • What has happened to the clip where Mr Bronson is in the broom cupboard with Andy Crane? It seems to have disappeared off You Tube.

  • I used to fancy Miss Booth like hell (still do) :D

  • love all the charecters from this series!

  • Danny kendal died

  • Brings back some memories!

    Thanks for posting

  • any idea what year this was?

  • every idea it was 1989, autumn to be precise..

  • Cheesy and boring but nice to see nevertheless.

  • How good was that?! Thanks for uploading! They don't make em like they used to. There were so many great characters back then and the writing was great too. It reminds me so much of my own high school.

  • yes it's all about the characters, and the community they make. That's why kids would tune in, they could relate so easily to GH, and Byker Grove, Children's ward, Press Gang..

  • Attention - no more DVDs of Grange Hill are going to be released due to poor sales of series 1-4. Boo!

  • wher did you read that? it's a real shame..not happy about that.

  • It's on the official Grange Hill website. Can't remember the address offhand but if you google Grange Hill it should come up

  • I used to have such a crush on Georgina when I was a kid.

  • Was she the lesbish one?

  • excellent old days were the best

  • check out the sunbeam car,my first ever, rotted before my eyes.

  • i remember that show.i kept thinking it was going to esculate into extreme violent! but it didnt....

  • what do we pay our tv license for when they cant please us with graphic violence before the 9 watershed??? its not on hmmm no

  • Trevor comes to school with no bag ?

  • no bag, no worries, no brain either(!) He was that kinda guy.. :p

  • Mauler was a total cock-spank

  • oh yea i saw gonch working in napoleon casino in Leicester square around 2001....life is real

  • Brian Arthur Derek Boyes. i.e Bad Boys. that was a tonque in cheek comedy kids show. miles better than this realism

  • justine deane dont know her real name but she got fitter in later years of her being in the programme used to fancy her like crazy

  • I used to have a crush on Rachel Vicky Roberts also!

  • Thanks for telling me her real name i could not remember

  • I used to have a crush on Ziggy! LOL! And Zammo too! he's one of my Myspace mates! LOL!

  • I dissagree with the programme being on its arse.I think this was the last time Grange Hill had any interesting and believable Charaters that people cared about. From Tucker,Gripper, Zammo and Roland to Ziggy Gonch,Danny, Bronson,Amelda Davis and co.After 1989 the programme hit the shits and hasnt been the same since because the worlds changed and so friggin politically correct.Grange Hill wasnt afraid to push the envelope back then on race and drugs and create credible characters. Now its Shit.

  • Bronson was the dogs bollocks. The characters here were some of the best it's ever had, a long with the original first 2-3 series

  • I use to have teachers like this back in the day.Old school over proffesional Teachers.I loved Danny Kendell.Shame the little dwarf killed himself in Bronsons car in the end that was disturbing to watch even now.

  • the programme was on its arse by this point .. give me the glory days of tucker jenkins .. pogo patterson and zammo mcguire anyday

  • lol, go on, tell us more about those days!

  • yes, but child acting is sometimes a reflection of the directing style of the time. I think kids were more restricted in their expression on telly in the 90s. Sean MacGuire was not a terrible actor. Likewise kids in 'Children's Ward', with the exception of the streeter 'Press Gang'.

  • Sean Macguire is strictly Hollywood now ! x

    Thxs Gr8t post.

  • Was about this kid called William Boyes who always seemed to get the upper hand overhis nagging teacher and the school bullies, that show was totally class!!!

  • yes you mean Bad Boyes..yeah I'm still waiting for someone to find this..

  • My Aunty was having her twins at this time.

  • Fxxkin brilliant. These are the episodes i remember the most, i see theyve brought out the original first few series 1-4, hope they release these on dvd. Something i never thought i'd see again. AHH Happy times :)

  • I'm gonna put up some more 'clips' (so I don't get banned from youtube) from the late eighties and early nineties in the next month.

  • That was brilliant!

If a teacher escorted a pupil to skl like that in this day and age, she'd be flung in jail. Sad times.

    Bronson's a legend! o_O

Was that guy with the red hair the same guy that plays Ian Beale in Eastenders?

  • Nah she wouldn't. Quit reading the Daily Mail and The Sun

  • superapplefrog you're right in a literal sense, but I say teachers don't really have any effective authority today.

I don't read tabloids, but don't doubt this: if a teacher put his/her arm on a child's shoulder to usher them back to school, over-excited tabloid-reading parents OR kids could 'credibly' complain to the school inspectors about infringing children's rights etc etc. .

  • The Sun/Mail always exaggerate stuff or blatantly lie. They focus on ONE time where something bad has happened as though it always happens (just look how many idiotic women in the U.K. automatically think something dodgy is going on if a man is anywhere near a child who isn't related). I would guess most teachers have authority but the tabloids suggesting any teacher can get in trouble for exercising it means they are less likely to exercise their authority

  • No radab, re: red-haired kid, it's not Ian Beale (Adam Woodyatt), Woodyatt was already playing Ian in Eastenders by 1987, & he's a several years older than this boy (clip 1989). I think this actor was only in GH.

  • Never mind Bronson, Mrs Mclusky used to scare me. and i used to fancy georgina! And Justine (when she grew a bit older)

  • Do you have the full episode (I'm sure they're longer than 9:32)

  • Classic clip!! Thanks for posting. Bronson was a legend - black gloves, everything!

  • COME WITH ME BOY!!!! >:-(

Actually I only first watched Grange Hill in about 1999-2000 :D, I was born in 1989.

  • I only watched it in the late 80s/early 90s mostly (I was born in 81) so I remember some of these characters, even though I was only 8 at the time.

  • Just typed in bad boyes and this came up "p.s does anyone have any clips of bad boyes". I'm really obsessing with it, no one seems to remember it, it was fab and the theme tune was quality (can't actually remember how it went but I remember loving it-when I was 8)..someone must have it knocking about on a betamax surely...

  • I rememeber that show!! was around 1988-89

  • lol bronson is class, let him loose on the kids of today he'd sort em out!

  • bronson still scares me

  • Mr Bronson (Michael Sheard) was a superb actor!!! - He actually played Adolf Hitler in 'Indiana Jones & the Last Crusade', & was in 'The Empire Strikes Back' as well - Got force strangled by Darth Vader hehehe (He may even have been in the original 'Raiders of the Lost Ark?) - He alas died August 2005...

  • The late Michael Sheard as the supurb Bronson - without doubt an episode from the classic era of Grange Hill. Danny Kendall, Gonge, Ziggy, Trev Cleaver, Savage, Mr Griffiths, McClusky and Robson.

  • Bronson's got toupee...

  • kendall killer

  • This is excellent. I have always been a Grange Hill fan.

  • Mr Bronson was in Coronation Street and Mr Bronson was in the film called Holiday on the Buses.

  • I loved Gergina more than wayzotoichi! I'll fight you for her!

  • 'KENDAAAALLLLL!!'

  • I wish the BBC would put Grange Hill back on BBC1 again.

  • I love Grange Hill and I still too do this day. Mrs McClusky was the best headmistress in it. Mr Griffiths had a soft spot for her.

  • Bronson was the dogs bollocks, really made it fun to watch. Very strict and over the top, but everyone still run rings around him lol
