Rosy Boa Snake Eating A Mouse!!!

My rosy boa isnt so smart. She usually spends several minutes trying to find the head of the mouse ( sometimes she just gives up and buries it, where i find it rotting three days later.) She can't tell the difference between my hand and a mouse, and she likes to crawl around upsidown, sideways, it dosent really seem to matter to her. Not the brightest snake in the world, but i wouldnt have her any other way :)

I'm having a hard time getting my rosy to feed. I've tried everything, to using different size mice, fresh killed mice and rat pups. I don't want to feed her in her cage, any suggestions?

I don't know mutch about snakes, but the mouse you gave her was too big. maybe you could shoot it again with a little bit smaller mouse that way it is better to see how she feeds. :)

no more than 3 feet. I have a Bay of L.A. Rosy and they are the best starter snake. Even if you are experienced they are great. Very docile and A LOT slower moving than Corns wich is great for kids or to get peole to hold who are normally afraid of snakes

my first snake was a corn snake ( spyro) and my ball python (sandy) rosy boas are ok snakes to start with but if i was a beginner i would get a little snake first like a corn snake

Thanks! I like to mix up the titles a little bit. Also wanted to mention that with exception of that one video of the Woma, all of my snakes get f/t. The other videos with live on my channel are snakes belonging to a friend (Burmese, Red Tail, Normal Ball).

I think live is the natural way. I'm not convinced that there's more suffering going on with snakes: I think snakes give some of the least amount of suffering. And unless you kill the food yourself, you usually don't really know how much suffering it went through. I heard of people just tossing live mice into the freezer. NO!! Have some HEART! Feed the poor thing to a snake!

On hair, I'm 50 and have had it down past my butt five times. My injuries now make bathing very difficult.

I feed frozen for 3 reasons:

1. Safer for the snake

2. The closest place around that sells live is a half hour away AND I'm not breeding those smelly bastards :oP

3. Plus it's much cheaper and more convenient not having to run out every time a snake needs to eat.
