  • I'm looking more for the convertible tablet/ultrabook to take hold. Tablets with quad core processors with Windows 8 that will allow users to do more than VIEW content. My iPad is a HUGE disappointment when it comes to getting things done whereas an iPad AND a netbook/ultrabook is on the verge of overkill when it comes to my routine. The perfect niche would be a tablet with a capable, productive operating system in "ultrabook" mode. I think the two form factors need to converge.

  • I am VERY interested in them. Right now I have a desktop computer, a Notebook, a Tablet and a Smartphone. Tablets are great but you can't really work with them. So, I am waiting for: 11 Inch Ultrabook, with Windows 8, one day of battery and: a touchscreen! Like the Lenovo Yoga you saw at CES. Just fold it and you will have a Tablet (with Windows 8 Metro UI). Fold it back and you can do real work (with Desktop Windows).

  • i would rather prefer the Macbook air although in ultarbooks i like the great design and the strong feel and build quality of ASUS UX21

  • Samsung 9 series blew shitbook air away

  • I think they need to add 4G to ultrabooks.. internet on the go as some tablets have that support now

  • Well at the sec I don't even use my home pc which is kinda stupid after the amount of time and money I put into it, I currently use a acer aspire 5552 I believe that's what it is anyway its got phenom 2 quad core at 2.6ghz probably can be overclocked, 8gb ram , 640gb hdd,blu ray drive put in myself and a 4250 ati graphics so the battery life ain't bad but could be better

  • ASUS Zenbook!

  • you know when you make this video why would you not put some pictures of the items you are talking about and then talk about them while they are just going on a slide show in the back, why have a lcd monitor and not turn it on man? i dont understand you

  • this is very informative, and due to my lack of demanding computing nowadays ive made my full time computer an asus transformer. does it work? yes. for me, anyways. your mileage may vary.

  • Sony VAIO for sure. Quad core 2.5Ghz and a 540, 8GB of RAM. 1080p display on a relatively easy-to-carry small 13.1" screen.

  • It's funny, i was just looking at the toshiba ultrabook commercial and when i came to look it up i saw your video :o

  • I'd take a windows 8 tablet over an ultrabook

  • @hotsizzle216 shame you will have to hold the screne up with your hands!!

  • i would go with a ultrabook but for the people who buy netbooks are 1 kids and there parents are not going to pay the money for a computer 2 people who just use facebook also you can make your own ultra book i just put in 4gb (ram) and a 40gb ssd in my 5 year old netbook and that is just the start of what you can do

  • You're right, Netbooks are 'Cheap', but that's what i like about them. Anyone can get one! I have my Acer Aspire One D255 with Debian Testing and it works prefectly!

  • I have the 2011 mba 13"

it's amazing! it's definitely worth the $1500 that it cost

I bought it mid october I believe

  • @OhYouIFancyHuh yes MBA 13 is a perfect machine, used one and its unbelievable both in performance and design

  • MBA is good, but on my case it was'nt worth for me to buy it over the MBP. Just be careful not to break the hinge on the lid, its fragile (on MBA).

  • @StoutNerd MBA is not a pro laptop, its a best laptop for people who need light weight and adequate performance

  • @bharatkumargupta Im not saying it is. Im saying that it is on the same price range as the pro and on my case it was better to get the pro. Im on college studying Business (IT Managing focused) so for that it could be enough for the air, but since i work with computers daily and i wanted to get a Mac to improove my knowledge of different OS, i wanted a more capable computer. Im more scared to break the air then having to carry a couple extra pounds for the pro.

  • @StoutNerd yeah even i like mac book pro, if u want to buy it go for it i recommend it

  • @bharatkumargupta The MacBook Air gives more than adequate performance for many people

  • I think Ultrabooks will and are amazing products! Like you said, they're fast, portable, and light. Yeah, there is the MacBook Air but for those windows users the ultrabook would be perfect and the right price also!

  • One more thing I have just gotten my netbook for Christmas( I payed for a third of it) it is I think a year or two old, used and I can squeeze out around seven and almost a quarter hours of battery at high performance, a bit less at super high performance. So this thing is awesome. Again since this was less money(for me and it is cheep anyway) and awesome battery life(better then either) and is a lot older and does all I need it is the best.

  • In my mind the iPad is the best ultrabook for me.

I know that it isn't a laptop but stil it is portebale and powerfull enough.

  • I have the Asus Eee pc netbook 1005ha it has two 70 gig harddrives it is able to run a few versions of windows the one I have is windows xp because I use that at school. And if you look it up on YouTube you can find people who put Apple's snow leopard. So it would be able to run apple software pretty well just watch the video.

  • I have a net book it's awesome, it's slow :( ish slow ish, on high intensive things, it is thick heavy but let me just say this it is perfect for what I need. It is a good cheap option, it is portable (still needs wifi people) it does everything that is needed, it can use a DVD player not in it but you can attach one to it.

  • an alienware ultrabook would be amazing.

  • UU!(Ubuntu Ultrabook!)

  • Didn't he say all the above about the Samsung notebook a few weeks ago? But that's not competition to the macbook air? I guess not. Netbooks were never an answer for anything, only a stop gap because the industry didn't have anything "better" to offer.

Tablets whether it's an ipad or an android tablet aren't the answer, They are good for the most part but not a replacement, If they were then why do you think so many people are building keyboards for them?

Will have to wait and see whats next..

  • I'm a fan of both ultrabooks and netbooks.

  • I AM ULTRON !!!

  • ultrabooks are the future of portable laptops

  • if you think ultrabooks are copying mac airs you should know sony was the first company to produce ultra-thin and lightweight PC's

  • @TheArnzi

agreed, I have a X505, and disagreed, because they are not ultrabooks by today's definition. They are nice, but really, kind of useless....The Airs, Zens, are much better and really showcasing what desirable portable computing should be like...

  • @HsunusC still likely what sparked the idea of the macbook air

  • An Ultrabook with windows 8 would be great. If only they manage to make them touch capable too.

  • @oEDLIo Wouldn't be to hard, but you could expect quite a high price on them.

But I'm sure there will be an option in somewhat future to by an external-portable screen that have touch capabilities

  • I love my mac book air. I have the top spec 13" i7 and its so fast. Only comment I have is I have found the battery life isn't that good.

  • Since Apples can run both OSX & Windows, & that Apple is putting the new thunderbolt port on their systems, makes me feel Apple is the way to go.

  • @ernestmac13 Apples tend to fall down

Are you saying you are going down?

  • Zenbook

  • pc windows = ultra book mac os X = macbook air both are same

  • netbook suck

  • 50£ netbook in a clearance store near me

but i dought ill buy it

  • I wish i had th MacBook air when i was in school instead of my Windows XP netbook

  • @youbeat2008 is it the final build or is it still a beta

  • asus zenbook ftw!!!!!

  • I'm watching from Windows 8!

  • @ollie lol! No offense, but come on apple been running the same styled os for years... The only thing windows 8 will change is tablets, but the main point just because the windows will soon have and ecosystem like apple means hey will lose because there ecosystem is toooo vast. Communism doesn't work with tech either unless u control the ENTIRE SYSTEM somthing apple did right

  • @TheWesman45 You're right. Being an avid apple user, I know that Microsoft won't be able to control their entire ecosystem as well as apple. But I think they'll be able to get more intellectual property with Windows 8. Since it's the same user interface on all their tablets, desktops and laptops, then they're definitely going in the right direction with this. I'm not keen on the details, but the infrastructure of Win 8 will supposedly make it easier for developers to make software for Win 8.

  • @olliezero they've basically created templates for developers and are say hey, here is your interface, no need to waste time on it. I believe they also said that users will prefer to have a seem-less experience and if your app doesn't follow the template, it won't be received as well. basically forcing them to conform, i'm tired of competition, its bs how developers have to spend so much time conforming to each platforms specific bs. webpages are the closest we can get,yet ie makes that hard too

  • @AjblueDesign But isn't HTML5 a common platform that is on pretty much anything nowadays? Thus, making it easier for devs to make apps?

  • @olliezero most of html5 is actually javascript, and all browsers render html technologies differently, most importantly ie is know for breaking websites. Also, html is not the core behind apps, google is trying to pioneer webapps, their os is completely wrong, but their chrome appstore is nice. html isn't powerful enough yet either.

  • Copy cat. To all windows makers GTFO apple's dick and make something different for once!

  • @ICYASIAN95 Lenovo/Acer/Asus are not operating systems, sir. But, I do agree that the copying of Apple design is frustrating. (shame most of Apple design is ripped off from Dieter Rams' contributions to Braun of the 1960s.)

  • @ICYASIAN95 um apple fan much also microsoft who owns windows that is in all pcs was making computers first also microsoft was in most of apples ideas and was funded by let me guess microsoft so wy dont you stop being a copy cat and stop steeling microsofts ideas apple is a pc but with a different os and limited hardware

  • @SuperMuddiger LOL so dumb!

  • Comment removed

  • 305th viewer ftw

  • Mac it the way to go because you can run Windows and Mac OS

  • Windows 8 will be the comeback of the PC. The same OS on every kind of hardware platform. Perfection.

  • @olliezero I think it will be a vista. I don't want to run windows 8 on my phone, and only the tablet interface is good for a tablet. I am very angry that they have that bloated Metro UI on my desktop computer that will not be able to do a single thing with it. Most windows users won't be happy with it.

  • @ZetaSimsoy What a lot of people don't know is that there are two totally different UI's within Windows 8. There is the streamlined UI designed more for tablets, and there is also the traditional desktop UI that we all know and love. You can switch between the two.

  • @olliezero i hate windows 8 as a desktop

  • Just wondering here, do you get any advertising money from your vast collections of Star Wars, Lego, or Star Wars-Lego products that are shown throughout almost all of your videos?

  • i'm definately eyeing some ultrabooks asus zenbook, acer aspire s3, thinkpad x220.......but the macbook air sticks out because it has ox and windows .

  • Asus is good

  • Speaking as an experienced tech user, i believe that 4-5 inch screen devices is gonna be the only thing we assosiate with portable computing in not too many years from now. The other day i used a programm on my galaxy s2 to transferre just over 2gb of music from the micro sd card within the phone to the internal memory. It took less than 5min. Also transferring pictures and some videos aswell. I did all that without having to use a laptop or desktop. I really dont miss a computer at all :)

  • Who the fuck would want a NetBook...

  • Alienware m11x, bit on the chunky side but small and powerful.

  • I saw an ultra book running Android at a CVS for $50, the hardware looked pretty cheap

  • Im a mac user and i like my 15 inch macbook pro and if i needed more portability I would just buy a 13inch macbook air

  • @lockergnome do you know where I can get a jacket like that?

  • 69th lol

  • HEY CHRIS AWESOME MUG!

  • @pk2alien its called advertising

  • fuck windows 8, windows 9 looks soooo much better

  • a little on the hefty side the m11x by alienware is an early candidate of the hardware hes speaking of. i'm excited to see a slimmer lighter version with that much power

  • @jkulangot allienware head desk great now there is allienware/mac fans here here is the list of rip offs just because of a brand build your own pc > pc > dell > allienware > apple

  • Netbooks have became ultrabooks anyway they got way more powerful and less cheap recently.

  • @TheRanblingjohnny I agree, I never thought about buying a netbook until my lecturer used one at University...I was impressed! It wasn't as fast as a desktop, but does it need to be? For University I need to be able to browse the web, program and maybe watch videos too, a netbook can do that and I don't need to worry about damaging my laptop by taking it around with me. I'm really tempted to buy a netbook now, not everyone can afford a Macbook!

  • This is funny, I've always thought about owning an Apple product. Hooked on the Mac Book Air a while back. This topic is interesting, funny it's now mentioned.

  • @kc135dood haha same, going to college next year thinking about mac book air, but have been checking ultrabooks

  • Did Dell stop making those Adamos? They actually made one that was thinner than the MacBook Air.

  • @dfr343 with much much shorter battery life , about one hour and a half.

  • @manabog

Hmm, yeah that's engineering masturbation. :/

  • Oh man the beginning was a BURN. Nice!

  • Ha, wow, interesting way to open a video, lol

  • 67th

  • 58th

  • 5th

  • I agree, the Macbook air is way better than a netbook! Love your videos! Please check out the channel!

  • @hirshagarwal Course they are better, but are wayyy more expensive

  • @212NATH Lol, yes

  • @hirshagarwal put 1k$ in a pc then tell me that

  • @SuperMuddiger Sorry, but im putting 2k$ into a pc. It's not a mac, but I am willing to spend money on a comp

  • @hirshagarwal well i just put in 4gb (ram) and a 40gb ssd and did a file transfer with a 3gb file with a mac book air and other laptops / pads my pc cost 250$ new with a 500$ in upgrades/ batteries new cords ... and was only slower by 0.03s

  • @SuperMuddiger Yes, pcs are just as good as lots of macs for a better price. But I would much rather have a macbook air than a netbook.

  • 29th

  • AIR FTW
