  • Good Video what I don't like about NYricans is that they're so ghetto, they act like Afro-Americans. Los pendejos ni saben hablar español y escribirlo menos=/ They claim to be Boricuas and that's not true! Boricua es ser Boricua! Puñeta! Ay Bendito; y to' eso. Saber de la historia de PR etc etc

  • This shit is so fucked up and misleading.Yes,there is a cultural distinction between Puerto Ricans from the island and Nuyoricans, but whoever posted on this channel that Puerto Ricans are finos and Nuyoricans are cafres are fucked up for doing that shit.Puerto Ricans in America

had to recreate a new culture in their new home.Nuyorican is just a fusion of Puerto Rican culture and cultre in New York City.

Por cierto, este Nuevayoriquino hablo espanol,y para que sepas perra.

  • "the women rapping in this video are Mexicans not Puerto Ricans." WTF!! These women are beauty queens from Puerto Rico. The history of Africans has not been erased from the history books of Puerto Rico nor denied. It is not ironic that there is more mixed race with Spanish and Taino for the simple reason that the Spanish came before African slaves.African slaves were brought to Puerto Rico because the Tainos were disappearing and were killed under the Spanish oppression.

  • @Jeyika African slaves were stronger than the Tainos so the Spanish brought them to Puerto Rico. To do the work that the Tainos could not do.After that they were matched between the three races. From there comes the Puerto Rican race.Taino blood still exists in Puerto Rico but they are very few people whit it.I know this because I have semi-Taino and Spanish descent, one of my great grandparents are direct Descending Taino and one was Spanish (Canary Islands to be specific).

  • @Jeyika Spaniards are not descendants of the Arabs. The only ones who are decent Arabs have to do with the Spaniards are the gypsies. If you don't know the history of our country don't start to criticize. That Video on its substance is full of hate toward people of our own race who went to NY In search of a better future.

  • @richie2910 by your people i meant newyoricans...

  • the newyorkricans that came from the poorer clases were the puerto rican that came to theUSA at the begining of the 20th century. in PR unemployment now 12% most people work in service industry 79%. per capita income is 17,000. and you are telling people on the internet that we are the lower clases BULL SHIT puerto ricans in the usa earn way more than PRICAN in the island im one of them even people on welfare here inUSA make more money than that. get your facts straight you guys are poorer

  • @richie2910 No, get your facts straight. The P.R.'s that came from Puerto Rico was those very poor ones, but now that they are in the U.S. there is better opportunity, but in the U.S., the majority are still poor compared to other Americans. So you can't compare apples and oranges, because the cost of living in Puerto Rico is different from the average in the U.S.. Those ones who came to the U.S. were the poorest ones, which usually are highly mixed race.

  • @richie2910 that is because most newyoricans are mixed, most of PR is white spanish, The rich tend to stay while the poor tend to leave, According to genetics most of your people are white european, west african and native american thus making you a Pardo or tri-racial. Do you want me to show you the dna genome of puerto ricans?

  • @richie2910 Have you seen the people in Southern Europea? They're tan with dark hair. They're not like Norwegians. Fortuno looks Spaniard. You are comparing him pale White Americans with blond hair, but compare him to a Spaniard, Italian, Portuguese, Southern French, Greek, Albanian, etc. and he fits right in. Not all people in Europe are pale with blond hair you know. Fortuno is a White Puerto Rican. I think your definition of White is different from mine. You think White means Nordic.

  • i feel sorry for the person who posted this video. obviously has an identity problem. he thinks white is right, brown should be kept down. most likely a brown guy in PR who wants to be white. Boricuas in new york are educated too , we have some who are what you guys call ''cafre'' but there are alot of hard working, educated, best parade making, in the greatest city of the world boricuas that's who we are !

  • @richie2910 Dudeluv27 is right, the Nuyoricans come from the poorer classes of Puerto Rico which tend to be highly mixed race people. Much of the middle and upper classes of Puerto Rico are White. Now before you say something, they're of Southern European ancestry, which tends to have more of a tan and darker hair, unlike most of the White American population which is of Northern European ancestry, which tend to be lighter with lighter features, but some southerners look Northern and vice versa.

  • @IslenoGutierrez this dude isn't responding to us by reply lol, what a buffon... look what the dude said lol

  • TheXavyelo's comment. Translated from Spanish, he basically says this: "It's true, Nuyoricans in general are trashy. They don't know nothing of Puerto Rican culture, at times I see videos of the New York parade (P.R. day parade) and I'm like WTF? This is not Puerto Rican folklore.haha and there's always a lot of Blacks in the parade that Puerto Rico does not have." The reason he is saying this, is because many P.R.'s that emigrated to the U.S. back when were Mulatos, but most in P.R. are not.

  • @MrSpemat Wait. I'm an American of only Spaniard ancestry. My family is actually from Spain, and I know the whole story of Spain. The Moors (Berbers)/Arabs were kicked out of Spain in 1492 to Morocco. After 1492, Spaniards in both Spain and Latin America had to carry papers called "Limpieza de Sangre" which verified they had NO Moorish/Arab ancestry. A recent DNA study on Spain shows the Iberian peninsula only has 10.6% Moorish ancestry. 90.4% of the people do not have any. Spaniards are White.

  • Interesting... I don't agree with your opinions, but interesting.

The cultures are very different. So called "Nuyoricans" have different experiences then their island siblings. It's obvious they're going to be different, the same can be said for every other culture. Compare, say, a Chinese-American or Scottish-American to someone who lies in China or Scotland.

  • you are blatantly saying that the P.R's with strong African DNA are the trashy ones but the whiter the P.R. the classier they are...see how the European white supremacy has even damaged P.R. Where is the ideal that lighter is better and classier...where did this ideal come from that says "I have to defend myself and make it known I'm not as bad as the dark ones" The P.R.'s that are trashy are that way because of the U.S. poverty influence, not because of DNA!

  • @Quishanumber1 No, I think they are saying that most of the poorer P.R.'S (who are the best candidate to be trashy) are highly mixed Amerindian/Black/White and most of the upper class ones (who are the best candidate to be classy) are White. It's not that it's racism, it's just a harsh reality that's real. If you know Puerto Rico, you know this to be true. Most of the highly mixed poor ones are the majority of Nuyoricans which is why many on the island say that Nuyoricans are "cafre" or trashy.

  • im puertorican and proud i live in new york i dont have to put anyone down to feel better about my self like you guys are doing. talking about 80% this 20%...that... bull shit. la mayoria de los puertoriqueno somos mulato even those that look white. and we are beautiful just the way we are!!!

  • @richie2910 The majority of Puerto Ricans are not Mulatos. Dna evidence does not support that theory. Also, if you were born and raised in the U.S., you are American, not Puerto Rican. You would simply be an American of Puerto Rican ancestry. No different than an American of Irish ancestry, or an American of African ancestry. All of you are Americans. Many on the island view Nuyoricans as Americans, not Puerto Ricans.

  • bull crap! most puerto ricans are mix i go to puerto rico every year, there are some whites, but for the majority there are mix beautifull people.

  • @richie2910 You said: "bull crap! most puerto ricans are mix i go to puerto rico every year, there are some whites, but for the majority there are mix beautifull people." So by that sentence, you are saying that White people are not beautiful people? Racist much buddy? I know Puerto Rico too. It is diverse. There is no one type. There are many White ones, many Mestizo ones, even some Mulato ones. But don't say that Whites are few. Puerto Rico has a huge White population. Depends on area too.

  • @IslenoGutierrez ok anwer this question for me would you say the governer of PR is white?

  • @richie2910 Most puerto ricans are white, stop denying your whiteness bro. 75.8% of your country is mostly of spanish decent. Alot of the newyoricans you see in the states mostly in the east coast are mostly racialy mulattos and pardos (Tri-racials). Alot of them come from poverty striken puerto rican regions. The middle and upper class people of PR are white. This is such a misconception. Many people think that PR is mostly a mulatto country in witch it isn't true. Do some research!

  • @richie2910 Luis G. Fortuño? Of course he is. He is a White Puerto Rican of Southern European descent. He looks like a Spaniard. He certainly does not look like a Native American.

LoL

  • This video is funny and so true LOL!!!

  • The women rapping are Cubans I believe NOT MEXICAN. You're just offended because you know this video is pretty accurate. =P

  • e are mixed with native african and spanish roots. But unlike this video states the majority of the population is not mestizo in the least. The Aruacan Indians ,taínos were obliterated almost in their entirety at the beginning of the 19th century. Most of the mixture is mulatto ,in other words have european in this case spanish and african.@ConcepcionPR there was a Census not as far back as a year ago.I live in Puerto Rico.Your family might have missed it maybe.

  • lol.. this video is interesting... the maker obviously has issues.

I went to Puerto Rico last year. Beautiful place; amusing bunch of ppl; Best food (yes, better than indian food and chinese food)...

As for identity of the ppl, the majority of them look Turkish or Southern Italian....

but when i'd ask ppl about their roots, they'd always say they're mixed with spanish, black, native etc.

  • Majority of Nuyoricans are an embarrasment to Puerto Ricans and Puerto Rican-Americans alike. Trash. They act more African-American than Puerto Rican.

  • @HarmonicCorruption lol... that goes for anyone.

The Irish-Americans in Boston are nothing like the homeland Irish.

Indian-Americans are nothing like homeland Indians...

    etc.

  • @sankar7070

    I know that.

  • @fantasmosoborikua787 Its probably just a guaynabito the one who made this video, Im going to flag this video on the count of BS.

  • new yorican: Oye! Proud to be puerto rican! go puerto rico! dale puerto rico Boricua, Morena!

Normal Person(real boricua): Sabes ubicar a Puerto Rico en un mapa?

    new yorican: What?

Normal Person: Sabes ubicar a Puerto Rico en un mapa?

new yorican: oh! you are speaking spanish, right?

Normal Person: no,anormal.. of course you idiot. I said: Can even find Puerto Rico on a map?

new yorican: Uh yeah you know it's like south of new york ehhhh people like take planes and get there, you know.

  • There is no such thing as NuyoRican. We all are Puerto Rican!

  • The Spaniards are not mixed with Arabs or Blacks. True that Al-Andalus was a diverse society, and SOME racial mixing was inevitable, mostly in southern Spain, but in 1609 the Moriscos were expelled; 300,000 relocated to the Maghreb. The mixing affected less than 5% of the population according to most sources.

  • lol I love this video (but I agree that Puerto Rico is not 80% white). I'm not Puerto Rican, but it is accurate that most Puerto Ricans on the mainland are trashy. I just hope this is not the same for the real Puerto Ricans. I can't stand these "Chicagoricans"...

  • Mass media messages are so pervasive, unconscious, and subliminal that in a 24 hour cycle anyone of us can fall prey to this, even if only momentarily. It represents a captive colonized mindset that apologizes on behalf of oppressors that grind our souls to the ground as they piss on what they see as worthless groveling shells of humanity

  • @ mrDeLares So sad, but you know, this viewpoint represents a mental and spiritually impoverished reality for many Puerto Ricans (especially on the island) that have such shame-based self hatred that they will believe or make-up anything that makes them feel more acceptable to people who could give a shit less if the island sunk into the ocean.... I know people like this. Some are even in my own family.

  • Boricuas son boricuas el kue iso este video kue.se.valla pa el carjo

  • OMG First of all thank you for stating the difference. I'm not saying that puertoricans are white but we don't act trashy and we are very educated and classy people. I'm from Puerto Rico (born and raised) not the states, and when I came to the states I saw the big difference between us from the island and the nuyoricans or puertoricans from the States. I had people telling me that I couldn't be a puertorican because I was so well mannered and proper. I was in shock!

  • @andber2008 Really? You call having a higher than capita murder rate than Mexico being mannered and proper? There are things that to disturb me about fellow Nuyoricans. However to act like everyone in Puerto Rico is so much better than us is a joke

  • @andber2008 If you are from Puerto Rico, then you know that there are many White Puerto Ricans. It's just most in the states are higly mixed. The White Puerto Ricans are mainly of Southern European descent as in Spain, but some are of Scottish, Irish, French, etc. Just most are Spanish descent, so they may not look like an Englishman.

  • Luxar, I'm extremely happy that you posted your comments, since this video is so wrong on so many levels.

If it's IGNORANT creator is Puerto Rican, there is alot of self hate going on there, and it's creator has high aspirations to be accepted and loved by the dominant society in the USA, caucasians.. It is sad when a person of any race is in such a need to be loved by people who couldn't care less if they choked and died...

  • This video is bullshit,i've seen those puerto rican people and I know what the vast majority look like.Puerto ricans are in no way white, maybe like less than 1% of their population remain white, and that doesen't make you a white country. They look very mixed to me,between black, white, and native american, they're a mix they're not white.

  • @allrightbrain It's not that we are white, black or whatever, is that the puertorican from the island are very different than the ones that grew up in the States. I know that Puertoricans are not 80% white, that's is completely wrong in so many levels, but we (Boricuas from the island) are not guetto and trashy like people seem to think thanks to the bad representation we have from the nuyoricans, it's very sad that people judge us because of them.

  • oh and btw russia has the highest higher education rate in the world not pr.

  • i do disagree with the fact that this video bring a very racist factor to the plate. calling nuyoricans africans and puertoricans "white" is very ignorant since we typically come from the same ancestors. and even if we do have black in us why should we be ashamed? putting down blacks is just so racist and ignorant in my opinion. JUST SAYING

  • i agree with this video. as a "nuyorican" i will say i have been exposed to the trashy nuyoricans who probably don't even know who the governor of the island is yet their always ready to tie a flag on their clothes. it does deeply sadden me because i LOVE my culture with all my heart but i can't helped but be embarrassed with the trash the represents my culture in the states. i love puerto rico and its culture and history, just not the way the people in the states represent us as a whole

  • @ShesAmaziingg I agree. I dont even go to the parade anymore. You see a bunch of ghetto morenos pushing up on the girls. They are only too happy smile back. I am also disturbed by the many Puerto Rican girls who give birth to babies from morenos that cant support them. They usually wind up on welfare or in a shelter

  • I'm French, but have been to Puerto Rico and lived in the United States and must say that I absolutely loved the REAL Puerto Ricans from the island and I can understand why they would be reluctant to going to America, since the trashy nuyoricans have greatly hindered their reputation with their ghetto antics. Nuyoricans ARE NOT real Puerto Ricans and are unequivocal garbage in my book :)

  • Puerto Rico 80% white LMAo hahahaaaaaaa ...Bwaaaahahahahaaaa...ooh that was a good one..Im Dominican..and people didnt know until I spoke spanish..Puerto Ricans are known as mulatos and quadroons..sorry ..thats how it is..like DR. Also Mitrochondrial DNA was higher with African than Taino..its about 50% each way...and that makes you less white and more triracial, thats as bad as Halle Berry saying her child is entirely black LMAO, also those dresses in the video are at a formal event (PR side)!

  • Puerto Rico #1 aun que teduela

  • @Harvey6972 Firstly,Spaniards are European so there's no need to write both. Secondly, I think you mean Racial make up and I never disputed that it often includes Spanish,Taino, and African. Thirdly, there was a large settlement of German,French, and Irish people in Puerto Rico therefore there are many Puerto Rican people who descend from those races as well. Don't attack people because you've misinterpreted what they've said. You've picked the wrong person. Have a good one.

  • just an opinion, nyc-ricans adapt because america has more to offer, ask any culture that comes to america, only here can a nyc-rican hustle with his friends of different races and open a record label or other business, simply because of better finacial opportunities, we catch our stepping stones at different levels of life.

  • Puerto Rico doesn't even look close to 80 percent white... My family is in PR and they have said that they haven't seen a census in 50 years! The Goverment just wants to make PR look white so U.S. would favor them. I don't even need to tell you this just go down to Puerto Rico yourself, 30% look black, 30% look white, 40% percent look like if they were mixed or Mullato.

  • @ConcepcionPR Exactly Im a historian & it was a fact they didnt want any one to select the mulato or mixed category & actually wanted people to adopt the white category to make PR more attractive to the USA,I hate to say it but its not working..they will never let Boricuas have the right to vote, senate, congress, but will allow them to serve in the military. I wish our people would wake up,&Fortuno is trying to crush the youth trying to change things & he adopts the identity of the "blanco" term.

  • @ConcepcionPR Your family must've been living in a basement for the past 50 years because the last census was done the last year, They sent letters to every family and the ones that don't respond were visited by census employees. Census is done every 10 years, the last one before this one is from 2000. Also I don't know where you get the numbers from but Blacks in Puerto Rico don't bypass the 8%. There are even several cities to the west and center where blacks are 1% - 5% of the population.

  • @CordilleraCentral Your retarded.

  • @ConcepcionPR I am? .... Look at your response absolutely no facts.. I gave you facts.. is that your best response? I was merely stating facts, and I do not see why you need to lie at all. You just proved you lied, because every puerto rican knows there was a census last year, or at least knows that we realize census regularly. I mean no census in 50 years? Is your family retarted? Or you're just lying? No other options..

  • @CordilleraCentral Your still retarded.

  • @ConcepcionPR You are just an ignorant piece of brainwashed shit that came out of a ghetto and have absolutely no idea about what is Puerto Rico.

  • @CordilleraCentral Stay retarded.

  • @ConcepcionPR You're just a Puerto Rican wanabe. Now get back to your fucking ghetto where you came from.

  • @CordilleraCentral Right keep spassing.

  • @ConcepcionPR That's bullshit. There have been several censi since I was born and I'm 24. There was one last year, same as in the US. When people ask us our race, it's hard to answer with clear-cut "white", "black", and "mulato". Most people used to just go with white just because they're lighter than some other variations of skin here. I think it's only lately that they gave us more choices.

  • @poetaviolinista Your bull shit, because most my family lives in Loiza and some in Bayamon, they haven't gotten shit, so I guess its color profiled in Puerto Rico they give them to mostly white communities, and hand out a couple at the darker ones. I'm no just making something up..

  • @ConcepcionPR Every person that is registered in Puerto Rico got the census form either by mail or the workers visited their houses if they didn't send it back. The only exceptions possible I can think of would be if someone isn't registered as citizen and plus doesn't have house registered etc. In other words an illegal... Is that the case of your "family"? Are they dominican immigrants maybe ?

  • @CordilleraCentral No were not Dominican Immigrants you dumb shit, matter of fact you and your family probaby Dominican immigrants. Racist fuck, Im trying to shine a light on something real that is happening but has been kept under the rug for decades. Why do you think the black and mulatto census numbers doubled when Obama became president.

  • @ConcepcionPR Keep your shitty propaganda for yourself the other retarded people that might believe you. We don't need that shit in Puerto Rico. Now place the racism card because you have no arguments, fact is I have friends from different racial backgrounds. What you say is nosense, you are a big fucking liar. Your family must live in a fucking prehistoric cavern or something or they are retarded. Or even more simple, you're just lying. they make a new census each 10 years..

  • @ConcepcionPR There is no way that your family cannot know about the census. Especially with all the constant TV advertisements that the government made for a couple of months. Plus everyone talking about it, + mail etc. Also let me add more, do you think that census workers have some kind of physic ability to know who is black or white or whatever to avoid going there?? They are required by law to visit all households, and they are recruited the same year the census is made.

  • @ConcepcionPR Exactly!!

  • @ConcepcionPR a friend of mines lives in PR and she told me that the region that she lives is mostly all white. you don't wana admit that most PRs are white but that is the truth. you probably live in NY and never lived in PR, the majority of the "newyoricans" are mulattoes and blacks and some whites...

  • @MrEnemy57 Don't say probably, because Im not from New York and Ive been to PR many times before. And no thats not true, there is a higher percentage of black and mulatto Puerto Ricans in PR than the states even New York, because when most of the Puerto Ricans came to the states mostly only the white ones left, because they had the means, the connections and the money. While the blacks and mulattos didn't. And yes most Puerto Ricans are white, or light skinned, but good percentage is colored.

  • @MrEnemy57 Having light skin doesn't mean one is white. One can have light skin with Negroid or Indigenous facial features or a mixture.

  • @Evergr3entree yes it does. My half breed indigenous friend who clearly has facial features of a mayan native, has light skin and people in his country refer to him person as a "wuero" (white in spanish language)

puerto rico dosen't have many indigenous looking people, alot of them are predominantly white admixed or black admixed.

  • @Evergr3entree But having light skin does not rule you out as being White. Many Puerto Ricans look no different than White Americans. It's just the highly mixed ones are usually poor and emigrate to the U.S. for a better life. White Puerto Ricans usually have more money and don't need to emigrate. But that's not saying there are no poor White Puerto Ricans. I'm sure there are.

  • @ConcepcionPR you are a smart man!

  • Anytime we lump a group of people together for negative propaganda we prove our narrowness of mind. Many Puerto Ricans on the island depend on those in the USA mainland for finacial support. Those on the Mainland depend on the islanders for emotional links to our land of origin. Prejudice is an ugly mental illness and only weakens the individual. Many Puerto Ricans living all over the world make us proud by their accomplishments. That is what we shoud be focusing on and not the hate.

  • @Domingo12754 no they dont!

  • *discussion

  • @kaleo183rd disrespect. I'm just engaging in this interesting discussing and putting my two cents in.

  • @kaleo183rd descent is born and raised in China and you ask them "What are you?" they are probably going to say "Chinese". If a person of Chinese descent is born and raised in France and you ask them, the are probably going to say "French". Your race has no bearing on your cultural identity. If someone is raised in America they are likely to assimilate to American culture and more over people in America with whom they relate to or even simply enjoy more. I hope I made sense and I mean no

  • @kaleo183rd are saying. However keep in mind that for one,it's up the family to instill a cultural identity in their kids. If they don't,the children will drift wherever they wish to. Also, people are treated differently based upon skin color. So I think certain Puerto Rican Americans naturally relate to the struggles of African Americans and thus adapt and enjoy their culture. Lastly I'd like to say racial make up and cultural identity are very different things. If a person of African

  • @kaleo183rd I'd just like to say firstly that black and white are not races. There is no country of White nor and island of Black. These are only terms we use in reference to a persons skin tone and thus it is impossible to act white or act black. And furthermore, many Puerto Rican's racial make up includes Spanish (what we would term white) and Africa (what we would term black). If you mean you hate it when they forget their culture and assimilate to other cultures completely then I see what you

  • @username22z mOST PUERTO RICANS SOCIAL MAKE UP IS TAINO AND sPANISH eUROPEAN WITH SOME AFRICAN. tHIS WAS PROVEN GENETICALLY.

  • It may seem like I am bashing my people from Puerto Rico, but I am not. What I am trying to do is prove that the arguments against Nuyoricans are invalid and irrelevant. Not all Nuyoricans are low lives in the same way that not all Puerto Ricans from barriadas and cacerias are not low lives. There are many classy Puerto Ricans, just like there are many classy NYricans (like me). Lets stop criticizing and judging each other. We are the same people!

  • I also read a comment where somebody stated that many Nuyoricans are mixed and claim to be fully Puerto Rican when they have little or no Boricua blood. Okayyy...I can say the same thing about Puerto Ricans from Puerto Rico. There are so many Dominicans immigrated to P.R. everyday and they claim to be from Puerto Rico. Look at Carlos Ponce, he is Cuban, but claims to be Puerto Rican because he was born in Puerto Rico. You people are very confused with race and culture. We are the same people!

  • You ignorant Boricuas from P.R. criticize us for adapting to African-American culture. "Puerto Ricans" since the beginning of time have been adapting to different cultures. The Tainos (our ancestors) adapted to the Spanish (also ancestors, mostly through rape) culture and African (our ancestors) culture. Then those mixed Puerto Ricans adapted to some of the Jews and other Europeans that immigrated to Puerto Rico. So how can you criticize something that Puerto Rico has been doing 4 a long time?

  • Additionally, Puerto Rico has a higher crime rate than any state in the United States! Including New York City. And I do know A LOT about my culture, because I am educated. An educated person of Puerto Rican decent does not call themselves white, knowing that it has been shown that most Puerto Ricans carry mostly Taino Indigenous blood in ther mitochondrial DNA. The true language of P.R. is the Arawak language, called taino. Not spanish!! Do you speak taino? Judging by your ignorance,I think not

  • @BxLoveAngel81 una que sabe, Arawaks, spread from the venzuela/brazil/guyana area to modern day PR. DR, Cuba, and Jamacia

many are ignorant to this fact but they're lost, I eqauly hate the "puerto Ricans" that think thy're blck, all the same with those who think they're white, cause they are bot immbeciles

  • WE ARE THE SAME PEOPLE! If YOUR grand parents chose to move to the states, you would also adapt to the NYC culture. It's human nature! And you criticize us for embracing the African American culture, but so do PR from PR! Hello...what is reggeaton??!! A bunch of ghetto men from P.R talking about selling drugs and having sex with hoes with African beats in the backround. And Puerto Ricans from P.R. can also be ghetto. How about all of those cacerias and barriadas? Or the tecatos begging for $

  • Not all Nuyoricans are ghetto and wild! Yes, I was born in New York and YES my spanish is not the best. At least I can still speak it! But I am FAR from being ghetto or wild. I carrry myself like a lady and I am very well educated. Unlike you racist Puerto Ricans here on this site! You guys sound like baphoons! All the things you say about Nuyoricans, I can turn it around and say the same about Boricuas from the island! You people just like to stereo-type and generalize, which makes you ignorant

  • @BxLoveAngel81...get a dictionary and look up..."buffoon", i hope you don't find your picture next to the definition. Y eso que eres "educada".

  • This video and all of these racist and ignorant comments are disheartening to me. I am a young female who was born and raised in the Bronx, New York. My grand parents are from Ponce, Puerto Rico and moved to NYC in the 1950's because my grandfather was offered a really good job. I did not CHOOSE to be a New Yorker. You can thank your Puerto ricans from PR (mis abuelos) for leaving the island. So for you to bash people who had no choice in where they were born is just plain ignorant!

  • I think it's pretty sad that there is so much hatred and racism in the same culture. Yes, the Nuyoricans might be so-called "ghetto" but the Puerto Ricans hating on them are just as stupid. If you don't want to be represented by Nuyoricans than don't act like them. Simple as that.

  • Why all of the sudden it's bad to be white now lol

  • MOST OF THE PR FROM PR SOUND MAD AT BLACK AMERICANS. IT'S NOT OUR FAULT THAT YOUR PRS IN NY GET ALONG WITH US. FROM ALL THE ANGER AND RACIST COMMENTS FROM THE PRS IN PR IT SEEMS THE PRS IN NYC ARE BETTER THAN Y'ALL. DO YOU THINK THE WHITE MAN CARE IF YOU'RE PR AND I'M BLACK. NO! ALL THEY SEE IS TWO PEOPLE WHO ARE MINORITIES IN THE USA. SO WE GET ALONG WITH EACH OTHER DUE TO BEING DISCRIMINATED AGAINST. PR IS THE USA TERRITORY.

  • I think here you all have missed the point we hate that nuyoricans have adopted too much the afro-american culture and then they claim themselves proud puertoricans and its not that we are racist its just that afro-american and puerto rican black people ARE NOT THE SAME there are huges differences between an afro-american and a puerto rican black person besides that nuyoricans are mostly people that like to say they are puerto rican but never care about our social or politic issues in our island

  • @Pa0la1293 PUERTO RICAN IS A NATIONALITY, NOT A RACE. AND THERE ARE PLENTY BLACK PUERTO RICANS. THE TERM AFRICAN-AMERICAN IS BULLSHIT.

  • @ImHereToTellYou1 you said... "I'M AMERICAN. I WASN'T BORN IN AFRICA. I JUST HAVE AFRICAN ANCESTRY." then... that makes you african-american! the term is right I dont get it you guys dont like people to say the N word you also dont like the black term soo how should I call you? btw dont dare to tell what I'm or what we puerto ricans are I've been living here my whole life and I think I know what I'm talking about

  • @Pa0la1293 1ST OF! PLENTY BLACK ASS CARIBBEANS AREN'T CALL AFRICAN CARIBBEAN. I KNOW WHAT I AM AND I DON'T DENY MY AFRICAN ROOTS. DON'T PUT ME IN WITH THE REST OF THE BLACKS THAT DON'T KNOW WHAT THEY WANT 2 B CALLED. I WANT TO BE CALLED BLACK AMERICAN OR JUST AMERICAN. THAT'S IT. JAMAICANS AREN'T CALLED AFRICAN JAMAICAN FOR EXAMPLE. DON'T YOU DARE TELL MY WHAT I MA! WHEN MOST OF YOU PR THE MAIN ONES DENYING YOUR AFRICAN ANCESTRY. I DON'T HEAR MOST OF Y'ALL BEING CALLED AFRICAN PR.

  • @Pa0la1293 THAT SOUNDS SILLY. THE ONLY THING THAT DIFFERS FROM A BLACK IN AMERICA AND A BLACK IN PR IS NATIONALITY, CULTURE, AND LANGUAGE, BUT WE'RE STILL BLACK. SO IF IM A NIGGER BECAUSE I'M BLACK THAN SO ARE PR BLACKS. WE ARE THE SAME PPL WITH DIFFERENT CULTURES. YOU MAKE NO SENSE. BIG UPS TO NUYORICANS. MOST DON'T SOUND THIS IGNORANT. SO WHAT THEY ADOPTED?! WE BOTH ARE CONSIDERED MINORITIES, SO WHY NOT. STOP LOOKING AT MEDIA BECAUSE IN NY WE STILL DON'T HAVE THE SAME CULTURE AS THEM LIKE DAT.

  • @ImHereToTellYou1 ok I get it you're trying to play the victim role here please while youre whining and complaining about being a "minority" here in puerto rico we face not so well times I wouldn't even name because there are so many, in mexico there are people that cross the line and get into your country to do the work you guys HATE to do never being considered for anything and in southamerica there are people dying of hunger

  • @Pa0la1293THAT'S NOT PLAYING VICTIM. WHEN IMMIGRATES COME TO THE USA, I CAN CARELESS. OKAY, I GET IT YOU'RE VERY CLOSED MINDED WHICH LEADS TO LACK OF EDUCATION. SOUNDS LIKE YOUR PLAYING THE VICTIM BY STATING YOUR PROBLEMS. ALSO, IT'S IGNORANT TO PLAY THE GAME, "WHO HAS THE BIGGEST PROBLEMS."

  • @ImHereToTellYou1 all that happening and then you try to teach me about racism when the 6 times Ive went to the states the treat I received from americans wasnt the best you loose ur time crying over someone that called you afro-american? in a video that isnt your buissness considering you arent puertorican nor nuyorican? I could discuss what my issues are with nuyoricans but I won't because you'll never understand our side since you've never lived here or went through what we do everyday

  • @Pa0la1293 YOU SOUND SILLY AGAIN. SAMETHING. I DON'T LIVE WHERE YOU LIVE SO I WON'T UNDERSTAND, AND YOU WON'T UNDERSTAND OUR PROBLEMS. I AM DAMN SURE NOT RACIST BECAUSE THAT'S IGNORANT JUST TO LET YOU KNOW. YOU ARE CRYING OVER NUYORICANS AND WHILE TALKING ABOUT THEM MOST OF YOU PRS FROM PRS ARE CALLING BLACKS NIGGERS AND BLAH BLAH BECAUSE WE SOMEWHAT GET ALONG OVER HERE WITH YOUR PEOPLE. GET OUT OF HERE WITH THAT. IF BEING CALLED SOMETHING THAT I DON'T PREFER IS PETTY THEN YOUR PROBLEMS PETTY.

  • honestly u can say anything you want about us u know a couple of nuyoricans u like them and u think you got the right to come and try to defend them without understanding the two sides of the story and even call us racists? my point its going to be the same nuyoricans are not like us for more puerto rican flags they hold on the parade or for more they said they are oh and btw no we dont call u people niggers we dont even speak english here and we dont spend time talking about americans

  • @Pa0la1293 I HAVE NO PROBLEM WITH ANYONE THAT'S NOT RACIST. MOST OF THESE COMMENTS FROM YOUR PEOPLE IN PR ARE CALLING US NIGGERS, SO YOU CAN JUST SPEAK FOR YOURSELF. MOST OF Y'ALL DO SPEAK ENGLISH. YOU'RE TYPING IN GOOD ENGLISH. I GET SOMEWHAT OF WHAT YOU'RE SAYING ABOUT NUYORICANS, BUT MOST OF YOUS ARE ACTING AS IF WE ARE BAD PEOPLE AND WE TURN THEM THAT WAY, BUT ANYWAYS NICE TALKING TO YOU AND HAVE A NICE DAY.

  • @Pa0la1293 I dont understand what is wrong qith calling someone African American, Tego, Omega, Rita indiana, Dominicans Cubans and Boricuas have no problem identifying with Africa...yet...those here like to be called a color black...I dont get it.. I think it is the image of African, im Dominican, mixed..yet I know I have african heritage and dna too..yet not to the point of Haitians..Africans..etc.

  • @gemenilaidback Are you called African Dominican? No.

  • @Pa0la1293 YOU JUST PROVED MY POINT WHEN YOU SAID ''PR BLACK PEOPLE.'' OKAY, BLACK IS THEIR RACE AND PR IS THEIR NATIONALITY IF BORN IN PR. LMFBO!!!! GOT THE NERVE TO SAY ''ADAPT TO THE BLACK CULTURE'' LIKE IT'S A BAD THING. GET OUT OF YOUR RACIST AND IGNORANT WAYS! THEY ARE WELL EDUCATED NUYORICANS AND BLACK AMERICANS. ALL AREN'T GHETTO. GOT THE NUYORICANS LOOKING REAL SMART OUT HERE. I'M GLAD THEY SO CALL ''ADAPT TO US BECAUSE THAT SHOWS WE CAN GET ALONG AND WE'RE ALL HUMAN.

  • @ImHereToTellYou1 lol you replied me like crazy and I dont even understand why you did in the first time because you write so many I dont even care to read if you explain to me in a simple sentence what part of my point of this video disgusted you I'll explain myself to you properly

  • @Pa0la1293 LOL, YOU REPLIED BACK TO ME LIKE CRAZY AND I DON'T UNDERSTAND WHY YOU DID IN THE FIRST PLACE BECAUSE YOU SAID YOU DON'T CARE TO READ BUT YOU DID. YOU JUST GOT MAD BECAUSE I SAID PUERTO RICAN WASN'T A RACE BUT A NATIONALITY AND THAT I DON'T LIKE BEING CALLED AFRICAN AMERICAN BECAUSE I DON'T EVEN KNOW WHAT PART OF AFRICA MY ANCESTORS CAME FROM AND YOU DON'T HEAR BLACKS IN THE CARIBBEANS BEING CALLED AFRICAN CARIBBEANS. TISK.

  • you talk just too much over a video its not even your business I called you african-american then that makes me racist I care about other more imortant issues in the world then that makes me ignorant you can say everything you want about my person anyway u dont know me you can justify you dont agree with my opinion and point of view calling me close-minded and frankly I dont give a damm "most of prs sound like this and that" generalize and stereotype us all u want like if you really knew us

  • @Pa0la1293 YOU DON'T REALLY KNOW US, BUT YOU PEOPLE JUDGE US AS IF YOUR GREW UP AROUND US LIKE MOST OF THESE NUYORICANS DID. I HAVE NO PROBLEM WITH YOUR PEOPLE. YEA, YOU'RE RIGHT. IT'S YOUR OPINION AND I HAVE MINE. I ONLY UNDERSTAND THE PART THAT NUYORICANS HAVE MORE OF OUR WAYS THAN Y'ALL, BUT IT JUST SEEM LIKE YOUR PEOPLE WAS DISSING OUR CULTURE LIKE WE ARE A DISGRACE WHEN MOST OF US DON'T EVEN ACT LIKE THAT.

  • @ImHereToTellYou1 no I wasn't dissing your people my point is that nuyoricans are more part of your culture than part of our and its not that we are racist its just that there are different traditions and ways when they claim to be so puertorican and they really don't care about us or about what happen here that is what makes us angry and they diss us about it then that make us more angry and thats why sometimes we say things we dont mean to your people

  • @ImHereToTellYou1 the thing is that we are extremely proud people and jealous about our identity but if you come someday you'll see we are the most nice and joyful people in the world and we always love to have a good time its just you haven't seen us in the light we really are =)

  • @Pa0la1293 I know y'all different from them. Just like we are different from Africans in Africa culture wise. You don't want them calling themselves Puerto Rican when they're more Americanized. I do plan on going one day.

  • @ImHereToTellYou1 Puerto Rican is a sub race like mexican for example...just sayin

  • @5620200391 Okay

  • @ImHereToTellYou1 At the same time I am Dominican and how is it that you guys dont like bing called African my gal is African but love black? thats a color not a race ,nor a nationality or ethnic group, why Dont African Americans like to be called African and hate to be called mixed which they are also..they are not purely black...look at Haiti or Africans if you need to draw a comparison? this video doesnt understand urban culture of metropolitan areas...which San Juan has lot of ironically!!!!

  • @gemenilaidback Are you called African Dominican? No. We have no problem with it, but we don't understand and doesn't make sense why we are called African American and the blacks in the Caribbean and other places aren't called African Caribbean or whatever. You are just Dominican. What's wrong with calling blacks in America just American? It's not like I hate Africans or Africa, but come on. We're like 50 million generations cut from them. We're American. Most of us are mixed we just don't see a

  • @gemenilaidback big deal about being mixed. Only the ones who think they are better because they are mixed. They think they are better than ones who just called their selves black.

  • @ImHereToTellYou1 Thats not true some people who are mixed and call themselves as such are mixed half black and half white why do they have to call themselves black and neglect thier other side of thier identity?

  • @gemenilaidback You are a idiot. I clearly did not say that. I stated. "Your also whatever else your mixed with." Lol. Your only upset because you can't comprehend.

  • @ImHereToTellYou1 How do African Americans judge Boricuas and Dominicans for saying they are mixed or comparing them to African Americans yet dont like being called African Americans for black...that is suck a bad word... I studied AA culture and it is sophisticated and educated unlike the URBAN CULTURE portrayed in this video THAT IS NOT THE TRUE CULTURE OF AFRICAN AMERICANS EITHER, only the urbanized hip hop person, which never existed till the late 80's???

  • @gemenilaidback AAs don't judge them for saying they r mixed. It just upsets us when most deny their blackness or use being ''mixed'' to say they are better than someone who consider their selves just black. If I had a black parent and a white parent, I'm black and white, but I'm still black as well as I'm still white. So, when they say they r not black but mix it's crazy because you are still black even though you are mixed because you have black in you. Your also whatever else your mixed with.

  • @ImHereToTellYou1 That sounds like a inferiority complex if one automatically thinks someone is better because they are mixed, just because you say you are mixed your automatically saying we are better than someone else? That is ridiculous, in fact people in American who are mixed act better than other blacks and wont even have children with them (will date them not marry them nor have kids with blacks), then they will have a child by a white man, calling the child black like Halle Berry!

  • @gemenilaidback "in fact people in American who are mixed act better than other blacks and wont even have children with them (will date them not marry them nor have kids with blacks), then they will have a child by a white man"

You just proved my point. Lol, lol. It's what I observe. How can I have in inferiority complex when I'm half black myself? I hang around other mixed ppl and they do talk a lot of mess and think they are better than someone who is supposedly full black.

  • @ImHereToTellYou1 You are making no sense now...msut be losing your argument ...met your match...at this point unless you say something prolific, Im done.

  • @gemenilaidback You been lost due to having slowness of comprehending.

  • @ImHereToTellYou1 ""It just upsets us when most deny their blckness or use being ''mixed''" Also if one says they are mixed how are they denying ""blckness" (whatever this is or your concept is) you would have to acknowledge it to being mixed with something!! I know about African culture its in our food, our music, our language, our movements and even Africans can see more Africaness in our culture than African Americans. Also like my family we dont look black nor white, which is why we get asked.

  • @gemenilaidback If someone calls you black who cares to say if you are mixed. Your still black. Your not comprehending what I'm saying. You just want to argue.

  • Most African Americans rrived in the Americans in Mass in the 1700's that is only 5 generations, our culture is still very much African and many African Americans claim customs call and response from african culture as well as some foods, so the only reasons most African Americans conceive themselves to be more "black" is many have never traveled, Also I don't know any Dominicans who say they don't have black in them, we are mixed, not black and I feel you are labeling to put us in your category!

  • @gemenilaidback "Also I don't know any Dominicans who say they don't have black in them, we are mixed, not black and I feel you are labeling to put us in your category!"

Lol, lol. Calm down. Yea, Yea, your mixed. Lol, your black and whatever your mixed with. Still black. Lol, lol, and whatever else you're mixed with. You hate to be called black. Oh, the rage. I know plenty. I live by plenty.

  • @ImHerToTelYou1 I am mixed of African descent, Taino, and Spanish, there is no continent called black its a color,in spanish its a color or object what they used to call slaves to say they were not people, I am of African descent among others I am mixed, you think this way due to American slavery let me teach you something in the caribbean Spaniards married thier slaves who bore them children, in the USA they did not, this si how we got our names, therefore we accept all our heritage, you do not!
