I do pushups just like you've shown, and during the Summer I was up to 100 each day. Yet, I've noticed that if I do very many pushups my wrists really start to hurt. Is this normal? Are there ways I can avoid the wrist pain?
I feel pain in my right hand when writing. The palm of my hand feels pain and I lead my body to my right position. The bones in my hand feels tighten hurting my wrist. Thanks.

While laying down trying to get some rest, my body be in the wrong sleeping position. I be sleeping on my stomach, difficult proper sleeping body position, back pain in the morning, rotating my body struggling to sleep and rest. In the morning, I jumped out of the bed like a cannon.

The back problems may have a lot to do with the sit ups - they're actually one of the things Dr. McGill found were a reliable way to rupture pig spinal discs in his research.
But, the sinking is that your core doesn't know it should be engaged. Try a push up walk out (inch worm). Look for my Primer Magazine warm up video on my channel. I demo it in there. And, do your push ups on an incline after the inch worms. Enough incline to be able to do them perfectly and progress
There's hyper-extending (which I can't actually do) and there is fully extending. Unless you have some sort of pain with making your arm straight (not bent backwards) I think you should fully straighten your arm/elbow. (I don't like to call it locking out.)

Its going breathing during your actual exercise - which might be 45-60s. Inhale, tighten up, lower, and a pursed exhale on the way up (a hiss like martial arts people).

i was wondering about push-ups with legs together Vs legs apart most martial arts schools that i have been to put emphasis on legs apart push-ups ... whats your take on it?
This is very common with people who have desk jobs or with students. Actually I used to have this problem myself. If I do not do my regular flexibility and corrective work to counteract all of the time I spend at a desk it comes back.
I won't give any pretend medical advice, but I will suggest that you go see a good soft tissue therapist. Active Release Therapists (ART) tend to be good, but are not the only game in town. Google them and find somebody near you.
Thank you. To get started use an incline - put your hands on a the bar in a squat rack, or the bar in a smith rack at the gym; and if you are a home exercise person, use your stairs. Find the incline that allows you to do them correctly now, and then lower the incline as you get stronger.
Also, Grey Cook has some excellent, specialized resistance bands that make doing a perfect push up on the floor possible for most people.

USe a squat rack or a smith rack, or some stairs, or something where you can have your hands higher than the ground. This shifts the wieght more to your feet. Find a level that is currently challenging, but allows you to get all of the resp in perfect form; then, as your body allows, drop the incline until you're on the floor... and then clapping at the top in time
I'm interested in how to warm up and down before and after push ups. I want to avoid any injuries. Does anyone know any video on that/ I couldn't find anything. Thanks
if you have shoulder problems go to website "functionalmovement" and find somebody who is FMS or SFMA certified and let them help your specific situation... also a very, very good idea for prevention.
@mskw2 man.. push ups are warming up exercises.. it won't hurt you .. the one thing that could hurt .. if ur shoulder joints are weak.. after finishing push ups.. just help ur self with ur knees and get up real real slowly.. u won't feel a thing

if the middle of your body drops that is probably because you lack the core stability. So, you're not doing anything wrong, you just need to fix the pattern: 1. find my The Primer Mag Warm-Up" video and do the inch worm from that. 2. Elevate your hands until you can keep your body (esp. middle) rigid and progressviley lower the hands week to week and you'll be on the floor soon.
One thing I didn't include in the video was the importance of core REACTIVE stability - if you put pressure on your hands, your core should automatically react and hold everything together. This is where a lot of the "floor sex" comes from.
A really great way to work on the reactive core stability is with the inch worm (or push-up walk out): its one of the warm up exercises on the "The Primer Mag Warm-Up" video I did (youtube won't let me include URL)

Usually a folded up towel makes a good target to touch chest to.

@InsanityType66, Nope, that means you are doing something RIGHT! Your core is what's holding your body up and allowing it move as one piece.
For most people, they can't do a proper push up because they lack the core stability to keep the middle together while their arms move.

i need your help, when i do a pushup, my stomach keeps hitting the floor and so does my dick, and i keep seeing on vids how there stomach never touch, nor down there, does it touch, what could i be doing wrong?

if the middle of your body drops that is probably because you lack the core stability. So, you're not doing anything wrong, you just need to fix the pattern: 1. find my The Primer Mag Warm-Up" video and do the inch worm from that. 2. Elevate your hands until you can keep your body (esp. middle) rigid and progressviley lower the hands week to week and you'll be on the floor soon.

Thanks... I think:-).
One thing I didn't include in the video was the importance of core REACTIVE stability - if you put pressure on your hands, your core should automatically react and hold everything together. This is where a lot of the "floor sex" comes from.
A really great way to work on the reactive core stability is with the inch worm (or push-up walk out): its one of the warm up exercises on the "The Primer Mag Warm-Up" video I did (youtube won't let me include URL)
